Baguio restaurants:

Rose Bowl - I did not like a single dish here.  We ordered beef mami, wanton mami,siopao and siomai.  Lahat yan sub-standard and tasteless.

Forest House (re-discovery) - the food here was not as I remembered it.  Although my balikbayan relatives enjoyed the pancit, sinigang na bagnet and pakbet (tagalog, not Ilocano version), I did not appreciate my saucy carbonara.  Mahal pa.  Manila (as in makati or taguig) prices for so-so food.

Tajimaya - the food was great! yakiniku siya so mag-grill grill. they make use of charcoal so it really brings the best taste in the meat. tapos yung inavail namin is eat all you can. sa first round they served shrimps, squidballs, sausages, squid, pork, chicken and my fave, the beef! super sarap nung beef kasi marinated! same with the chicken it has a marinate as well, teriyaki-ish siya. the sausage is define, lotsa fats! haha! tapos on the second round you can just choose ano yung mga nagustuhan mo. unlimited iced tea and rice din and they got lettuce so you can do it samgyupsal-style. i love it though the down side is that may time limit na 90 minutes. good thing sanay na kami sa grilling ni bf so hehe they cant get the better of us. lol.

Very happy ako sa xmas dinner namin sa spectrum. Ang sarap ng filipino dishes pati selection sa grilling station. Mas maalaga rin sila nun xmas dinner kaya naappreciate ko. Haha nun nagbayad ako nalaman ko rason bakit feeling ko ang galing nun serbisyo nila

Ninak (kapitolyo, pasig) - gusto dito ng sis ko kaya nag-try kami. Ok lang naman ang food at ok rin serbisyo.

Epic cafe - ang sarap ng french toast dito. Simple lang at hindi masyado matamis. Bitin lang ang serving nila at d fluffy ang scrambled egg.

I have been seeing and passing by Duo Steakhouse in Serendra but have not tried it until last Saturday. I was pleasantly suprised to find out that their food is really good and the prices are just right. I had dinner with 2 of my friends and we ordered their pasta platter and wings and ribs. The pasta platter had penne cheese, aglio olio, and pomodoro. The portions are just right, the pasta perfectly al dente, and super tasty. The wings and ribs platter naman are also big in portions. I liked that the ribs were tender and tasty, the sauce not too overwhelming.

I ate at three of Manila's tonkatsu restaurants in a span of one week (mostly because these were the choice of my friends): Yabu, Saboten and just today, Tonkatsu by Terezawa.  I realized hindi pala talaga ako mahilig sa katsu. Wala akong makitang difference masyado sa tatlo, halos pare parehas orders ko sa kanilang three : yung set na may prawn, may porkloin and may pork. And sa panlasa ko walang masyadong difference except yung timpla ng sauce.  So ang pinakaslightly mas gusto ko sa tatlo eh yung para sa akin eh mas masarap na sauce, Saboten.  Pass muna ako sa katsu restaurants from today on, Nakaquota na ako sa katsu eating haha.

Last night kumain kami ng mga colleagues ko sa Fresh - Solaire Resorts and Casino Buffet and resto, allergic ako sa shrimp na hindi fresh, pero since Fresh naman ang name ng Buffet Resto so I tried to eat 2 small shrimp, paguwi ko ng house nagpantal ang buong katawan ko, and some of my colleague really feedback and hindi fresh ang lasa ng mga seafood nila dun, pero super panalo ang desert at sushi buffet..

had dinner last night with a friend at faburitto in eastwood. I had the corn soup, steak burrito and mint iced tea (Php350) and my friend had the soft tacos, quesadillas, fruit bowl and fruit iced tea (Php420). we both found the food a bit bland and overpriced BUT because there weren't really other people in the resto, the staff was super helpful, super attentive and quite generous. they gave me a couple of extra salsas and sauces to try with my buritto. I think it kinda made up for the lackluster food. so my rating: PWEDE NA.

Hi sis. The reason why the food (mostly all) is bland is because they do not serve meals with sugar (even the drinks), MSG, and preservatives. I understand you since that was my verdict when I first dined here. Even the drinks, super tabang! But now, I appreciate the freshness of the meals they serve, feeling ko im getting healthier and hindi ako tumataba kahit ang dami kong kinakain. I dine at their branch in The Columns Makati almost every working day

Hubby and I had lunch at IHOP Moa yesterday. We ordered the following:
Big steak omelette: it was ok but parang may kulang. It goes well with the salsa. It came with 2 bttermilk pancakes but we opted to upgrade it to new york cheesecake pancake which is their best seller. The new york cheesecake pancake was good pero wala akong nalasahang cheesecake.
Sirloin tips dinner: hubby and i loved this. The meat was very tender and flavorful.
Peach vanilla stuffed french toast: this is my fave. It goes perfectly with their old-fashioned maple syrup.
Iced tea: yummy

