Haven't tried pd yet. Excited to try! I really Don't get the fuss about k by cunanan her food is okay but not THAT spectacular it's all overhyped, nasiraan siya ng one dish in a wedding I attended last year. The guests in my table didn't like the food din and that day the centerpieces didn't look all that great. I like Juan Carlo food out of all those mentioned. But don't like their styling. Pero the food is great!

I had food tasting with KbyC and we were disappointed. First, antagal i-serve ng food. Antagal namin nag antay. Second, the food they served were a little.. experimental and fancy. Third, the AE who attended to us was hindi ko feel. Hindi sya ganun ka accomodating. Pero kanya kanyang taste yan. I guess kami lang ni fiance yun.

because of all the hype with KbyC, pinush ko talaga na magpa-schedule ng FT with them kahit sa gitna pa ng linggo at mahirap mag-commute papunta sa office nila lalo na kung tanghali. as expected from my extensive research, forte talaga nila ang styling. kahit yung basic set up nila maganda na. pero we found the food so-so lang. they were generous with the serving naman pero i felt the AE we spoke to seemed a little uninterested (siguro dahil mukha akong poorita with my loose t-shirt & jeans. feeling ko lang naman yun. haha). tsaka since garden wedding kame, important samin yung ceremony styling at namahalan kame sa price na binigay nila. i get that hinde naman talaga necessary yung pagbibigay ng freebies or offer ng promos dahil syempre business pa din sila pero they offered us nothing enticing. na-feel ko tuloy na para bang pag nagbook kame sa kanila ako yung dapat na mag-thank you for the privilege. pero again, baka ako lang yun. haha
i really want to try PD because of all the raves pero di rin sila talaga accessible for us. buti na lang part sila ng FT event ng bridalbook.ph. :)

Naku grabe naman yang AE mo, sinong AE mo? Nakakainis yung ganyang feeling.

;D  hehe

Awww, pag hyped ka talaga mas madali siguro ma-disappoint ang tao sayo kasi super taas expecations. Pero kung mukhang uninterested yung AE at you felt na ikaw pa dapat mag-thank you dahil privilege na nakapag-FT ka sa kanila, it's not right :(   But will still try FT with them despite these bad FT feedback.  We have to experience it for ourselves before we can say anything.

i really encourage you na mag-FT pa din sa kanila. kase syempre based pa rin on my own personal experience yun and yours may be completely different. iba talaga yung nandun ka to see and get a feel of how they handle clients. di naman sila super disappointing kase there are a lot of brides na sobrang satisfied sa kanila. di lang talaga namen na-feel na sila yung caterer for us. it's good to take the opportunity to attend FT's kase isa 'to sa mga naging additional bonding moments namin ni fiancé at ito din siguro yung mga prep moments na masayang irecall even after the wedding. :)

We got Via Mare. Already did the downpayment after the FT and excited ako sa food! Our AE was also very nice and accommodating although with the styling medyo sablay lang kasi super basic lang sila but it's fine can't complain :)

Kaya ok talaga maging hands-on, dahil once mo lang maeexprience to plan your own wedding. Kasi the wedding day itself ay lilipas lang ng parang 10 mins, super bilis. Pero syempre it all comes down to that pa rin naman, kaya tayo nagpapakahirap mag-plan, so dapat super happy   and memorable ang araw na yun kahit pa may mga bagay na mangyayare that didn't go as planned. :)  We have been to Hizon's and CVJ FTs pa lang. Will try more. :) Happy preps sayo!

The bad feedback on K by C's making me nervous. We're going to book them at the SMX bridal fair next week na.

