Pwede sa grand food tasting request mo na mag detailing na kayo, pero for me, mas okay sa office nila though malayo (samin) hahaha.

Dun pipili ka ng set up, ng table clothes, mantle, yung food, anong mga flowers, if cake sila din designs, tapos ilang ang vip.
If familiar naman sila sa venue mo, sabihin mo agad kay planner mag ready na Seat plan, para makita mo na yung ayos, though pwde naman send sa email.

yup sis done na final food tasting and detailing nung apec week. busy ang hizons nung detailing namin kasi sila daw caterer sa opening day ng apec nung nov 18. pero okay naman yung planner namin. instead na afternoon sana meeting, naging umaga na. available naman kami kaya di naging problem yung last minute change ng meeting time.

feb kami sis. nakapag food tasting na kayo? you may try their apple braised pork belly, baked fillet of fish stuffed with spinach and bechamel sauce, slow roasted us beef with classic mushroom gravy and or smoked hickory barbeque sauce.. ano pa ba? hehe. marami pa sis. di ko lang maalala.

Just keep an eye on them chili. Me and hubby didn't like the food served during his cousin's wedding, especially with how they present the food. But that's us. Other sissies have good things to say about them too. Good luck!

Hi mga sis. Hizon's bride here. Just want to ask when's the suggested date for the initial meet up with the planner? I mean, how many months dapat ang planning? Booked them last August lang, pero ang wedding ko is on October 2016 pa. Havent met the planner. Any suggestions?

Hello!! I just found out a couple of months ago that my reception venue has changed their in-house caterer to Hizons. My reception does not allow any outside caterers, and the only have ONE in house caterer.

AFAIK, magkaiba ata ng packages ng Hizon's per events place. But we spoke to the AE and pwede naman daw kami mag mix and match

I suggest that maybe you can attend more than one food tasting event. I attended two Blue Gardens and Cities Events Place just recently and they offered different dishes for the two events so got to taste a variety of their food.

Appetizers we liked were Crisped Beef Ssam Spring Roll, Smoked Fish with Mango Tarragon Salsa and Bruschetta Al Fungi. We're also getting the Asian salad with crisps.

We're getting steamed rice and crispy beef rice. Rice wasn't tutong on both events.

Their pork and beef dishes were soft, and flavorful naman. Again, depending on your preference, one may be better than another. Their creamy chicken dishes were also pretty excellent. Read that the chicken sambal wasn't good but in our food tasting, super sarap naman siya.

Getting a carving station is worth it. Their meat is tender and not fatty, at least when we attended.
Veggies, as everyone else suggested go for the farm's harvest.

Got a dessert bar because depending on everyone's tastes, someone might like something over another. Depende talaga sa taste ng tao.

Fish dishes are also soft and flavourful.

Major complaint was their pasta was nothing special and their pasta was not al dente. We told the AE about this though.

hi sis Chili1113 i recently attended a friend's wedding na Hizon's ang caterer. It was ok naman for me. I liked the Asian salad with the Miso dressing.  The fish with spinach with bechamel was ok naman and the roast beef. Not super wow naman for me. Best to have a food tasting with them just to be sure. For the truffled mushroom soup it was mixed reactions from us. A friend liked it but me and h2b didn't. I felt the flour was not cooked enough when they did the rue for the soup. Overall h2b and I were not so happy with the food but I think they have good reviews naman. I do hope they will really perform as Polo Club's in house caterer and meet the high expectations from their clients.
Would you know if the other restaurants and function rooms in Polo club would also have Hizon's as caterer? Will be having despedida de soltera there.

Baka they have more upscale menu for Polo kaya mas mahal? Check for tenderloin, seabass, salmon, tiger prawns and make sure you taste them before finalizing.  Then again pwede nga rin na venue markup

Not sure what percentage they will have for the menu markup. And yes good deal naman yung consumable rate for Polo Club. I do hope the ingredients they will use though will be more upscale even if the menu items are similar. And their in house chefs should really double the effort to ensure quality of food at polo club is still ok.