Rustic Mornings

The food is great but service was very slow when we dined there.  I liked the pancakes, hash browns and bacon.  The tapa is on the sweet side and the French toast, too cloyingly sweet.  It's a refreshing place for Marikina residents.

hi sis bebeloo! I didn't know that, but the staff did say that their strength is their healthier food compared to other places. siguro I can come back and try it again. nagkataon lang kasi, when I ate there, I was with a friend na medyo matakaw kami pag magkasama! LOL. in fairness to faburrito, kahit healthy food sila, maayos naman.

my family ate again in tamagoya recently. rediscovery sya for me because the first time I went there, I ordered the ramen (really good ramen).this time, I ordered the Japanese rice and chicken karaage. sarap din pala ng rice! my husband, who ordered ramen, finished his whole bowl and ate pa half of my order. nag-enjoy talaga sya! malaki din ang serving so kahit half lang kinain ko, nabusog pa rin ako. best part is, the prices are so affordable. so for me, worth it naman the drive.

Mey lin in megamall. The food tastes good. I've been craving for wai ying for the longest but i just cant go there kasi it's too far from home (both binondo and dlsu branches) so i guess i can make it as the slightly more expensive but nearer to home substitute. Theseafood noodle was really very fresh andthe vegetables in it were perfect. Fishcake masarap din! The  spareribs rice topping too, i love! First time to try the mapu tofu, okay siya for me, it's the soft kind but there's a very likeable firmness at the end of the bite. Not hot enough daw sabi ni boyfie but ayoko naman sa masyaong maanghang so okay na sa akin. Haha!

Rustic Mornings by Isabelo

We had brunch here yesterday with my husband, daughter, and friends. I ordere pancakes, bacon and hash brown, my husband had waffles buffalo chicken and salad. Servings are huge, the pancakes are fluffy and creamy. I love their homemade pancake syrup too. We also ordered a banana split which was so huge we had a hard time finishing it.

The atmosphere is really nice, that's why we chose to dine at the garden instead of the airconditioned area. I didnt get to see the final bill since my friend paid for everything behind our back I would definitely come back

Cafe shibuyA, gusto ko ang dining chairs nila wish ko malaman sino gumawa. Anyway, ang sarap nun cheese toast nila at triple chocolate shake. Yun hazelnut toast sarap rin.

Nagustuhan ng mister ko ang pasta nila na may cod roe ako nalansahan kaya d ko nakain masyado.


Nag chicken karaage daughter ko, pasado naman yun chicken pero yun rice masyadong oily hindi nakain.

Nag order rin sya ng below zero pero d naubos d nya nagustuhan.


Next time puro toasts lang ioorder namin d masyadong ok rice meal nila pati pasta.

Re-discovery: Café on the Ridge, Taal Vista Hotel

Nagpalit yata ng chef.  The buffet spread of mostly Filipino and Spanish dishes has improved a lot.  I so love the bangus sardines, binagoongan na eggplant, pako salad and home-made ice cream (flavor: macapuno with leche flan).  I also like the tinolang manok, grilled squid and paella (good enough).

Ba Noi's at UPTC

Not as good as Ba Noi's at its former Legaspi Village branch.  We didn't finish the goi cuon - hindi masarap ang dipping sauce and mas maraming vermicelli than sahog.  My dry noodles was good though mas masarap the dry noodles from Bawai's.

If you are in QC and craving Vietnamese, go to Bawai's at White Plains instead.  Much better ang quality of the food there.

rediscover: yabu

i ate there 2 or 3 years ago when it had just opened. i remember feeling just ok about the food. nothing spectacular and the service then was harried and bordering on poor, at best.

but over the weekend, we went to yabu at sm aura. the line was incredibly long but since we had GCs, we decided to walk around the mall first and have them call us once they had a table. we ended up going back to the resto before they called us so i wont know if they really would have called. the good thing is, we were seated agad once we went back. the service was much better this time. i really enjoyed the food as well, but honestly, im not blown away so i can come back if someone asks me to have lunch or dinner there but it wont likely be a top-of-mind choice for me.

Masarap halos lahat ng inorder namin especially the steamed salmon.  Ok din ang service.  Medyo expensive lang ng konti.

Elias by Crisostomo at Robinson's Magnolia:
I love the ambiance of this resto. Sarap din ng food nila and generous din ang servings kaya super busog kami ni hubby. We had pinoy paella, kare kare and laing with lechon kawali. We love all the food talaga. Filipino food siya na high end. I wanted to try their suman with chocolate fondue sana kaso di na kaya super busog na kami. We will definitely dine here again.
