^ Yes, it would be a good idea to have his teacher fill up the ADHD evaulation form. Some dev peds use that tool also in assessing risk for ADHD.

Yes.    I am an informed parent doing research on my own and wish to share these information to all mothers or would-be parents the dangers of vaccine.   Most mothers do not know about this or if they are aware they simply wouldn't believe because everybody is doing it anyway by just following the herd.   Simply type vaccines and autism/poison/danger on any search engine and you'll find out about it.  Don't ask the pediatrician since vaccines are their bread and butter so they would not endanger their livelihood by confirming this if they are even aware.   I posted one article (vaccination thread) on how to counter those doctors that give you guilt feeling when you are having doubts with vaccine but someone erased it intentionally because it must have threatened their host or livelihood or belief.

There is another way of confirming yourself the truth of this matter by asking your pediatrician w/o letting them know your real reason for it by asking the package insert of the vaccines.   Package insert are those folded pieces of paper with a description of the drug and instruction manuals usually found if you bought a box 100pc of tablets/capsule or bottled medicine.   You'll find it written those possible side effects like autism etc contrary to doctors claiming otherwise.

^In some countries, vaccinations are mandatory, and children without them will not be accepted in school, I suppose not to fatten the pockets of the drug companies or the doctors, but to protect other kids. How do you then propose going by this? Home schooling your kids? Equally, do you have responsibility to other parents (and kids) to declare that you have not vaccinated your child?

We are out of topic since this is the ADHD thread but...
Nobody ever said that vaccination offers 100% protection. Vaccinated children still have the risk of getting the disease but in a milder form and they are less likely to have complications compared to unvaccinated children. This is based on countless of post surveillance studies. So yes, the unvaccinated child is still a threat to vacccinated children and to those children whose vaccination doses are still not complete. The unvaccinated population increases the chances of resurgence of diseases such as pertussis and measles. This is what happened to the US, UK and Japan.
The vaccination - autism link was started by a fabricated study. Andrew Wakefield was found to have been guilty of fabricating data to support the autism - vaccination link, mainly to serve his own purpose. Aside from the fact that he was being paid to do so, he was also in the process of releasing his own mono- Measles vaccine. Countless vaccine courts in the US and in the UK have shown that the link does not exist and yet, the anti-vaccine movement still holds on to this main study. If pediatricians offer vaccines for their own livelihood, then how come the anti-vaccine movement can turn a blind eye on Andrew Wakefield's own selfish agenda? As one scientist said before, the autism - vaccination link all began with bad science...
Health practitioners offer vaccines to prevent disease, not to spread disease. There are now anti-allergy vaccines, tumor vaccines (and I don't mean the HPV but vaccines that counter the tumor in itself), etc. That is the thrust of modern medicine. The anti-vaccine movement is contributing to an increase in the spread of diseases. They even go to the extent of scare tactics, claiming that one disease is autism when it is clearly not. So now, who is on the right track?
I've said many times before, all forms of herbal and synthetic medications carry the risk of side effects. There is no such thing as a totally safe medication. Even honey which carries medicinal properties can cause botulism poisoning if given to a child less than 1 year of age. All vaccines have side effects, but not every one will manifest with side effects. It would depend on how the immune system reacts to the vaccine.
Also, as far as I know, only the one posting can remove her own post. Other members cannot remove another member's post. Maybe you should ask the moderators why your posts were removed or if they have indeed been removed since your posts are still in the vaccination thread before accusing anyone of removing your posts....

I ask our pedia questions before she administers the vaccine. I have always asked for the box (indicating lot number), including the insert, and our pedia always willingly gives these to me (I attach these to my child's medical book), no need to be sly about it. I have never come across information saying a shot causes autism or ADHD. Would you kindly show us this insert containing the vaccine-autism-ADHD link?

I know not everyone vaccinate their children, but I choose to, because I live in a 3rd world country. Health care is not available to everyone, the population is so dense, we enjoy traveling, and we are a country of OFWs so people could bring home diseases from all over the world. We don't live in a vast farm where we plan to stay/hide forever, and I don't intend to homeschool my child.

