Dahil paulit-ulit lang yung mga tanong about what one can pack inside their hand carry bag at yung iba na ayaw mag-backread despite the thread title I am quoting this reference post again. Hope this helps.

Just a reminder for hand carry bags, the 100ml rule still applies for LAGs for both domestic and international flights.

LAGs stand for the following:

L - Liquids
A - Aerosols
G - Gels including Creams

All LAGs should be placed in containers not more than 100ml. All these should fit inside a 1 liter sized bag.


For checked-in bags, most airlines if not all will have the 30kgs or 32kgs maximum weight per piece rule. Meaning no single bag should weigh more than 30 or 32 kgs. This was a result of safety and health issues brought forward by baggage handlers since passenger bags are handled manually. Any excess weight will have to be transferred to another bag.

To clarify the above statement: I am talking about the maximum weight of one piece of baggage at any one time and not the baggage allowance per class of service. Even if traveling on economy class and your FREE baggage allowance is only 20-23kgs, you can still carry up to 30-32kgs per piece. You will just have to pay for excess baggage. But you can not overpack a bag over the maximum weight set by the airline per piece of bag (be it 30 or 32 kgs).

Standard FREE baggage allowance per class of service (tourist travel):

Destination: Asia/Europe/ME/Australia
Economy Class: No pc. restriction total at 20-23kgs
Premium Economy: No pc. restriction total at 25kgs
Business Class: No pc. restriction total at 30-35kgs
First Class: No pc. restriction total at 40kgs

Destination: US/Canada (Transpacific)
Economy: Two (2) pieces at 20-23kgs per piece
Premium Economy: Two (2) pieces at 25kgs per piece
Business Class: Two (2) pieces at 32kgs per piece
First Class: Two (2) pieces at 32kgs per piece

***Once again each airline may differ in their checked-in baggage policy so check with your respective airlines before you travel.***


List of some of the prohibited items in checked-in bags:

1. Flammable materials i.e. firecrackers, gasoline, lighter fluids (in big quantities)
2. Compressed gas
3. Spare lithium batteries i.e. cellphone, camera, batteries. But can be packed in carry ons (minimal number of pieces only)

For other prohibited items in checked bags, refer to your respective airlines.

We will be flying to SG this month. I have a question sa carry-on. Can I bring these?

Nabasa ko kasi bawal ang cable and wires, considered ba siya?

3. LAGs - do I need to take the ziplock/clear container out upon xray or kahit nasa loob ng bag ok lang?

Are phone charger and cable ok naman ano? Kasama na rin si powerbank?

Update lang. I was able to bring those two pero tinanong ko muna before checking in our luggage. Sabi kasi bawal wires sa carry-on sa Cebu Pac. Ang hahaba kasi ng cable wires na dala ko aside from my camera charger, yung sa Apple Watch sobrang haba haha

Mga sis may idea ba kayo kung may secure a bag or wrapping section for the luggage sa NAIA T3? First time ko dun mag departure lagi kasing T1 SO no idea. May luggage cover lang naman yong akin pero gusto ko sya pa wrap na lang para mas secure tsaka may mga fragile items kasi akong nasa check-in luggage ko.

hi,

ask ko lang if may idea kayo about hand carry baggage allowance ng cathay pacific sa hongkong. during stop over kasi, magshop kami outside hkia. counted ba yun weight ng mga pinamili namin outside hkia or hinde? magshopping kasi kami pero takot kami sa excess baggage fee 

sa singapore and thailand kasi hinde counted e. I wonder kung ganun din sa hongkong. TIA!

^huh? Di ba you're asking about the cabin bag allowance? I thought the info there was pretty comprehensive.  If you're traveling on economy allowed ka ng 7kgs lang + one personal item (i.e. small purse/bag, laptop bag, camera bag, etc.). Even if bumili ka sa labas and you'll hand carry whatever stuff you bought outside considered/counted as hand carry allowance mo yun pagpasok sa eroplano.

Now minsan swertihan din at depende sa flight kung sisingilin ka. I've encountered flights ex HKG na sinisingil ng ground staff yung pasahero sa boarding gate kung over sa allowance especially if the flights are full at wala ng space sa overhead bins. If you travel on business or first class hindi masyado strikto sa cabin baggage allowance since mas spacious yung overhead bins nila.

If I were you and takot kayo ma-charge ng excess, stick to the allowance. Otherwise, pray na lang na di kayo ma-charge in case over na yung bitbit ninyo.

^^ yes, I am aware sa hand carry baggage allowance namin. which is 7kg. ang tanong ko po, included ba yung pinamili outside hkia? like I said, sa sg kasi hinde. basta allowed ka ng 7kg. then yung mga items na pinamili mo sa duty free or outside airport, hinde na counted.

baka kasi may naka try na dito or nakakaalam kung pano sa hkia. pasensya na kung medyo magulo siguro yung tanong. and thank you na din po sa pag sagot.

@eleine26 tama sis. better stick to your hand carry baggage allowance. napansin ko lately medyo strict na ang mga airline at madalas talagang they weigh na the hand carry. we had a layover at hong kong last year enroute to frankfurt and they weighed our hand carry bags.

@elaine - Just to give you an idea.  I went home last year from London going to Manila.  Our stopover was Hong Kong.  I had with me my handcarry trolley and shoulder bag. When we landed in Hong Kong, something caught my eye, and so I decided to shop. When I got to my boarding gate, the flight attended informed me that my handcarry will need to be checked in because I have more hand carry than allowed. I normally don't shop sa airport kaya I didn't know. I thought it would be okay since my bag was already weighed sa London pa lang.
