Any OVERSEAS BRIDES here who got married in San Agustin Church or sa San Sebastian Church in Manila?  Paki-share naman your experiences sa pag process ng requirements sa church? Like how many times umuwi to attend seminars?   Tips and suggestions for me pls. Thank you all!

Hi sis. Im getting married pa lang in San Sebastian and so far very smooth naman ang experience ko with them. Yung parish secretary may viber number kaya natetext ko sya if may questions ako and mabilis naman magreply. Yung canonical interview nila kahit a week or 2 weeks before the wedding pwede ipashcedule. Yung pre-cana nila every 3rd Friday lang pero tatanggapin nila yung pre-cana certificates from other churches basta verify mo lang sa kanila kung pwede. Like sa case namin ni h2b, ang uwi namin ay 3 weeks before the wedding so hindi na namin maaabutan yung pre-cana seminar sa Baste so sa San Agustin kami magpre-cana and pumayag naman ang Baste.

oh wow.. I just saw this thread, and its really helpful. I have a question, me and my hubby to be are going to get married civilly this June or July.  My question is kasi ang sinasabi nila eh marriage banns from your respective parishes, do they pertain dun na sa parish kung saan kami nakatira na?  Or dun sa dati naming tinitirahan sa Manila? Pasensya na kung medyo mababaw yung tanong ko.  Pero kung may makapag clarify, it will be truly appreciated.  Thanks

Hi sis bonzaigirl!  Sa respective Parishes in the Philippines.  Pero I would suggest clarify mo din to sa Parish Secretary kasi alam mo naman, minsan ang gulong kausap.  Parang hindi standard sa mga requirements.

Hi happy dee, I am London-based, I send money via CBN.  I am not sure if you have it in Austria, but I know that they also have other EU branches.   If there is none, you can send via Western Union, it's fast and reliable, but the fee is a little bit more expensive.  Hope this helps

Hi sissies! Girltalk newbie here, this thread is so helpful! May I ask if required talaga to to get clearance muna from the Chancery? What for? Eh diba all the requirements naman have to be submitted to the Church anyway....so why pa the extra step?

Hi sis soontobemrsmacho!  Ang alam ko clearance is required kung mixed marriage.  Sa totoo lang, ang gulo ng requirements... Parang hindi standard and regulated kahit na pare-parehong Catholic church.  Depende pa din sa Parish.  Like yung Certificate of Freedom to Marry, yung iba ni-require ng Church nila kasi they've been living overseas for more than 6 months... Kame naman, sabi nung Parish secretary (na masungit & sarcastic nung sinagot ako when I clarified this), since we're still Filipino citizens ni h2b kaya di daw required.

Thanks for the advice sis! ang gulo pala! ako filipino citizen pero living abroad, si h2b naman US Citizen. We inquired Sa Chancery but until now no reply! We might end up getting all the the requirements nalang kahit hindi na needed....just to be on the safe side. hirap non!!!

Eh diba matagal pa before you can get the marriage certificate? Does this mean na I can't officially change my last name until all of it is done?

hi sissies  overseas bride din ako and my wedding will be on october this year... i got all my supplier here in female network  sinisilip ko lang kong sino yong mga good feedback here na pasok sa budget ko then other info na needs for the wedding

Hey sis soontobemrsmacho! Not sure about the timeline for getting a marriage certificate, but I won't update the last name in my passport and other government documents until I have the physical copy 

Here's another question for you girls: for those who will have/had their dresses made in PH, how long did your first appointments with the designer take? I'm hoping to meet 6-7 when I fly home for one weekend kasi but it depends how long they take (plus traffic pa  )

^in my case my wedding is feb. i had my gown design and measurement by june. sept. 1st fitting and next fitting january. actually i considered din talaga location since super traffic lagi kahit saan! kaya hindi na ko kumuha ng malayo talaga sa place ko

^i did my sukat Last april sis. First fitting will be july. Last fitting september or a week before wedding. Same like sis shygirlme, hindi na ako kumuha sa malayong lugar ng dress. Yung ipapamasahe mo and effort, idagdag mo na rin sa cost ng gown. Medyo mahal man siya, hindi ka na mag eefort sa malayo, pero mura, kasi, namasahe ka at napawisan.  just an opinion sis.

^ overseas bride din ako before...our wedding was feb 2015. from our timeline, 6 to 7 months is good, if hindi ka peak season (dec, jun).

we took the measurements via skype meeting, i think aug 2014. then i got the mock dress for fitting on nov 2014. i sent it back to ms Gretchen Pichay by dec 2014.

tapos umuwi ako jan 2015, to have my first fitting...gown na to with minimal beading. then uwi na ko next is 1st week ng feb 2015. after that, 2 more fittings. Then 3rd week pick up na ng gown

June wedding kasi ako next year (peak period sya yikes) but I'm targeting na measurements taken Dec (para when I'm home for the Christmas holidays), then fitting is around March (around Holy Week holidays, depending on whether the designer or her team are out) or May (Labour Day holidays). Then leave na ako 2 weeks before the wedding so yun na ang crunch time for the designer (to finish) and me (to fit haha)
