Hi sis happydee!  I'm a 2016 & Overseas b2b too   Docs like CENOMAR, Birth, Baptismal & Confirmation Certificates are valid for 6 months.  I've read somewhere that you can now request this online on the NSO website or a representative like a family and friend can request this for you.  Marriage license is valid for 120 days naman but since you'll be having your Civil wedding in July, your civil marriage certificate replaces CENOMAR & Marriage license.  Regarding seminars, our Church allowed us to have our seminar here but we have decided na umuwi na lang to have our seminar in the Philippines.  Isasabay na sa pagkuha ng Marriage license.  Have you decided which church you want?  You can probably check muna with your church if they would allow you to have seminars overseas.  Some church kasi are strict.  Some are lenient naman.  Although same Catholic church, sometimes di standard ang pag-process and requirements nila.

But im afraid it wont apply to us, because we were born in Austria. About the seminar, our wedding date is Jan. 16, arrival namin mga Jan. 5 or 6 pa baka too late na mag attend any seminars atsaka may canonical interview pa diba? Im in contact with the church in San Juan, Batangas (we want to marry at the Virgin Beach Resort Chapel). What i also noticed is, that b2bs in the PH plan at least 1.5-2 years ahead?! sa Austria parang 6mon - 1 year ok na yun haha i havent even booked a location and church yet -_- *the pressure is on*

^yes sis..6 months to 2 years.. in our case, preparation period is 9 months..since we don't have much paperwork to do.

You're welcome sis happydee!  If you're not a Filipino citizen, you will need a Certificate of Freedom to marry.  I have no idea where & how to get this.  That's the reason why I decided to stay as PR in the interim and apply for citizenship after my wedding because of those additional documents.  NSO is for the Birth Certificate and CENOMAR.  I've read on other threads that you need to register your Civil wedding with the Philippine Consulate/Embassy.  I'm not familiar though with this process.  I forgot to mention in my previous post, when you request for your Baptismal & Confirmation certificate from your church, be sure it would have the annotation, "for Marriage purpose". Regarding the canonical interview, the Parish Secretary advised that she can only book us for the interview once we have submitted the complete docs.  So most likely we'll have it a week before our wedding.  I've also heard of special seminars for a day or two to cater for overseas couples who have limited time in the Philippines.  It's frustrating that some Parishes sound like they're not much willing to help.  It's either they don't reply or they're a bit cranky when you make inquiries.  I experienced this myself with the Parish Secretary.  Haha!  Although if you're lucky, you'll get nice ones too.  If you've got relatives in Batangas, probably you can ask them to call the Parish office and get them to send you the list of requirements.  Some church give consideration to overseas couples.  Some of my friends had their seminar & interview a few days before their wedding.

Hello everyone!

I'm about to become an overseas bride this May. Wedding is on October this year. We haven't booked anything yet. Goal is to book the church and the venue before March and then the caterer before we leave this May. The next time we'll be going back is before the wedding. I'm not sure how many days prior to the wedding though.

Our wedding is an intimate (max 90 guests) weekday affair. I plan to just buy an RTW wedding gown at the country we're migrating to. Just 2 principal sponsors. Secondary sponsors will either be our sisters and brothers or close friends. No plans yet whether to have some dresses and suits made for them or just buy rtw ones.

That being said, I'd really appreciate some advice as to what suppliers we should meet and book already and what documents and requirements we should process before migrating this May. What suppliers (aside from the church, venue and caterer) should we set a meeting with first prior to booking them?

I finally got some infos about the requirements: Docs and wedding ban permit (translated) should be submitted at the parish 3months before, seminar pwede gawin dito kelangan lang ng certificate and the interview is on 13th January

have you tried searching for remittance centres there? Kase if bank to bank, mababa ang exchange rate and madaming fees. Pero if may available remittance center that will be better.  Tip sis: book your coordinator first (a trustworthy one) coz what I did is send her all the money then she'll be the one to pay my other suppliers instead if paying them one by one. That way you'd be able to save the remittance fees.

^Hi happydee, i do mine thru xoom ..most payments ko pinapadala ko sa coordinator namin para d masyadong magastos sa transfer fee. .BUT check mo rin sa banks compare mo yung rates and fees...para mas ok.

I'm not sure how much they charge in western union if sending money to phil. Last week kase I sent money in dubai the transfer fee is $100. 😢

oh no...so expensive! remittance centers would be the best option. western union charges based on a certain percentage of what you send so it's also really expensive.

^yes sis.. you're right. sa western union, it depends how much you're sending.. I sent $2k in dubai and $100 agad ang fee, whereas if thru LBC, that is only $8.. grabe diba the difference.
