Thanks for the comments on the rectangular tables, girls. Another thing about them daw is that they're space savers. Which might be handy for small venues with plenty of guests. Round tables occupy more space. Anyway thanks again and happy preps :)
sis caterpillar I agree too. We'll be having picnic tables and benches. Super space saver talaga knowing maliit venue namin. This is perfect too for our rustic theme.

What do you girls think of alternative weddings?

Throw out all the rule books. Don't follow the traditional weddings. Just doing your own thing. After all, it's your special day. Why not have it your way?

Conversely, why might you prefer a traditional wedding compared to an alternative wedding?

funny kase a few years ago my beki friend and i are talking about unique and unconventional weddings. ang gusto nya was underwater. the 'i do' part daw is gagawing okay sign na lang. tas pag di na makahinga at gusto na umahon, yung "out on air" sign na lang sa scuba diving hahaha! tapos yung trail na lalakaran nya (sya ang bride syempre), is from the shore papunta sa dagat hanggang nasa underwater na. grabe details ng unique wedding na naisip nya, haha

ako honestly i didn't have a picture of my dream wedding until we started discussing about it. i think ours is as 'personalized' as it can be. hindi rin gaanong traditional but not naman out of this world. the details are very personal to us. i guess that's what makes every wedding unique eh, the bride and the groom. the details of the wedding should reflect their relationship (kaya din di ako fan ng posey-posey pre and post nup photos hihi).

I actually prefer to have an all-adult entourage than one with young kids. From all the weddings I've experienced so far, every entourage with kids ends up with the yaya carrying or walking the kids down the aisle, tapos naka uniform or jeans lang sila, so nakaka-spoil ng theme and mood.

All-adult entourage kami kasi wala namang ka-close na bata.

I think nowadays madami na ding mga non-traditional weddings. If I had unlimited budget I'd probably go for something like Tessa Prieto's Game of Thrones themed wedding haha :-*

ang cute basahin lahat ng mga posts dito. it's nice that brides can get away with almost anything they want to do kasi it's their day naman. unlike before parents pa yung nagdidictate on what to do or even how the wedding should be.

anyway, share ko na din. our wedding is on the 28th na and we only have 37 adults + 5 kids.

* No VIP tables
* Formal wear pero sneakers for the male ento
* Hubby is planning to have a hiphop song for his march
* We'll have a small dance number right after the ceremony
* No principal sponsors
* I made our invites and printed here, placed it in a kraft paper. itatapon din naman nila yan haha
* I did our own wood signage
* satin ribbon bouquets for the ento (DIY ko din)
* lego bouts (my DIY too!)
* fabric flowers for me
* first dance is more like a club dance
* no bouquet and garter throw, it'll be games
* no cake cutting

nag iisip pa ko and looking for ideas para magmukang chillax lang talaga wedding namin. i will ask hubby pa to buy lots of beer para ok na ok mga bisita namin which are mostly friends. ilan lang talaga elders on our wedding hehe

Same here, we'd like to have a non-traditional wedding. I prefer to have a non-entourage ceremony and just have wedding rites only. Planning to have it in Caleruega hopefully but I have yet to get their confirmation if this is doable. We wanted to have a solemn wedding, max guest count is less than 40 (just immediate family and closest friends). Reception, we want a sit down dinner only at Antonio's, no program at all. Just a celebratory dinner. In addition, we will still hire p/v.

Question: do i still need to get OTD coordinator considering we opt for a very simple yet solemn wedding? Hope you can help me. Btw, Jan 2015 is our planned wedding date.

Many thanks!

^ sis pareho tayo ng wedding peg. wala na akong coordinator but i'm making sure ngayon that everything will be executed sa resort by having constant e-mail and texts with the events manager ng Sol Marina. aside from that, 1 friend will help me arrange the entourage, bring our lunch, make sure that my family will be there on time sa hotel namin, and check yung mga pinapagawa ko sa resort. he's no coordinator, no experience. bibigyan ko siya ng list kung anong gagawin after the ceremony.

during the reception naman, wala din kaming plan for program before. but since sayang yung 5 hours, one of our friends will host. my MOH will help us distribute the souvenirs and do other tasks na din. =)

we're 42 adults and 3 kids, final count na. =)

Nashare ko na to sa kabilang thread but para may maambag ako here's our plan.

1. I initially just wanted a civil wedding pero ayaw ng bf ko.

2. I'm not gonna spend so much i'd rather ipagawa yung bahay ko sa cavite than spending all our ipon sa wedding (just my opinion)

3. Caleruega 6pm wedding our motiff is black and white. Dec 25 2014. Para busog na ang mga tao at may mga bonus na sila.i want an evening wedding para more intimate! :)

4. We wont have any programs sa reception. Hindi ako masayaw or maspeech na tao so there. We'll be having our reception sa isang bulaluhan sa tagaytay. I've yet to check san ang open ng pasko. No cakes whatsoever, ill bring 3 boxes of glazed krispy kreme and will bring cupcake stand. Instand cake and dessert!

5. No OTD, no stylist i'll be decorating the church with soo many candles in jars and lanterns. No flowers. I have no budget for flowers. And dragon fireworks too! I dont want so many decors, the church itself is beautiful na.

6.  We recently bought our wedding rings sa silverworks worth P2200. Its bulletproof, nothing to lose, fire away, fire away. Yes, a cheap titanium ring.

7. No bridal car for me. Tricycle lang. Madaming tricycle sa evercrest. Magkano lang yun.

8. Gowns of entourage sagot nila. We're college classmate ni bf and we have the same set of friends kaya no problem. I'm an only child so buong ento namin tropa namin ng college. ;) i told them na simple black dress na same cloth para mas okay! For guys naman suit sila.

9. Im planning not to wear a gown. Just a simple cream dress na below the knee with short veil lang hanggang bewang.  Sana puwede sa caleruega.

10. No photo. No video. I have dslr ill bring tripod nalang tas play ko nalang for video. Lol i doubt pa this. I asked one of our friends na ayaw mag abay dahil mag bf/gf sila and may pamahiin daw na bawal magsabay sa ento. Siya ang official photographer.

I asked my inaanak na anak ng ento, sister ni bf and pamangkin niyang 2. Lol so fine. Pagumiyak labas ng church.

12. Total of 40 adults and 4 kids. Wala kaming ininvite na hindu namin parehong kakilala personally. College friends and families lang.

Sorry ang haba. ;)

^sis aicute if you have friends na may dslr encourage them to bring their own. Google mo this: axel and isabelle wedding in taramindu.
Wala silang official p/v pero damn the photos are really good, lahat amateur takes lang ng mga guests nila na may dslr. Tas maganda pa lahat ng angles kuha, imagine having 10 or so cameras around you compared sa p/v na 2-3 lang. I suggest na di lang smart phone photos kase maganda din may printed photos kayo, for blow up and also for nostalgia na din. Hehe

2 lang may dslr samin sis simang. Ako and yung friend ko. So most likely puro smartphones. Ill make sure no one will have flash on dahil gabi yun eh. I want the church ceremony to be specila and intimate. Ahahahaha

Hi girls,

I just want to share my wedding last june7, some were non-traditional like my bouquet & i also wore sneakers during the reception, sa church naka heels ako but it was my old one. Hindi na ako bumili ng shoes kasi hindi naman talaga ako nagheheels. what i bought is the keds sneakers- yung glittery one. hehe.

I also have my flowers not fresh & white. It was colorful made of felt cloth.

Magiging magulo kaya pag ganun?

before i had a kid minsan naiinis ako sa parents na naging dependent sa anak pero now that i'm a parent - i understand na no matter how you plan financially for the kid minsan hindi enough with all the rising prices and all.

Dun sa mga stress na nag bibigay isipin nyo nalang mga sis na baka when you were younger your parents gave you everything they could kaya they werent able to plan for their retirement. Can you really blame them for wanting to give you the best that they could (im sure most moms can relate na minsan kahit na gapang na you'll try your best to provide the best quality education etc to the point na wala ka ng nasesave)

try to be more understanding, remember when they had you they provided you all they could at that time (in most cases ha)

wish ko lang ngayon makapag start na ko mag ipon for retirement para di ko maburden anak ko at the same time makapag provide ako ng best. So hoping na di na masyado tumaas masyado bilihin.  grabe kasi tax and inflation!! grr
