@ sis michipoo: Apply mo lang the cream on the flaky and red areas. If whole face ang flaky then, apply it on whole face.

UPDATE: june 14 ,2013. 100% Clear na ulit because the weather is returning back to normal. The summer heat gave me whiteheads sa nose and oiliness.

Mga sissies I strongly suggest you try the acne.org regimen (www.acne.org) . It has kept me clear for almost 5 years. You dont necessarily have to buy his products. You can buy benzoyl peroxide in our local drugstores. Benzac is the best substitute since its mild and doesnt contain alcohol like panoxyl. But our drug stores only carry Benzac 5%, its effective but can be irritating for beginners. You can do a search for benzac in Sulit website and look for a local seller for the preferred Benzac 2.5%.

Through research and personal experience I have created this regimen. I believe it will work for the majority of people with mild to moderate acne. If you have cystic or really bad acne you should just see a doctor before it scars and ask for Acnetrex.

1) Wash face twice daily with gentle cleanser(Cetaphil) , apply Benzac, and moisturize (Follow acne.org regimen and please do this twice a day)

2) Drink 2 table spoons Apple Cider Vinegar twice daily. (kunin nyo yung Bragg's na brand)

3) Avoid milk/DAIRY PRODUCTS at all costs. Milk is taken from pregnant cows with raging hormones. A recent study said people who drank 3 servings of milk a day were 44% more likely to suffer from acne than those who drank none.

4) Avoid high gi carbs/sugar/chocolates/ice cream/wheat/GLUTEN as they cause an insulin spike. I dont know of any scientific evidence to support this, but when I removed sugar,  white bread and wheat, noodles, any kind of pasta and stopped drinking energy drinks, my skin cleared up quickly. Try to keep insulin at a steady level throughout the day.

5) Avoid caffeine, smoking and alcohol. ( I stopped these and skin improved significantly as well)

6) Drink as much water as possible. This helps your kidneys function better taking some stress of your skin. (avoid juices, iced tea, soft drinks)

7) Supplement with  Vitamin D 2000 iu and Zinc 50mg,  and Vitamin C 1000mg daily.

ALWAYS sleep with a clean pillow case. Change pillow case/sheet EVERYDAY. I stopped doing this when I learned how to sleep Face-up. And also dont rest your hands on your face while sleeping.

9) Never touch face except when doing the Regimen. NEVER POP,squeeze and pick zits. If you get a big zit one day, have it injected by your derma or aesthetician. If after injection and its still there, ask your derm for a 2 week course of Lymecycline Tetralysal oral antibiotic to kill the mean pimple/cyst/nodule.

10) Sleep 8 hours a day

11) Stop eating junk food/salty food

Products I use

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
Benzac AC gel 2.5% (i use this in the morning to avoid irritation / only half a finger's length)
Benzac AC gel 5% (i use this at night full finger)
Kirkland Vitamin D 2000 iu
Zinc 50mg
Ester-C Vitamin C 1000mg
Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar

Lumak, nagelevatei yung pimple lalo and namaga.
Sobrang natakot ako. I purchased mupirucin antibiotic.  1 day lang heal agad. Meaning gumgrabe na talaga infection ng pimple ko. Ang now flat na siya.
Kaya mga sis never ever pick your pimple lalo na pag cystic.
Im super namomoroblema sa scar ang puti panaman ng face ko.

anyone else suffering from open pores?? Anong best solution dito??

Steam? Painit ka lang ng water. Tapos pag mainit na tapat mo lang yung face mo dun with a towel over your head. It helps to close pores. Pero syempre dapat you wash your face muna. Pag hindi kasi, baka makulong yung dirts inside your pores :D

Sorry pero baliktad... You need cold water to close pores.  Steam is for opening pores (to clean them).

I often have cystic acnes on my cheeks which may be caused by my conditioner but I have difficulty in looking for a mild conditioner that is good for rebonded hair. DUAC does not work for me so I might try TBS tea tree as suggested by one of our sis here.

Lately one of my cousins got really bad acne. She tried so many medicines, including Tetralysal. So she asked me to refer her to my derma. My derma said that my cousin has rosacea. So binigyan sya ng Robaz cream. In just a few days, yong redness and pimples sa face nya, talagang kumonti. My derma said that rosacea is misdiagnosed most of the time by other dermas so maraming patients na hindi gumagaling sa mga usual treatments.

i stopped taking tetralysal.  halos ilang buwan ko rin 'to tinake kasi sabi sakin dati nung derma ok lang daw to continue.  then just recently, when i had my facial (after so many months of absence), hindi lahat na-prick because i have pimples nga. i don't know what triggers it pero nagbalikan pimples ko, not naman cystic pero tabi-tabi sila.  so after facial, binalik ko yung dati kong regimen, except for tetralysal, that is applying acne toner, acne cream and tretinoin at night.  after almost a week after my facial, my beauty consultant ask me if i wanted to have diamond peel.  gusto ko sana kaso nga may pimples pa ko so she suggested to have it injected and checked with the derma.  so i agreed.  i still have those packages pa naman with them.  so when the derma checked my face and i told her the history of my pimples, she told me to stop using tetralysal kasi di naman daw long term cure yun.  and instead of acne solution/toner, she recommends clarifying lotion instead para hindi drying.  no more acne cream and tretinoin.  ang pinalit nya sa tretinoin is adapalene.  one night ko pa lang nagamit yung adapelene then the next day nagpa-diamond peel na ko.  sinamahan pa ng nutracell.  ok naman yung result after kasi parang mas kuminis daw face ko though may pimple marks pa rin.  siguro nagmukha lang closed or lumiit pores.

i researched na may purging effect daw yung adapalene.  pero sakin, almost 2 weeks ko nang gamit, di naman super purging pero may konting pimples and whiteheads na lumabas, pero di naman sobrang dami.  parang feeling ko nga walang effect sakin yung adapalene.  by July babalik ako ulit to have my facial at the same time, mag consult ulit ako sa doctor kung mukha bang may improvement sa face ko.
