I also allot money for my "bad savings", para dun ako kukuha ng pera in case kulangin ako pag sumosobra sa budget. So, yeah, I'm keeping 3 ATMs (payroll, savings and bad savings).

Hahaha. I like this idea... "bad savings" account. I should make one for myself din... But siguro dito ko ilagay yung mga na-"save" ko from previous spend money allotment. Minsan kasi may sobra talaga eh.

pasali mga sis. this is how i try to save:

i have payroll account na regularly may pumapasok na money. I opened an account dun sa bank ng payroll account ng another account. This account transfers a certain amount every pay day dun sa other account.

Etong new account na to, online lang siya. No ATM no passbook. Magagalaw mo lang siya by transferring from that account to your savings account na may atm.

In this way, regularly may napupunta sa savings account ko. no need for me to go to the bank to deposit. at hindi ko siya nagagalaw basta basta.

Kung ano man matira sa sweldo ko pagkakaltas ng transfer, yun yung pagkakasiyahin ko until next pay day.

the other one is, lahat ng barya ko iniipon ko siya pagkauwi at nilalagay sa alkansya, Every after 2 months inoopen ko un at dinedeposit sa bank.

It's an additional 2 to 3 thousand depende kung gano kadami barya naiiwan sayo at the end of the day.

For the purpose ng mga special events, sumasali ako sa paluwagan sa office and ask them kung puwede ko makuha yung money on this occassion in time for the event like birthday, travel etc.

i hope this helps. :)

I have BPI Save up account, it used to be useless for me in terms of saving money because whenever I needed it I just transfer the funds back to my ATM acct. Ending, wala din savings. Then sa inis ko I removed the account from my BPI online, I thought by doing that it would close the Save Up account. After a few months when I was reviewing my transactions, I realized funds were still being transferred to it every pay day. So my Save Up is still open, and the good thing I have no access to its funds unless I call BPI and request  that they enroll it again. So this is how I'm saving money nowadays. Kahit konti lang at least my ipon.

Consider savings as your first expense. But more importantly, think of savings as a reward or an accomplishment, not a requirement.

For those who use apps to keep track of expenses, what app do you use?

I really like Toshl. It's super simple and easy to use. I can keep track of my income, my budget for savings, and my expenses for a month. It tells me how much I spent, and how much I can still spend if I want to stay within my budget. Also, there aren't any categories, so essentially you can customize your own categories for your own expenses. Mejo tedious, but there are tags you can use, so you can just use those next time you input a different expense for a different "tag" or category. My favorite feature is that you can log on to toshl.com and see your report online, para kahit mawala phone ko I can still see my budget tracking. May password feature din so if I do lose my phone, nobody will see my expenses pa rin.

Bakit ko nasabi yan? One time, during our office chikahan, nakwento ko sa officemate ko yung Malaysia Trip ko with our other officemates.

"How to Become a Millionaire by 30"

7) Pretend you are poor and show few signs of wealth. Stay humble despite amassing a fortune. Don’t show off or waste money on things you don’t need. Make people believe you are younger and poorer than you really are. I drive a 13 year old car and wear t-shirts, jeans, and a baseball cap most of the time. They think I’m 5-7 younger than I am, and give me little respect. That is exactly the way I want to be viewed so the car salesmen don’t bother me.  Always be the underdog to get ahead. I would say at least 70% of the millionaires I know are very low key. You can’t tell they have a lot of money except for when you get to their house.

^ hehe! Ganyan din ako. Mas magandang maging simple ka lang, walang luho, sa pananamit, naka-shirt lang at rubber shoes. When my boss shared RICH DAD POOR DAD book, naging aware ako financially and I spend wisely na hindi tulad dati. Kaya ang laki din pasasalamat ko dun sa tao na yun. It was 2008 back then when he shared it to me. I tried to shared the same book to other people, even my dad, kaso tamad magbasa! Hahaha! Oh well...

Basta stick ka lang sa NEEDS mo and not WANTS. Plan ahead sa target mo na maiipon. Kapag na-achieve mo yung target mo, reward yourself. Take and use the good advantages of the credit card, have sideline job or business and exchange it to your free time, spend less and live happy, hwag mainggit sa mga taong updated sa gadgets at magagarang pananamit, magtanim sa paligid na namumunga, magrecycle, at higit sa lahat magbigay ng something in return sa mga mahihirap at kay God. :-)
