help! Hospital job vs BPO job
« on: May 10, 2013, 12:46:37 am »

1.   Sure work in a BPO HealthCare Company, well compensated and other benefits. Nurse job naman pero back office setting.
2.   Hospital, will undergo training for 2 mos (with pay) first before they will absorb you as a staff nurse and it depends on your performance.

Naguguluhan kasi ako. I am a registered nurse worked in a BPO company for more than 1 year. After I passed NLE/board exam nag call center ako agad dahil ayoko mag volunteer dahil ayokong maging pabigat sa parents. Yung previous ko malayo sa profession ko. I am earning money nga pero nagdecide ako magresign last month kasi parang di ako masaya. Now, I am unemployed at may dalawang blessing na dumating. Sobrang naguguluhan ako if I will accept option 1 kasi bukas na job offer ko or decline option 1 at choose option 2 na susugal ako. I need your opinions and advice mga sis. Thanks.

if i were you sis, id go and work in the hospital. nakakamiss magtrabaho as a nurse. at tsaka sayang ang pinaghirapan mo as a student. at tsaka ikaw na mismo nagsabi na hindi ka na masaya sa call center.  ang hirap talaga lalo na kung malaki kinikita mo compared sa makukuha mo sa pag nnurse.  pero isipin mo nalang yung kapalit lalo na kung ang target mo e for abroad.

yes, sis.

dapat focus ka muna sa longer term benefits ng working in a hospital. at tulad ng sabi mo may pay naman yung training mo.

ang tendency kase pag  nag work ka sa BPO healthcare company, hindi mo maiiaalis sa isip mo yung chance na mag work sa hospital. lagi yun nasa back ng mind mo. so why not try the hospital setting na lang muna.

buti ka nga sis may chance ka to work sa hospital. maraming nurses graduate ngayon na unahan sa pila sa hospital. tapos madalas wala pang bayad yung training. swerte na yan. wag mo na palampasin. ;D

^^oo nga sis, it seems that you're very lucky. what i can advse is...listen to your heart, what you really wants. working in a BPO will bring you fortune, but is it what you really want to do, working back office? di ba kaya ka nga nagresign sa previous job m?

I have a friend na katulad ng situation mo, medyo hindi pa nga maganda offer sa kanya since she can have a training sa hospital with no pay. However, she still grab the opportunity. Like sis bibibuy said, maraming nurses ang napupunta sa ibang field kaya swerte ka na.

Been in that situation a month ago. I think it was a sign na huwag na bumalik sa BPO Industry. I'm willing to volunteer for 6 months without pay, but my application was rejected. I'm willing to learn more.

Thanks sis ;)

Nga pala I want to correct yung Option 2. With pay means ako magbabayad ng training.

Para kasing sure and stable job vs back to scratch and take risk.

Yung BPO hindi mawawala. Kung hindi ka man maabsorb sa hospital after training, pwede ka lang makahanap ng BPO na pwede mong pasukan. Hospital opportunities are rare.

And I agree na kung magBPO ka man ngayon, you will always wonder about the hospital offer. Ilang months ka lang magtitiis sa maliit/ walang sahod but surely it will pay off.

sis ang hirap ng sitwasyon mo.

please allow me to tell these stories its up to u how you perceive.

i know one of the biggest hosp in our country with on-call nurses policy. depends on hosp census.

2 other hosp in manila some nurses not renewed their contract due to low hosp census.

these 3 hosp are all private and known. but the ratio between nurses and patients are quiet not good in medical businesses.

patients are opted to choose the govt hosp than private.

now you are given a chance to enter the struggling life of filipino nurses in their own country. why not give it a shot? so you atleast experience and/or enjoy your career.

balitaan mo kami sis ha

I'm not a nurse. But base on your story, you're very lukcy kasi may naghihintay na work sayo sa hospital. I'm sure that work/job will make you happy since yan talaga ang profession na pinili mo. =)

Two questions to ask yourself:

1. Do you really want to be a nurse? -- it's one thing to be a registered nurse, and another thing to want to be a nurse the rest of your life. May iba kasi na nasama lang sa agos noong maging uso ang nursing, but their passions lay elsewhere.

2. Can you manage well enough for 2 months (maybe more) without compensation? -- mukha namang kaya mo since you just resigned from your previous work. you won't be a burden to your parents like you initially feared.

Kung pinili mo ang ospital at maabsorb ka afterwards, then great. Kung hindi, at least may exposure ka ulit sa clinics, and there is always an option to look for opportunities in other institutions (or countries) if you realize nursing is your calling after all. BPOs will be around long after the 2-month hospital stint is done.

From a simple thank you ng patient to the adrenaline rush of an emergency situation.

I worked in the hospital before. Umalis lang ako to try other things, self growth. But never miss the chance to work in the hospital. For long term goal naman, this will open a lot of opportunities

1. Yes. But i dont want to be forever volunteer trainee kaya kailangan ko galingan.
2. Sana. I'm the eldest. I have siblings who are in college na so dun na sila focus.

So may hanggang Monday pako daw para mag-isip. Pinagmemedical na din ako. Ayaw ko kasi pirmahan tas di ako sisipot pag option 2 pinili ko. Hmmm.. need to think wisely.

Salamat sa replies medyo naliliwanagan nako kung ano talaga pipiliin ko pero maraming "what if" tumatakbo pa din sa utak ko. :o :(

Go for the hospital job. alam mo sis pag nag BPO job, lalo na at malaki ang kita, mas mahihirapan

Pero I'd go for hospital job.
Sa U** ba to, sis?
