As in every hour nagigising, with matching iyak. It came to the point na I hated nights kasi wala din lang naman akong tulog, because I breastfed.
Anyway, I realized later on na I was not burping him properly. My MIL was the one who told me, try to burp him before, during and after the feed. Yun pala, I really need to hear and "feel" that he has burped. Otherwise, dapat I keep on trying to get the burp out. I used colic drops (Dentinox & Infacol brands) for my baby - which was given to him before he was fed - which made it easier for him to burp. I dunno kung anong brands ang available dyan sa atin, but you might want to try these as well kasi it helped my baby, baka effective din sa inyo.
So when it came to his second month, may routine na ako. Pag nagising sya, I check his diaper, change it, check his shirt kung napawisan ba sya (change if necessary), I put him back in his swaddlesack, then I feed him, tapos burping time na. And then on his second month, may routine na rin sya, like every two hours ang feed - I feed him as much as he can finish (either direct BF or expressed BM)...Eventually naging three hours yung gap - we don't give him any milk in between feeds. Sometimes kasi hindi naman talaga sila "gutom", they just want to be cuddled o kaya kailangang i-change lang ang diaper.
^Sis Cerelina, ok lang to breastfeed kahit may sugat yung nipple kung hindi naman too painful for you. Or you can buy those nipple shields (yun yata ang name) para may protection while baby feeds. I bought those kasi yung baby ko was "gumming" my nipples and super sakit na, at one point it was bleeding pa. When it does bleed and your baby ingests some blood, ingat lang din kasi baka mag cause yung blood ingested ng irritation kay baby (which will then cause him to have funny looking stools).
