I pulled out my 2 COP and discontinued the program. Not worth na ngayon ang BDO EIP, natulog lang ang 20k ko.

Request to liquidate the COP was last Friday (i forgot to take note what is the current NAVpu then):

1 COP = liquidated at value 9,982.53
2 COP = liquidated at value 10,078.77

So total of 61.3 pesos kinita ko since Aug 2013. Hahaha!

Then since i stopped without completing the COP, nacharge yung 2k ko, bale 1,990.95 na lang nakuha ko don.

Bale total of 52.25 lang ang kinita ko all in all.  ::) :-X ;D

not worth it pala ang BDO EIP at this time, thanks for the heads up sis!

The statement that BDO's EIP is not performing well is
misleading.
Remember EIP is just a facility so you can invest in
a regular fashion and most important of all, you can
invest as low as 1k per month. Parang installment plan.

The funds qualified for EIP are what you are referring
to. There's the equity, balanced, fixed income and money
market funds.

@mrscardenas, it looks like you dove in without fully
understanding how the fund works?

I suggest you do the next time you invest again.

I started on the later part of May of last year
And as of Friday, I have the following gains
Fixed Income : 3%
Equity: 14%

As a rule, Equity funds require longer time frames
than Bond funds.

@mrscardenas2011 sis, anong type ng UITF mo? Fixed Income, Money Market, Balanced or Equity?

Mine is Equity, 2K EIP monthly and here's the current performance:

May 2013 (EIP started in January 2013) = -291.06 (negative)
October 2013 = +402.29
March 2014 = +681.95
April 2014 = +15.23
May 2014 = +28.27

yung April and May 2014 hindi pa sya complete pero, nag-earn na sya.

syempre investing in UITFs (or MFs) carry risks, equity being the riskiest kasi the fund is primarily invested in stocks. last year grabe binagsak ng market, from all time high, nagsimulang mag-decline nung May. i invest in the stock market too and i have BDO shares bought in May 2013 before bumagsak yung market. nag-loss sya up to -25%  :o and until now negative pa rin pero around -2% na lang. i did not add from my initial investment. positive gain na sana yun now if nag-cost averaging ako. parang same concept of EIP ;)

so ideally, you should be investing for the long term lalo na kung equity - minimum 3 years, some say 5 years pa nga. maybe UITF is not the right investment vehicle lang for you sis :)

@honeys
you're not doing yourself any favors by monitoring your
investment daily.
hindi to stock market.

@mrscardenas2011, I did not mean to offend you.
I was just stating an observation based on what
you said here:
"I pulled out my 2 COP and discontinued the program.
Not worth na ngayon ang BDO EIP, natulog lang ang 20k ko."

Your experience might turn you off
investing and this might cause you to either
take unnecessary risk like investing in those
schemes that have guaranteed big returns
that always turns out to be scams in the end.

Or maybe you'll just leave your money in
a time deposit and then your money will
be eaten up by inflation.

But bottom line is you need to educate yourself
more so you can act with the proper knowledge in the future.  ;)

@honeys, if you think you can ignore the ups
and downs then yeah, there's no harm in monitoring
your investment.

But with that said, there are countless studies that show that
humans are an emotional lot(big surprise) and seeing your investment going down
day by day would quickly discourage you and you'd exit
out of your investment at the wrong time.

But again, we're not created equal.
I do not monitor my investments daily per se but I do get
the NAV daily so I can enter it in Quicken.

I've found that when I see my investment going to down,
I get an urge to increase my investment. Because in my mind
everything is on sale.

I'm so lucky to have this mindset I guess. Most people(daw)
cannot stomach seeing their investment going down let alone
add even more money in.

(I found that I can only do this on UITFs and MFs, stocks not
included. For some reason, I get stomachaches if dealing with
stocks  ;D)
