We went to VFS Global France early today. Our application was not accepted because they have a new rule: when your entry/exit point is UK, you need to apply for a UK visa first (I cannot find this rule anywhere in the VFS Global website). We can apply for a UK visa next week pa (3 months before our entry to UK). Is this rule unique to France? Any idea if this rule exists for other embassies? I've compared checklists with Italy and Germany parang wala namang ganitong rule.

^Sis,  Baka yung flight nyo kasi na pinakita is arrival in UK.   Kasi if denied ka sa UK visa, there's no point of granting Schengen as well.  So you need to ensure na approved ang UK visa mo, then the rest of of the visas will follow.  Baka ganun ang concept.

When we had that trip years ago, UK visa una naming kinuha before Shengen. I remembered, when we submitted docs sa French Embassy, hinanap nga nila yung UK visa.

Sa VFS Norway hindi naman ako sinabihan ng ganyan. Nakalagay sa itinerary ko na ang entry at exit ko sa Europe is UK. Even the flight booking I submitted is MLA-LHR-MNL. I submitted my own "cover letter" explaining my intention of going to Schengen countries and why my flight booking reservation doesn't include my outward & return from Schengen areas.  Also, on the itinerary  I included the flight I plan to take (airline and flight schedule).

I'm still waiting for my passport from VFS UK though. 8 days na wala pa din.

Went to VFS France yesterday, hoping I'll be able to be granted a visa.  They check your plane and accommodation thoroughly, they check it side by side with my flight bookings as I will be travelling to other Schengen States as well.  I overheard though in the other counter that you can state the reason for not having the tickets to your transfers in your cover letter as they applied without those.  In my case, I booked it all because it was in the requirement.  I just hope I'll be granted a visa so my tickets will not be wasted

At last, nakapag-apply na rin visa sa VFS Norway last Tues, 8AM pa sked namin pero pinapasok na kami nung pumila kami ng 7:30AM. 8:15AM tapos na kami.

And today, nakareceived na ko email na approve na daw, pick-up na lang namin passport tomorrow.  Yehey! Sobrang kaba ko at sayang gastos pag denied. Buti mabilis lang, 2 days lang may result na.

Currently applying in Italian Embassy.. We submitted na our docs but we didn't know kailangan pala original NSO copies of marriage and birth certificates (wala naman nakalagay sa VIA.ph?), so we have to go back soon.. Medyo pressed for time kasi sa March 22 na alis namin, sa Feb28 pa kami makakabalik sa embassy coz we're still waiting for NSO to deliver our certificates.

I've backread and learned about the horror stories in the Italian embassy, but we have no choice coz that's where we're staying the longest. So hoping and praying!!! Mas kinakabahan ako actually for husband kasi wala pa sya Schengen visa before. Meron na ako before Schengen and UK visa (among others like South Africa, China, Korea, etc). Si husband US visa pa lang and Azerbaijan (southeastern Europe). Okay lang naman siguro yun noh?..

^ May travel history naman kayo so sure na yan. Buti pala sa VFS Norway, photocopy lang kinuha though meron naman ko NSO na dala just in case.

hi mga sis...ask lang din po...what if walang travel history or kung meron, once lang...hindi po kaya siya medyo questionable ng embassy pag ganun? planning to visit italy po sana...thanks

We submitted our applications to VFS France last Thursday and got our passports back yesterday. Approved naman lahat. Hoorah!  Extra hoorah for me because I was granted ME  (90 days) valid until March 2018  (My passport expires 2021). One year lang at wala naman akong balak mag-Europe ulit (as of now) but ..ego-booster lang ba.  . This is my fourth Schengen visa so I guess that helped. It is a nice feeling after being denied the first time (Italian embassy) na nagrant ako ng ME.

May nakadikit lang na paper dun sa passport ng parents ko saying:
"Other than a passport, foreign nationals must be able to present: 1. Proof of lodging, 2. Proof of financial resources and 3. guarantee of return." - shortened version. I guess reminder lang from the French embassy? Hindi naman kami pinagrereport back after the trip.

Visa application:
We entered  9:30 am and left 12:00nn sa VFS. Ganun katagal. I lost my cool at some point kasi 10:30 tapos na i-evaluate yung documents namin pero 11:30, ila-lodge pa lang yung application for receipt. Ewan ko baka malas kami nung araw na yun dahil madaming tao.

Documents:
We did not submit any train tickets. We just indicated in the letter that we will be purchasing them once our Schengen visas are granted. Sabi ng VFS, the embassy will just call us daw in case hingin pa.

Booked the train tickets na. Time to finalize. At least the stressful part is over. Yahoo!

Haaay nasa processing status pa rin daw visa namin ni husband according to VIA. So agitated. Our flight is in 6 days! is there anything we can do?

Is it easy to schedule an appointment online? O para ba yang Philippine passport renewal na ubos-ubos ang mga appointment dates?

^my experience with both the French and German embassies directly before and with VFS recently no naman. Just try to book as early as you can to get your preferred schedule.

Got our passports with visa yesterday from the Italian embassy! Yay! 4 days before our flight, whew!