Fraudulent Study to Distract from Vaccine Association with Autism Backfires

Fraudulent Study to Distracts from Vaccine-Autism Link

The study was conducted at UC Davis and the findings were published in a late 2011 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences as “Brain enlargement is associated with regression in preschool-age boys with autism spectrum disorders.” Making sure this study’s vague conclusions got some public attention to help muddy the waters of vaccinations and autism, a summary of the journal’s report was published in the health sections of several mainstream outlets.

The stated report theme was that this study added to the growing evidence that autism has “roots in different biological underpinnings” and “other subtypes of autism will be more closely associated with immunological differences or genetic alterations.”

The recent study divided autism into regressive and non-regressive. Non-regressive autism is early onset autism. Not much has been developed with language and motor skills, so there is not as much “regression” as with one who has started speaking and walking.

The research comprised of 180 children from two to four years of age, mostly around three years old. Almost one-third had suffered non-regressive (early onset) autism, slightly over one-third regressive autism, and one-third of the subjects who were not autistic comprised the control group.

Magnetic resolution imaging (MRI) scans were performed on their brains to measure brain sizes, which were compared to available pediatric well visits head measurements at 18 months. The omission of vaccination records proves they were biased to begin with. Study conductors bothered to get pediatric head measurements for the 18 month well visits, and didn’t bother with vaccination histories? Very obviously suspicious, eh?

So here are their results. Most in the regressive (later onset) autistic group had larger brains than the non-regressive (early onset) group, and the non-regressive group had slightly larger brains than the non-autistic kids. But there were a few non-autistic kids with larger brains too! All the larger brained autistic children were boys; none were girls. These facts should be flies in the ointment for such a small study. The number of autistic kids was only 114.

Muddying the Waters for the Vaccination Factor with Autism

This research group got a substantial grant for research, radiated almost 180 children’s brains, and implied that vaccines are not a causal factor for autism while not even taking vaccinations into account for each child statistically.

One line in the study’s paper commented that since regression often begins at four months of age it “calls into question the association of pediatric vaccinations … in particular the … MMR.”

Heidi Stevenson, in her late November 2011 “Gaia Health Blog,” debunks that statement as an effort to misdirect attention from the fact that several other vaccinations are given from two months of age or earlier. She refers to the CDC recommended child vaccine schedule to show vaccinations start as early (or earlier) than two months of age.

Heidi points out that what is being observed is brain swelling from inflammation, or encephalitis, and its growth corresponds with the CDC schedule for pediatric vaccinations. Heidi’s bottom line: “If this study is valid, it documents a pattern of encephalitis that suspiciously parallels the implementation of the vaccine schedule in young children.”

Many experts, including author and neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock, have indicated that vaccinations routinely cause brain inflammation. Infants have undeveloped immune systems lacking sufficient blood brain barrier protection.

This study was conducted without consulting the subject children’s vaccine histories, thus avoiding the vaccination issue while proclaiming vaccines are not associated with autism. Just other “biological underpinnings.”

Funding for tracking down genetic possibilities linking to autism have already begun. This is all probably a vaccine industry funded (by front groups) to “scientifically prove” one or two generations of offspring resulted in a sudden genetic mutation, resulting in a a flash flood of autism among newborns, most of whom had been vaccinated.

Just as “history” is written by the victors, “science” is controlled by financially vested interests. Unfortunately, authoritative bad science is easy to sell to the media and the unaware public.

^Sis are the information and links you posted from valid medical, scientific research journals?

You should be thankful that you live in a place where the possibility of encephalitis, diptheria, pertussis, measles, chickenpox, smallpox, rubella, mumps at kung ano ano pa is virtually non-existent. Ang galing naman ng place na yan, na-eradicate nila ang mga sakit na yan totally so that you don't need to vaccinate kids to protect them from the illnesses. San ba yang lugar na yan para makalipat kami? Or pa-share naman pano nila na eradicate yung mga sakit without the use of vaccines?