Should I check out Bizu kaya? Has anyone gotten them recently?

juwie, what dishes did you think were too experimental or fancy? I'm considering a caterer kasi whose food I would describe as fancy (and delicious) -- we love fine dining, and we wanted to serve exceptional food to our guests since they'll be travelling overseas for our wedding. But now I'm wondering if I should be worried that people will be put off by somewhat uncommon dishes :/

maybe, iba-iba lang kasi ang preference ng bawat tao. pero on our part, we chose K by C kasi my MIL prefers to serve uncommon dishes to our guests. yung hindi everyday fare.

during our FT, there were 4 of us who attended--me, my fiance, my mom and his mom. we were all impressed by the food, the presentation, the mock floral setup (not ours, since the mock-up is only for the couples who are having a final FT--but we liked it) and the taste of the dishes. we were also impressed with Jam, our AE.

sa mga reviews that I have been reading online, there are good and bad reviews about K by C. pero i think  i would rather attend to my wedding preparations than worry about those negative reviews. i emailed our AE about it, here's her reply:

"Thank you for your email, for sharing your thoughts with me, and for giving me a heads up.
I’m not sure how I would explain these reviews to you as these are not the events I handled. Rest assured, I’ll make sure things will work out well.

As for the same decors used in different weddings, clients normally choose their own backdrops. Also, if you would like to have a personal touch, we can talk about how to do it :)
As for the decors and flowers, we can finalise this on the final food tasting together with the mock setup :)"

i do not think that K by C is the best caterer around... not really the "all-holy" caterer as our bro GuyTalker here put it. but i prefer to stand by my choice since nobody can predict what will happen on his/her wedding day and i guess nobody really has a natural tendency or intention to do harm to other people...

i would rather guide my KbyC AE and my coordinator properly on how to manage my wedding to avoid mishaps as relayed by our helpful fellow GirlTalkers . :)

Yes center table is also yummy. And okay din! I don't get talaga k by c, a lot of people I know who went to the wedding was like the food parang something's missing lalo na the oldies. I think sa pangalan Lang talaga and hype.  masarap talaga Juan Carlo and center table also chef Jessie yummy din ang food. Bizu is also good with their desserts :) my wedding was in Antonio's---super recommended. Nowadays puro rustic din ang theme ng setup almost everyone is doing the same...

Hi seventars, ito yung naalala ko: sesame crusted pan seared tuna, korean tacos and soup paella. Weird ng soup paella. Yung iba hindi ko na maalala. Yung iba so-so, like the lengua with mushrooms and coffee panna cotta. I did like their Baked Penne. It's probably the best pasta I've tasted from all our FTs yet. And masarap din yung crepe with cream cheese filling and strawberry syrup nila. Lol. ;D

My caterer is Shekinah Dishes. Wala pa ako masyadong nababasang feedback, but when I had my FT with them, nasarapan naman kami ni H2B. Any other Shekinah couples here?

to all the b2b's who are considering KbyC or any other caterer for that matter, wag kayo masyado ma-bother if you read a bad or negative review about them. lalo na kung initial FT lang naman and not a feedback about the wedding day mismo. i posted my experience para lang din ma-level out yung expectations of those who are planning to get them. minsan kase we get too caught up with the things we read online kaya pagdating sa meeting mismo sobrang taas ng expectations naten and we find it easy to look for even the smallest faults. kaya nga may mga FT's ay para ma-gauge din ng couple for themselves if this is the right caterer to attend to their needs. if you have the time, maximize these opportunities kase you'll certainly learn a lot and that will help you with your decision eventually.
the key here is communication with your AE din like what sis fionaapple did. :) pag nakapili ka na ng supplier, di pwedeng hayaan mo lang sila na magpakita on your wedding day and expect them to deliver to your highest expectations lalo na if you're someone who's particular with details. you need to constantly inform and remind your suppliers of the things you want/need and document your conversations. tao din naman ang mga suppliers naten and they are prone to make some mistakes here and there kaya it's nice to keep a good relationship with them so you can easily relay ideas/feedback to each other. ;)

Hi! Has anyone tried Albergus Catering or Chef Florabel? Most of the feedbacks I read are for Purpledish and K by Cunanan. Thanks!  :)
