Next Friday back to Dubai na ulit si boyfriend :(

I already feel sad kapag iniisip ko na almost less than a week na lang kami magkakasama. But we both have to be strong and he always reminds me na our current situation is just temporary. Ang hirap pero kailangan kayanin eh.

A huge thanks sa internet connection and social media apps. At least constant pa rin ang communication.

True love will make it work! Hi mga sis.. Seaman's wife here.. Mahirap lang talaga kase iba pa rin yun anjan sya.. Kasama mo sa gabi.. Hehe. Kaso love ko talaga e and i decided to marry him even though LDR kami. Malaki kase tiwala ko sa kanya and mahal ko talaga. We got married last year lang.. 😄 After 3 months sumakay na ulit sya ng barko. Sa august or September sya uuwi.. Ayun yung inspirasyon ko pagaantay hanggang dumating sya.. Counting days.. 😄❤️

This works for us. With prayers and trust to each other everything is working.. not too smooth and perfect but what is important is we really love each other. 11 years bf/gf :8 years LDR: 4 years married.

A serious query for those who contend that long distance relationships work... have you ever thought that perhaps the real reason why it actually works is because you're more apart than you are together?

^curious din ako because i think possible nga na tumatagal ang ibang LDR because less chances na mag-away or makita yung tunay na ugali ng isat-isa..

Just recently a female friend of mine asked me if it's really possible to fall in love with someone you haven't met. She's in a long distance relationship right now and i think they're  already on their 7th month. Maybe she's confused dahil nagtataka ang mga tao kapag kinkwento niya na never pa silang nagkita.

^^Right? I've wondered that as well. Not only have a long distance relationship, but have a purely online based one. I mean, perhaps that's just the way technology's taken us. Meaningful relationships can now be formed without ever having to ever meet. But what happens when you do?

@junetwentythree - this is in lieu regarding your question whether LDR works because the couple is apart.. in my experience, our LDR worked because we wanted it to, not because we are apart, but because we want to spend time together EVEN IF we are apart. I said worked, because we are already married and had decided to be together. Just a bit of background, we were in LDR for 5 years. Was it difficult? I wouldn't say that it was easy, definitely not easy, but we made it tolerable. For our first three years, it was all pure online and long distance calls (wala pang viber, and skype that time only YM and FB chat).  We sacrificed night outs with friends and weekends out with friends to make sure that we spend  time together. Then when skype/viber came, we would eat together and sleep together. Do various things together while online. Was it cheesy? I guess so.. we always though of it as our method of dating. When we had saved enough funds to visit each other, all the more na we cherished every moment spent together.  Shempre may awkwardness sa umpisa but all couples go through that. From then on, we missed each other more, but this just made us look forward to our next adventure/holiday/travel/ time together.   of course, there's always trust and faithfulness. 2 traits na only a few hundred Filipino men(and women) are capable of. Im lucky enough that both of us have those ( yeah.. the door swings both ways).

LDR does work, its not for everybody though. I have known a lot who made it work. I also know a lot who succumbed through temptations thus their LDR fell apart. Good luck to all of you, I've been in those shoes. Happy Easter.

ako naman ldr worked for us because we chose to make it work. i'd rather have him apart than not to have him at all... before kame nag-ldr, we have a strong foundation na sa relationship namen. kungbaga 6.5 years na kameng magkasama. madame na napagdaanan. di madali ang ldr. during our 1st few months sobra kameng nag-aaway. so mas marame kameng nadiscover sa isa't-isa. until unti unti kame natuto mag-adjust... for me ldr is an ultimate test for couples. test faith and loyalty talaga... madameng sacrifices on both parts just to make it work... tsaka through ldr kame mas nagkaroon ng more meaningful conversations... kase wala naman kameng ibang magagawa kundi magusap. so ldr has brought us closer than apart... i know medyo ironic. pero in our case ganun yung naramdaman ko samen...

not on our case. :-) we've worked a lot together while apart, and works on far more better and further things when we are together. sounds like a fantasy, but my wife and I are in the same page on how to make things better for us and our future. I guess, if both have the same goals, then both can focus on the same.

^is it possible to fall in love with someone you haven't met? well, for me yes. when my husband and I first met on line (thru common friends) click agad kami eh then after 4 days naging kami na and the rest is history. Advantage sa part ni husband kasi shy type sya in person and never had a GF. LDR kami for almost 2 years then we got married when he came back.

Very possible and very real to fall in love with someone even before meeting that person.

It's either isama niya ako o maghiwalay kami.

To those who responded to my query, I'd have to agree with young_maiden, hats off to you guys! I've not been in an LDR nor would I ever wish to be in one. I'm just not sure how it'd ever work. But to those who do make it work, somehow, some way, good for you guys!  ;D

It is. Mahigit 1 year na kami LDR. Viber and Skype. Una iyak iyak. Now were used to it. Next month will be my vacation. Excited nako.
He go out with friend para malibang, ako din. But dating someone is a No No. Ibang usapan na yun. haha
Good foundation, Trust and Communication is the key.

yeah you'll get used to things :-) but it would be nice if one of you may come visit the other, or meet half way from time to time. :-)

it does work.. :) more than 5 years in a long distance relationship and we're getting married next yr. :) dati akala ko din it wouldn't work.. it's really a matter of making it work. of course, trust is really important in both parties.

The environment of the guy kasi matters a lot. If the guy is not in pinas, feeling ko mas  mababa temptation. But still nasa personality ng guy.

I used to believe na magwowork yung ganitong klaseng relasyon but it didn't on my case. Although I trust my ex bf at that time pero may ibang issue kami. Priority nya yung career nya kesa sa relasyon namin which is difficult to accept at first but eventually I realized na hindi talaga kami pwede in the end. I've been single for 2 years coz hinintay ko sya na bumalik pero waley talaga. Ayoko na ng ganito.

^ lahat naman na May bf/gf/hubby/wife na LDR will say that LDR works kasi it works naman talaga, at least at that time they're posting, or at some point when the relationship is working.

However, things change, people change, environments change. Then like you, Pag nag break na, that will be the only time people would comment that it doesn't or cannot work.
