@mrscardenas2011, I did not mean to offend you.
I was just stating an observation based on what
you said here:
"I pulled out my 2 COP and discontinued the program.
Not worth na ngayon ang BDO EIP, natulog lang ang 20k ko."
Your experience might turn you off
investing and this might cause you to either
take unnecessary risk like investing in those
schemes that have guaranteed big returns
that always turns out to be scams in the end.
Or maybe you'll just leave your money in
a time deposit and then your money will
be eaten up by inflation.
But bottom line is you need to educate yourself
more so you can act with the proper knowledge in the future.
@honeys, if you think you can ignore the ups
and downs then yeah, there's no harm in monitoring
your investment.
But with that said, there are countless studies that show that
humans are an emotional lot(big surprise) and seeing your investment going down
day by day would quickly discourage you and you'd exit
out of your investment at the wrong time.
But again, we're not created equal.
I do not monitor my investments daily per se but I do get
the NAV daily so I can enter it in Quicken.
I've found that when I see my investment going to down,
I get an urge to increase my investment. Because in my mind
everything is on sale.
I'm so lucky to have this mindset I guess. Most people(daw)
cannot stomach seeing their investment going down let alone
add even more money in.
(I found that I can only do this on UITFs and MFs, stocks not
included. For some reason, I get stomachaches if dealing with
stocks

)
