@Leven: hi sis. Are you from Cebu?? Wala kasi ako idea sa rate jan. Pero here in Manila kasi iba-iba rate ng mga developmental pedia. Sa devped namin 3500. I think nag sa start yan 3000 pataas. Check ka muna sa pedia ng anak mo kung may irerefer siya na devped jan sa area niyo. Tapos mag pa schedule kna kaagad kasi usually blockbuster ang pila. After ma assess ng devped ang anak mo siya magbibigay ng list ng mga therapy centers.

you can check this thread sis. Nakapag post ako ng mga list ng centers na natanungan ko at yung initial evaluation at per session rate para may idea ka. Sana makatulong

I have handled kids of different ages diagnosed with ADHD. Ang good thing with ADHD is that , from experience, good prognosis ang ADHD amongst other developmental disorders.. With proper intervention and therapy... Personally, yun drug na pinaiinom, I don't really care for it, angdaming side effects

I just knew it today..Justin Timberlake, Adam Levine, Will I.Am., Will Smith, Michael Jorda, Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, Pres. John F. Kennedy, Paris Hilton and Jim Carrey.. at marami pang sikat na hollywood stars admitted na they had ADHD pala noong mga bata pa sila..Somehow sis, medyo lumuwag loob ko..eventually pala mag kacalm down din sila with early intervention and proper care..

^ early intervention talaga is very important.   Time is of the essence sa mga ganitong bagay. Kahit sa mga developmental delays, the earlier madetect the better, the earlier matherapy, the better.

Sis, advise naman. Anong advantage at disadvantage kung yung school ng bata e walang SPED na teacher o hindi SPED school..I'm scouting kasi of schools na ienroll ko yung toddler ko na 4 yrs old na may possible adhd..June 9 pa kasi schedule namin sa developmental pedia niya.

Advantage: sped teachers have studied a s trained on how to handle kids with special needs. Example, cognitive aspect (how to teach matching concept), handle behavior problems experienced in class, etc.. Also,most likely maliit classroom ratio
Disadvantage: deathly expensive here. Think more or less x2 ng usual tuition fee.

Pero sis di ba, yung mga classmates nila doon e ganun din? Hindi ba makakasama sa kanila yung iexpose sila sa kapwa nilang sobrang hyper or mas malala pa yung conditon? Yun kasi ang kinatatakot ko sis.

^ I have seen over the years na magkakasama sila sa isang room. for me Hindi naman sis.  Say may maladaptive behavior yun isa, may immediate feedback naman yun teacher. If mangagaya nafefeedback naman na to stop or don't do it

Nirecommend ba ng doctor nyo sis na sped school?

June 9 pa yung schedule namin sis..ipapaassess ko pa cya kung may adhd ba talaga..feeling ko kasi meron..ok naman yung memory niya, amazing nga eh..kaso lang walang focus..tsaka hindi mo mapa upo..tapos kung anong gusto niya..yun talaga or else biglang sisigaw or iiyak. Kaya I was thinking kung pareho sila ng classmates niyang ganun e baka lumala pa..hehe

Pero ako naman sis kung saan best sa toddler ko doon na ako..I thought kasi kung iexpose siya sa may adhd din lalala.

@rhumbafrapp:sis ask lang ako. based on your experience yung kids ba with ADD nag aavoid ba sila ng eye contact/ short eye contact ? kasi nung nagpa check kami with devped proactive naman si doc. Baka daw ASD or ADD pero on august pa talaga malalaman for re assessment. Nag try ako mag research about ADD parang lagi siyang associated with ADHD pero sila yata yung mga hindi hyper pero short attention span (not sure).

Tinawagan nga ako noong Tuesday sis..papuntahin kami last Wednesday kasi may nagcancel daw..e duty naman ako..sayang..Monday and Tuesday lang kasi off ko..sana natawagan ako 3-5 days ahead kasi magfile talaga ako ng leave..Hayys..sobrang worry na talaga ako sa baby ko..I'm so happy na may thread na ganito at least na eeducate tayo..thanks talaga sis.

hello mga sis!

when my son was 2 years old our pedia suggested ipaconsult namin siya sa dev pedia medyo delayed kase sya magsalita. consistent naman un follow up namin sa dev pedia and naka- OT and Speech sya once a week and kinder 1 sya sa Montessori school .

ito un mga diagnosis sa son ko:

July 2013 - Mixed Receptive - Expressive Language Disorder
Nov 2014 - Communication Disorder (monitor social skills and attention)
Sep 2015 - Communication Disorder (probably Language Disorder)
July 2016 - Language Disorder (monitor signs of inattention/hyperactivity; at risk of ADHD)

no regression naman siya sa griffith test lahat ng scale may improvement,  sa ibang scale konti na lang at par na age nya,  though distinct pa rin un delay nya sa speech scale. sa observation ni dec pedia red flag nya un pagiging fidgety and "get distracted specially between task"

now dev ped suggests to give med (Ritalin) to address his attention. 

nagtatake ba un anak nyo sis ng ganito? if yes, ano pong side effects nya? talaga bang nagimprove un attention nila sa school?

How do I encourage my yaya to be proactive about this?  She still doesn't see that letting my kid watch youtube or just letting her do her own thing would lead to further delay.  I know it's my job but I am busy at work right now.  Once I fix this I will try to be more present she's having delays na kc.

^ encourage real time play, remove from the house/minimize gadget tim . Provide more toys, "lock" the cable channels .. Tried this with students and effective naman