Why are you so against vaccines? Personally hindi ka ba vaccinated nung bata ka? Or were you vaccinated and you are now experiencing some form of adverse effect due to the vaccine?

Please, please let us know.

So how do we deal with the illnesses nga? Like tuberculosis, measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, hpv, at kung ano ano pang sakit? Or do we leave it to chance na hindi sila magkakasakit?

Personally hindi ka ba (or any family members) vaccinated? Or vaccinated ka and you are now experiencing the side effects of vaccination, like autism, ADHD/ADD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, depression and schizophrenia?

Ah you see the road to good health comes down to what you may have already heard but was shot down by the medical profession.

to name some:

1.)  Vitamins & minerals

2.)  herbs and spices

3.)  avoiding certain foods and condiments even certain ingredients such as: all softdrinks, energy drinks, artificial fruit juices, processed foods, junk foods, fast foods, high fructose corn syrup etc

4.)  eat fresh fruits and vegetables

If you want to know more then go to this website which is better equipped to teach you if you're interested:

www.naturalnews.com

from there you will be led to many likeminded research, articles and websites for you to make up your mind.

--------------------

During my time there were so few recommended (not mandatory) vaccination so im glad I did contract any debilitating symptoms when my mother had me injected.   As to my child,  I had it stop after 9 months worth that poison and im glad too that there were no visible damage just as my accidental research had informed me for its possible effects.

Any one injection can permanently destroy the life of your child or yourself because im referring to all vaccinations not just strictly for infants/kids.   My friends kids are not fortunate,  her second child had sizesures from time to time and they had no history of epilepsy.   When they asked their pediatricians, it was dismissed as genetic because the doctors inquiry of finding out the possible causes were negative such as playing video games, medical history, the milk, chemicals like insecticides and other aerosols- anything and everything was discussed except the vaccine.     Autistic kids have symptoms of sizesures and so does mercury poisoning.

Im not the best person to discuss research which is why i post many links for the real experts to do their thing- explain to you in a very down to earth manner what this is all about.   But as you can see in the vaccination thread, no matter how many i post links or articles most people will just ignore it which is their freewill choice BUT should anything happen to their kids or they find out the truth, none of them should ever claim ignorance.

hay its confirmed, my 9 year old son has ADHD. :'(we went to see dr. joel lazaro last monday. prior to our consultation i talked to his teacher and asked her to fill out the form i mentioned before. she actually apologized for always reprimanding my son or calling out his attention to finish schoolwork. most of her answers in the evaluation is in the often and very often column. I also list some of the signs I see starting when he's just a toddler up to now. looking at these, all he said is "hay naku bingong-bingo ka anak."(pertaining to my kid). he also asked me to give details on how it affects his school and if he have been to some fights. one of the things that really bother me is what he said on being a "school outcast" or being bullied because he's  being typrecast as "pasaway". kahit naman yata sinong ina ayaw mangyari sa anak yun.
so he prescribed him with meds. he's honest enough to say that it will not cure ADHD but more of a manitenance drug. yun nga lang of the 3 drugstore he gave us puro out of stock.
as for us, we'll need to set a more concrete study habit. i'll also look for some therapy din na pwede i apply sa home kasi ayoko naman maging dependent sya sa meds. as a mom gagawin natin lahat para sa anak natin. this is the best option i can give him now with God's help sana maging ok ang outcome.

My 7 y/o is unofficially diagnosed with ADHD and ODD last October by Dr.Mark Cruz (developmental behavioral pediatrics) of Capitol medical center.

He started therapy when he was 3.5 y/o, kasi he was enrolled in a catholic kindergarten school run by nuns. They can't handle his behavior and tantrums, and as recommendation na rin Ng isang madre who has background in SPED, we pulled him out by July of that year sa school, and had him assessed by an ABA therapist.

For three years ang akala namin he is just hyper active so we bought him a trampoline, and all kinds of things and toys na pwede Nya magamit para mailabas ang energy Nya. But when he started school this year, his therapist and the school principal observed that he has signs of ODD.