Our wedding is on Feb. 2016. We had a hard time dealing with our planner, Marge. I requested to change our planner and Chesca informed me that Jackie will be our new planner. Just want to ask if may sis tayo na sya yung planner? Any feedback about her? TIA

Hello mga sis, my fiance and i attended a grand food tasting in gazebo and booked them for catering. Anyway, here's my feedback, actually i've tried their services before kasi sila ang caterer ng office namin where i used to work everytime may event and two of my officemates got them in their wedding and they were very satisfying naman but well, tama ang reviews regarding sa  grand foodtasting they don't perform well. As in hindi nila nameet ang ineexpect ko but in actual events na sila naman ang nag cater everyone loved the food so i told the ae about it and asked her bakit ganun.. Well, sabi nya inonote nya na regarding sa complain ko, i really like hizons but told her na sobrang hindi ko gusto ang grand food tasting nila, matigas ang beef and pork, malamig ang food na sinerve, and the gravy is walang lasa but like what i said iba in actual event na napuntahan ko they we're all excellent so maybe i think lang i will just keep an eye on this parts na mga complain ko regarding sa kanila. They requested pa nga for a special food tasting for me and fiance but sabi ko maybe next time na lang kasi as of the moment we're busy at work and preparing sa mga kulang pa na details sa wedding namin. I just hope na they should perform their best pa din in every occassions not just the special events but also in food tasting so that a lot of couples will book them as well.

Food/Caterer: Hizons Catering

Positive: They gave me 2 food tasting slots. Ang sarap ng food sabi ng mga guest, favorite daw nila yung fish and beef at bumalik pa daw sila.
Naubos yung food namin because we only get 150 pax, tapos dun na din kumain ang suppliers (except the photobooth team and coords). I love the set up, and they followed everything na napag usapan namin.

Negative: Magenta ang motif namin pero naging pink kasi limited lang yung colors nila. Fuchsia  pink naman so malapit lang, kasi wala daw silang magenta na flowers and table napkins. Lahat ng questions be sure na ready during your meetings para ma take note nyo lahat lahat, minsan kasi matagal mag reply ang planner nila kasi busy din naman sa ibang clients.

Done with my food tasting in my venue which is exclusively catered to by Hizons. OMG swe were so bothered by the food quality. I got their most upgraded package na at P2050 per head. 4 of us were in the food tasting, including my sister and best friend. All of us do not like the food. Some were OK at best. Nothing was totally horrible naman, but meron dishes na mas masarap pa yung luto sa bahay namin hehe

The desserts were just so blah and cheap. I had to pick 3 out of like 9 choices. We had such a hard time doing this.  Their tiramisu was so bitter. Chocolate cake looked nice but was so dry. The Blueberry Cheesecake tasted so cheap and spongy and full of flour. But I had no choice but to choose it for the lack of anything better-- kesa naman Buko Pandan hehe.

Take note: the name of the dishes vasry slightly as my venue boasts of having an exclusive menu, but to be honest if you look closely same lang as Hizons Menu. Like my venue calls this dish Garlic Grilled Chicken in Red Wine Sauce--- Hizon's packages call it Chicken in Red Wine Sauce. Then we also tried Fish Florentine-- Hizons offers the same dish but calls in Fish Fillet in Spinach and Cream. So it is the same dishes but just re-named to make it sound "exclusive."  Like they also have the thrice-cooked pork belly but that isn't in the menu I got.

We have 3 carving stations, but we werent able to try those. So I am hoping talaga mas matino yung Roast Beef, Cochinillo, and Bone-In Ham.... the Cochinillo and Bone-In Ham isn't catered by Hizons but done by my venue. OMG sana naman mas matino!!

BTW we weren't expecting much ha. We came in with realistic expectations.

On the bright side of things the sushi platter and tempura was good naman but I don't think that wasn't catered by Hizons too.

Chili1113 if the bone in ham was done by Polo Club, its really good. We had that during cocktails and the after party during my cousin's wedding and both times simot siya even if we were full during the actual dinner, we just wanted more of that ham. They served it with bread though as a sandwich but assembled it in on the spot with the carvery.

Also during my soltera at the last chukker, another winner for us was the corned beef brisket. Not sure if they will allow that for you but it can be an alternative to the roast beef if you're worried about it.

rightback: Thanks so so much for your feedback!! Yes The bone in ham is done by Polo and  not Hizons I think. Yayyyy I am glad to hear that it is good!! We were thinking of serving it during cocktails, but I think I will serve it at dinner instead so that I have something yummy there aside from the Hizon's hot dishes hehe. So its just the Roast Beef I have to wonder about. I think the Cochinillo is safe because no one really screws up Cochinillo naman hehe. Thanks!

Hi dears, ask ko lang reviews and opinions nyo about Hizons vs Juan Carlo. Sino ba sa kanila mas ok?
Yung offer kasi sa amin ni Hizons until Feb 9 na lang because nagtaas na sila ng price. Not sure kung marketing strategy yun.
But we haven't tried Juan Carlo yet kasi by Feb 20 pa food tasting schedule namin. Thanks in advance!

We booked Hizons for our 2017 wedding at P1050/pax. Napamahal because of their new leveling sa styling ng venue.

Mejo na off lang ako nung first food tasting namin sa renowed lane, walang tubig ang CR!

@arnijoy: not sure sa juan carlo as caterer pero ang mahal kasi nya compared sa hizons.
