Noong kaka-graduate pa lang, my folks refused monetary contributions from me since they didn't need it. Pero kahit pipitsugin ang earnings ko noon  :P I paid for some of the utilities, gas, groceries, gifts, or whatever. Even if they refused my money I put aside a percentage pa rin that's solely for them. Same percentage every month, every year, kahit nakabukod na ako sa kanila.

As the years passed, kahit lumalaki ang earnings ko, I still put aside that same percentage, which means lumalaki rin ang amount na nakalaan sa kanila. Some of it I give to them, some I still put in an account or investments. Never silang humingi sa akin, but that's not a reason na tumigil sa pagbibigay. Well-off sila o hindi, whether they admit it to us or not, they will need us children more as the years pass. And they deserve to be comfortable and taken care of.

Sis summersong i super like this;

"Well-off sila o hindi, whether they admit it to us or not, they will need us children more as the years pass. And they deserve to be comfortable and taken care of. "

Supet agree kaya ako kahit married na at ok naman kita ni hubby, the main reason why i still want to work is because of my parents.

That's just how my parents see it. They tell me kasi to save money for my future and I'm doing it naman pero syempre since I'm working na I give them something. What I give is not actually money. My sister has no job kasi ngayon so I help her. I buy my niece her gatas (which is super mahal by the way), diaper, ceelin and her ventolin nebules stock. I think that's a big thing na.

Last Sunday, nung father's day we went to the mall and nagcontribute din ako para i-treat si daddy. Sobrang I love him! He's the best dad ever and nobody will ever love me the way he does. We went to Megamall and ate sa Sizzling Steak House, which is super sarap ng meals! Panalo! Nagkaiyakan pa nga kami ng konti kasi my ate was tagged in one video about Father's Day and emotional kasi kaming lahat. Even my dad is iyakin hahaha! Thought I'd share it na rin dito since nabanggit ko na. You should check it! You'll appreciate your dads more lalo sa mga daddy's girl like me :P

Hope it's okay to share this.

My mother is a single parent ever since and now she's alone already I'm giving her 3k every payday and I'm paying for the house that we loan in Bulacan monthly which is 3.6k per month. I also treat her in a nice restaurant nad I'm the one who's buying her basic necessities. I love my mom so much!  :D

We are not obliged to give money to our parents.  They have more than enough for themselves as it is.
On the other hand, my parents believe in living below their means so I try to give them gifts as much as I can.  From time to time, I invite them out and pay for the dinners and would love to send them abroad - first class - next time.
For now, I'm happy that I can give them branded clothes and bags because I know they won't buy it even if they can afford to.

breadwinner ako since i started working. nagstart ako sa 1500 per payday. ngayon 7k per payday bigay ko. so in one month, 14k. on top pa un bayad sa internet monthly. paminsan minsan nagbibigay pa ko additional pag may extra gastos at pag kinakapos kami.

Before when i was still single and had my first job, i gave my mom 3k every payday.

when I started working, I already had my share in the household expenses, it started with utilities, groceries then until house rent. I give money to my parents from time to time aside from these. When I got married and both my parents and I moved to another house (we live in the same condo, different floors), no specific amount na. I give them money for food or kung sabay kami mag grocery, ako na magbabayad.

my 2 brothers eh recently lang nakakapagbigay ng share nila pero both of them are married na. I'm thinking of a business that my parents can manage para dun na sila kumuha ng daily expenses nila since my mom is retiring next year. I bring out my family once in a while, dinner after mass, out of town trips, etc.

Do you give your inlaws, same amount or equivalent to your parents? or you let your hubby do it for them?

Breadwinner ako ng family ko since i started working 9 years din yon. Pero ngayong may-asawa na ako i stop giving them na its time to think about myself and my own family naman.

Mahirap kasi pag money, ndi mo alam kung san nappunta unless sila ang manghingi.

When I was living with my family, mainly sagot ko yung groceries and utilities. When I moved to Manila to work, I sent them 5K/month. Now that I'm married, my husband and I agreed that 20% of my salary will be given to my family. In-laws ko naman kasi well-off. Sila pa nga nagbibigay sa aming mag-asawa  ;D But we do give my in-laws gifts during special occasions. ;)

Before when i still have siblings studying I'm shouldering the tuition fees..they're 3 - 2 college and 1 HS good thing sa state university nag-aaral yung dalawa and yung HS lang ang nasa Private school + monthly allowance sa bahay. Now na retired na ang father ko and 1 still in college I'm sending 6.5-7k a month na lang for their monthly allowance. Meron naman silang sari-sari store and small lending business  to support other needs..and province life naman is so simple kaya wala masyadong extra expenses.

It's different in other cultures, we don't give our parents money - pride nila that they can provide for themselves and may pamana p daw. I can afford to give my parents allowance but I'm sure my siblings will not share since we all know our parents have money nga so hindi nalang talaga. Lalo naman with my in laws they give is 20k p nga as money gift on their birthdays basta present lang kami.