Kahit ayaw namin ni hubby, na pilit nila kami to bring our son to Dr. mark. No regrets Naman, as we were enlightened din Kung ano ang odd and ADHD. As of now, everyday may behavior report ang teachers sa Amin. Kung Hindi napapa away ang bata sa classmates niya, meron namang reports na naglilikot sya sa classroom. It's so stressful that I got to the point na umiiyak na ako every time I look at my son, kasi I don't know what's wrong with him or with me. I feel that I might be doing something wrong.

Tomorrow night, he will sleep in the staff house Ng school nila. Meaning, our son will be with his teachers for at least two nights and three days. Para din kasi maintindihan nila and ma observe how he is at home, anong difference Ng behavior Nya when he is not in school. We trust his teachers Naman. I believe that they care for him so much and willing to help him as much as they can. Sila na rin kasi nag suggest Ng ganung set up for tomorrow ....

I hope everything goes well....

My son is super hyper. You couldn't keep him still. He was a delayed talker so we brought him to a developmental pedia, si Dr. Anna Treichler. We found out that he was in the spectrum of autism but since he was just 1 1/2 months, di pa naman sure. We started ABA therapy agad and iniba namin routine nya sa bahay.

He is now 2 1/2 years old and hyper pa rin pero you can make him sit still na. In a way, less na yung pagiging hyper na. Nasa age pa din naman daw kasi he is only 2 years old so medyo malikot daw talaga. We don't give him any drugs, therapy lang. He is doing ABA Therapy...2 days center based and isang araw naman home based then 2 days a week may OT din sya. So far so good.

I've seen kids na may ADHD and it cannot be treated. By proper therapy, he will be okay. Tyagaan lang kasi medyo mahal therapy. every two weeks, I usually pay 6k for his ABA and 3k for his OT. If you can see changes naman sa behaviour ng son mo, it will be worth it.

I also don't give him soda and candies. Sugar free lang usually candy nya and organic.

@sis towberry, good thing naagapan nyo ang therapy ng son mo. one of the things doc lazaro said is that mejo late na yun diagnosis ng anak ko so the therapy may not be the only option we have. one factor din kasi is the nearest therapy center is abt. 2 hrs from our place. i guess i would have to start in home pa rin kasi don naman nabubuild un character nila. un meds naman nya kasi is for 7 years old and up pa so no need pa talaga sa baby mo. hopefully our babies will be ok. we may choose different ways to help our babies but in the end we only want what's best for them.
@ sis darna, doc lazaro mentioned a special school in binan. around 100k daw yun tuition. sabi pa nga nya even those around laguna di pa rin enrol don kasi nga mahal :'(. for me naman even siguro if i can afford it ayoko muna mag introduce ng major change on his environment. as much as i can gusto ko sya ma-expose sa normal environmental setting. kasi pag tanda nya di nman pwede special ang treatment sa kanya just because he have ADHD.
for moms na lang siguro who are on the same predicament, the best thing you can do is to be informed. malaking tulong si mr. google. pati mga daily behavioral report card used in therapy you can download it. at least you can do your part in helping your kids even at home. :)

@darna88 - kaka start lang nya ng toddler school dito sa may amin. saling cat lang muna. medyo observe observe muna kasi malikot nga. ang purpose naman namin kaya we enrolled him kasi he needs to socialize sa mga kids his own age. kailangan kasi yun eh. his dev pedia told me na once he started schooling na mas prefer nya ang progressive school kasi unlike traditional schools, hindi 8 hours naka upo ang bata sa chair. yun kasi ang problem pag ang bata ay under the spectrum, you couldn't keep him still. pansin ko din sa baby ko yun.

@toinks - where do you live ba? I know PCDP has a branch in Balibago, Laguna na yata to.

My son was diagnosed Dyslexia with ADHD 2012. Sa una medyo mahirap kasi napaka mahal ng gamot, therapies at check-up, dito ka mamumulubi. Malaki ang improvement nya ng mag-take sya ng meds nya for a year.

^ The closest center with developmental pediatricians would be Medical City. You can call their dev ped center for scheduling of evaluation.
You can also check the thread on Developmental Pedias:
