Are your guests the type na hindi ka mahihirapan pagsuotin ng formal?  If yes sis, go formal. Specify in your invites that they might need to bring shawls especially if the weather's unpredictable.

eto talaga yung isa sa pet peeves ko when it comes to weddings. i get easily annoyed when i see someone na hindi sumusunod sa dress code, and sadly, yung mga plus one pa ang usually nagkakamali. either hindi nasabihan or doesn't care at all. i dont know pero its really sad kasi kung sino pa yung hindi mo naman talaga family/friend siya pa yung nakakasira sa theme.

i attended a black wedding once, yung plus one ng isang guest naka-gold! imagine, all the guests were wearing black then siya standout na gold.

another time naman all white yung theme because the bride wanted a white wedding. si plus one nanaman was wearing hot pink! hindi pa cocktail dress ha, yung party dress talaga na tight and very pink. i was a bridesmaid then and super close kami ni bride kaya when my fellow entourage and i saw her gusto naming paalisin. pero syempre hinde naman ginawa  ;D

i personally want strictly formal attire for our wedding pero still not sure up to now how i can control the dress code. pag iniisip ko pa lang na may hindi susunod frustrate na ko agad kaya im also considering na wag na lang.

Sis bzbee I was about to write the exact same thing. sobrang hate ko yan grrr. Dapat iremind din yung mga magdadala ng plus ones na mag bihis ng naaayon sa dress code.

I feel bad when a guest comes in white. Call me traditional but unless the bride asked her guests specifically to wear white, I still think it's a no-no.

sa invitation namin, we indicated "formal attire" sa dress code.  i'm sure our relatives and friends would be happy to see this, kase they are the type who dress up talaga especially pag events.. :)

but in general, i agree with sis vhanya, better put formal talaga kase some tend to underdress..

I put formal attire is required sa invitation pero sa dress guidelines sa website medyo underdress yung sample ko. knowing my relatives and friends na hindi naman talaga sanay ng naka-suit/barong at long gown type na mga event. So even mag-formal talaga sila is acceptable pa rin naman.

In my experience, there is always at least one person who would not follow the dress code for whatever reason. Normally, couple's wouldn't impose a hard-to-find attire for the guests so it's really annoying when some don't follow.

Unless the venue is in the beach or the event is a relaxed one, the dress code should be formal. The wedding looks beautiful and organized pag ganon.

Pinaka-ayaw ko yung semi-formal nagiging children's party na lang yung wedding haaaaay.

What we did was put it in the invitation, put it in the FB invite, tell people personally, and request them to tell everybody else.
Ending? Mga plus ones did not follow >:(

Sobrang eyesore :( Especially those who wear jeans and short sleeve polos! I'm not sure if you can actually "impose" the dress code in a subtle manner (i.e. the style of your invitations) but I guess it really can't be avoided. Basta pet peeve ko talaga: guests who wear white dresses or jeans to a wedding! Argh.

if the reception is garden and mahangin yun lugar like Tagaytay, always put sa attire ng invites, Maxi Dress for ladies and Coat for men.

pag indoors like Hotels, pwede na Formal attire or write Cocktail dress for Ladies and Formal for men.

A year to go pa before my wedding and medyo nasstress na ko sa mga guests na hindi susunod sa dress code. I am planning to allot half a space sa invitation para sa dress code together with the rsvp. Naku isa pa yang rsvp na yan!!!

^Yeah. I feel you. We placed in our wedsite not to wear black or white. After hearing another friend saying bawal black, my friend said I'll wear white na lang. :o Labo talaga. I'll put it on our FB e-vite na lang din.

^yeah sis we better be specific sa invitations. I dont't want any of my guests to wear white (even if my wedding gown is champagne-colored) or black. I will specify clearly sa invitations yung dress code. Ang hindi sumunod, di makakapasok hehe chos!
