^ So sorry to hear that, sis Pink_Sugar.  :(

------

Long Distance Relationships, just like any regular relationships, can work, but it can also be otherwise.
Bottom line, there is no clear cut rule or formula to ensure that the LDR works.
It's a matter of dynamics and personalities coming into play.
LDR is not for everyone, so for some it works and for some, it simply doesn't.
Truth be told, any relationship requires effort, time and lots of work, same thing goes for LDR.
So, for those who do decide to get into the LDR set-up, there will surely be an adjustment period then it stabilizes then changes occur then adjust again, so it's a big leap. Anything can happen really.
And oh as for me, we used to be LDR for a time, then we were together daily then now back to LDR and so far, we're still together... This is not to say that LDR works, all I am saying is, we have made a decision to be together and we're working around what we have, so it has been working so far. To what end? Who knows right? What's important to me is today. Then, tomorrow is another "today", and the cycle goes on.. until we're LDR no more!

Girls help, please... Long before, I thought he was the one, we were both happy then, no big issues, or small issues turned big. Now, we're on a long distance relationship since March 26. On the first 4 months, we managed to see each other once a month. I am in Singapore and he's still in Manila that time. Palitan lang kami, nung May, ako umuwi ng Pinas, June sya pumunta dito sa SG, then July, ako umuwi ulit sa Pinas.

Then July 19, he flew to US. Dun na nagstart lumabo, timezone difference and him being not expressive. Mejo nasusurvive pa nung una, then September came, parang di na ko happy. Last week, nagskype kami, he's playing DoTA at the same time, and masungit pa kausap kasi hindi daw okay yung connection ko. I told him I was offended few days after that incident, then I also asked him politely if we can talk via Viber call kahit once a week, aside from skype sa weekend. He agreed, said sorry, and hindi na daw mauulit.

Pero, ewan ko, these days, I feel unhappy na. Hindi na sya malambing, tipid magmessage, though everyday, nagmemessage naman sya sa FB. Tapos yung girl, na pinagseselosan ko dati, nigreet nya sa FB ng "Happy Birthday", and he never greeted me on FB. Kaya ngayon, I'm thinking it twice.

Hintayin ko nalang muna siguro matapos yung NY FL trip namin on Nov 2014, then, let's see kung okay pa ba talaga kami. Sorry mahaba. Hoping for your advice sissies.

officially in an LDR for a weeks now. He's a 4 hour intl plane ride away and we've been seeing each other one weekend every month, but it's really hard to do normal couple things because of the time constraints.

past LDRs haven't worked for us,  so we both know we don't want to be in this situation for a long time.  We're now at a stand still deciding who moves where -- and that's another dilemma altogether. Hoping everything works out :(

For me, yes it will work if you 2 will work together.

We became friends through a common friend, 1yr yun, we stayed friends hanngang di sya makabalik sya ng philippines,
We are now in our 3rd yr of our bf/gf relationship.

^ Sobrang relate ako dito sis..Ganyan din bf ko..tipid magmessage, sobrang bihira lang kame mag skype busy daw kase sya sa work. We fought about this and even broke up many times din. Pero he keeps coming back. I don't know maybe sadyang ganun talaga sya, there are times din na habang mag ka skype kame he's playing online game or makikipag usap sa mga friends nya, room mates nya actually. I feel offended pag ganun kase minsan na nga sya mag spend ng time tapos ganun pa gagawin nya. Pero yun lang naman talaga problema namin, yung quality time for each other. Its very important kase lalo na sa ganitong LDR. Pag nag hihiwalay kame because of the same issue, mag sosorry then magbabago ng konti then balik sa dati pero I'm sure naman na walang ibang birl na involved kase kasama nya sa work yung dalawang cousins ko and mismo sila ang nagsasabi na workaholic lang yung bf ko and I really need to understand. There are times na unhappy na din ako because I feel neglected most of the time but because of the love I have for him kaya siguro balik din ako ng balik sa kanya. lol!

This would only work if the time apart has its end. Dapat may goal kayong time to be together permanently.

^^ I realized that for men, minsan hirap sila makipagchat ng matagal. At least for my SO at sa ex ko, mas prefer nila personal mag share ng thoughts nila, feelings. Parang for them, hindi masyado meaningful if it is over the phone or through text.

Talaga bang ganun most men? Or nagkataon lang with my ex and SO? Parang bihira sa guys ang ok lang magchat/connect through gadgets.

In LDR for 3 years bf/gf and 1 year husband/wife, but hopefully by the end of this year magkasama na kami.

I'm into failed LDR din before but what works for me now is that nung nagsisimula pa lang kami we set na yung mind namin na to make it work and to keep our communication open he should be the one who contacts me first either chat, sms or call. on my part naman kahit gaano pa kaliit/kalaki na bagay yun I should reply as soon as possible. Sometimes ako nauuna but sobrang dalang lang, kahit gustong-gusto ko minsan magmessage sa kanya ng una i try not para masanay sya to reach out for me kung talagang gusto nya to make it work. and we're doing great naman pero kailangan pa rin talaga ng final goal until when kayo LDR.

All I can say is,

Love can overcome distance.

In a long distance relationship myself. A happy one at that. As long as you know the person is worth waiting for to be with again and that you are one in mind and spirit, the ocean apart is really nothing.

Based from my current soon-to-be-past relationship, mukhang fail ang LDR samin. :( but still, di pa ako nawawalan ng pagasa sa LDR thingy.

Same with my bf. Not that he loathes texting or chatting pero he'd rather call talaga. Which i appreciate kase tamad din ako magtext lol.

Yung mga guys na mahilig sa chat/texts eh usually yung mga bata pa na nakikiharot lang hahaha. Pero as a person (man or woman) grows older parang sayang kase sa oras yung pagcompose ng message. Tawagan mo na lang diba.

It worked for us but there'll definitely be huge obstacles that'll test your relationship.  It helps kung gumagawa kayo ng way para hindi na kayo maging LDR or there's some kind of hope for you to close the distance.

Same here!

You gotta meet each other halfway, and make both ends meet, even if it means halfway around the world ;)

Pansin ko lang, pag mayaman pareho ang mas nagiging madali ng LDR. Kasi pwede nila puntahan lagi isa't-isa lagi. :(

1.5 months na since nakaalis si bf. seaman kasi siya. so far ok pa naman.

Sis,how's the relationship now?
On my case kase, we're just starting a relationship. Seaman din si BF then ako naman working overseas din.
I know naman the guy since 2010.Attempted to court me pero d ko siya inintertain. Then dec 2013 ayun nagstart na ulit communication namin. Ligaw uli siya. Then just this month sinagot ko na siya. Ang hirap din kase nagi-start palang kami.
