Tagaytay (Thread 9)

hi sisses! i'm planning to take my four year old daughter sa tagaytay, any recommendations on where we can stay na affordable and accessible via commute. kami lang kasing dalawa kaya yung hindi sana gaanong hassle puntahan. also, below is my planned itinerary, okay na kaya to? di ba mahirap kung jeep/trike lang kami?

any suggestions on what else we can do?

Sis purple_girl, if you're not eyeing hotels talaga, ok na sa Keni Po. From Rotonda pa-kaliwa sya, en route to Picnic Grove and People's Park. It's just on the main road so you can ride a jeep going there and going to your itinerary destinations. Malapit lang din sya sa Java Jazz. And if I'm not mistaken most of the destinations mo for Day 1 is on that side of the rotonda, tapos yung day 2 pakanan naman from Rotonda so sakto din.

We stayed there last Feb 3 sa family room, 2k per night. They also have smaller rooms, I think 1500 per night naman sya. Clean and comfortable yung rooms and maayos yung place. They also have a small pool. Lots of good feedback about them here on GT.

Fully-packed itinerary mo sis, looks like it's going to be fun!

thanks sis! medyo pricey kasi sa hotels and limited lang budget ko kaya ok na ko sa keni po as long as chikd friendly naman yung place and malinis.

i'm also thinking about bringing my daughter to ilog ni maria or any farm nearby na open kaya lang baka malayo na talaga. i want to maximize talaga sana yung stay namin sa tagaytay and mapasyalan as many places as we can but would still depend pa rin kay little girl baka kasi ayaw niya o sobrang pagod na. 😊

^sis parang mahirap mag-commute to ilog maria. malayo kasi siya from the main road, mga 700 meters na lakaran. pwede siguro if you can hire a tricycle na maghahatid sa inyo dun. baka mapagod lang little girl mo. parang siksik na nga itinerary nyo.

^ay... ganun ba sis? hmmm.... i guess next time na lang yung ilog maria pag may car. masyado na bang marami yung sa itinerary? i guess we can skip sonya's and tierra de maria in case di na kaya.

saan yung tierra de maria and japanese friendship garden? ano pa ba ang pwedeng puntahan sa tagaytay? we're always there kaya we've seen a lot na. we've been to sonya's, sky ranch, people's park, picnic grove, bag of beans, good shepherd, residence inn.

we're planning on treking as well.

may iba pa ba mapupuntahan sa tagaytay?

everytime uuwi kami ng tagaytay super nagccrave kami sa bulalo sa mahogany market. we usually stay at sonya's din kasi very peaceful and relxing ng place. favorite din namin mag drop by sa japanese surplus for cheap yet classy items. haha

below is the information i got sa net regarding tierra de maria and japanese friendship garden.  nakita ko lang sa must see places to visit kaya sinama ko sa list ko.  will be figuring out pa how to go dun:

Japanese Friendship Garden
This 1,200-square-metre (13,000 sq ft) garden was constructed to inculcate the value of freedom, peace and international unity into the hearts and minds of the people. It is located in front of Development Academy of the Philippines Conference Center, in Brgy. Sungay East.

Tierra de Maria

Tierra de Maria is just across Development Academy of the Philippines and near the Tagaytay Picnic Grove.

^^not sure lang sis sa trekking, ok lang siguro kaya lang baka masyadong mapagod si kiddo.

katabi lang ng picnic grove ang tierra de maria.  maliit lang sya pero malaki yung image ni mother mary sa labas kaya kitang kita.

1. saan ang sasakyan ng bus/ shuttle van ng papuntang tagaytay
2. ilang oras po ang papunta doon

bale manggagaling kami ng cybergate plaza (go hotel)...naliligaw kasi ako ng maynila since taga province ako mga sis...

sa KENI PO may lake and volcano view ba? may cheap accommodation ba (not necessarily hotel) sa tagaytay na may pool tapos overlooking ang lake and volcano? cheapest ko palang nakita sa net is Days Hotel. Wala na bang cheaper dun? like 2k downward na rate per night for two

purple_girl: if I may comment on your iti specifically on Sonya's we've been in sonya's and I can say malayo siya, actually hindi na nga siya tagaytay ask around sis magkano pamasahe para may idea ka kayo ng baby girl mo. If I'm not mistaken may pila ata ng trike sa labas ng sonya medyo malayo kasi siya sa mainroad. At sis, if you plan having lunch there, you can call them for reservations pero kung konti naman tao pwede na walk-in, again medyo mahal din siya sa usual. Pero hindi naman kumpleto punta ng Tagaytay pag hindi napuntahan ang Sonya's, I'm just setting your expectations since you're with your kid, in budget and commute anyways, happy trip

madami sis, grabe ang traffic ng tagaytay pag holy week..every year dun kami nag bibisita iglesia grabe naman talaga hindi na gumagalaw yung mga sasakyan pag dating ng 5pm..
