Hi sisses!

I'm a newbie here.. My OB is Dra. Daisy Sia of Metropolitan Medical Center in Masangkay Sta. Cruz, Mla. She quoted us 40-45K for NSD and 70K for CS. First check-up s kanya is 500 less 100 for succeeding check-ups. Mejo nmamahalan p nga kami ni hubby pero ok n rin since first baby namin auko n din mghanap p ng ibang OB. We tried s Metro Doctors lying-in s my Tondo, Manila pero sobrang dami pla ng ngpapacheck-up dun. Btw.. I'm expecting to give birth on June 8, 2013.

@sweetscience how'd you find out about doc aguilar? Ako kasi research reasearch nun online tapos nagpa sched so obs na gusto ko yung review, doc aguilar was the first one we visited and liked na she seemed experienced and practical. Sa friendly care din kami nagpapacheck kasi doon ang sat clinic niya, katuwa nga its cheaper than taking tests sa cardinal mismo.

sis ni-refer siya ng ninang namin sa kasal na doctor din.. nababasa ko na din feedback sa kanya dito sa GT kaya we decided na magpunta sa kanya.. ako naman thur nagpapa-check up.. super blockbuster kasi pag saturday tapos late pa si doc

^thanks sis..ah, congrats.. this jan lang pala.. sana by nov ganun pa din rate.. pero sana normal delivery para mas ok.. yap, gusto ni dra weekly monitoring.. kaya weekly ako pumupunta sa kanya.. talaga inaalagaan niya pasyente..

Normal delivery din sana target namin kaso almost due na ako di pa rin bumababa si baby. On my 40th week, biglang suggest si Doc na mag-cs na kasi malaki din baby ko (9.2lbs) and di pa bumababa. Buti nalang we saved up enough for either cs/normal delivery. St. Lukes Global sana ang first choice namin but Doc Angge insisted na sa PGH ako manganganak kasi aside from being mas practical, mas malapit din sa house namin. May deposit pala sa PGH for the rooms and mas maiging maaga magpareserve para di maubusan. When I was scheduled for CS, I was admitted a day earlier the scheduled operation. Yung 2nd nalang sa pinakamahal na room ang available so wala kaming choice but to pay for its deposit.

^thanks for sharing sis.. atleast may idea na kami.. i assume maganda naman yung rooms ng pgh? kasi di naman charity case.. we'll pay for it naman.. at ilang days lang naman magsstay dun after delivery diba..

^Di ko type yung room ko sis kasi di pa siya renovated. Not worth its rate pero no choice kasi yun lang ang available. Approximately 30k down namin sa room na yun. Lumang luma, yung cr is functional pero di nagana shower and madumi tingnan yung tiles kasi luma na. Ang gusto ko lang malaki yung size ng room and may 1 extra bed for the bantay and another long seat for another companion na pwede ring tulugan. Lagi rin may naglilinis ng room. Almost 70K ang nashell-out namin kasama na yung down sa room pero nirefund naman yung excess after 1 month saka may bawas pa ako sa Philhealth. Overall, kasama na yung refund and discount sa PF ni ob + anes + pedia, we paid approximately 50k for CS. Maganda rin pala dun sa PGH, meron staff ng Philhealth na pupunta sa room mo to get your Philhealth documents.

^pero puwedeng i-request yung renovated room? or kung ano lang sis ang available yun lang talaga? same price ang renovated at hindi? anong docs need for philhealth discount? voluntary member kasi si hubby at dependent niya ako.. nag-pay na kami ng contribution hanggang december this year pra wala ng prob.. so ang hawak lan namin is MDR and receipt.. sorry madami tanong.. thanks sis!

For soon-to-moms who are planning to give birth in Makati Medical Center, my OB gave me this quotation:

NSD without Nursery: Php 53k-60k
Inclusions: Semi-private room, anesthesia (epidural), new born screening test, doctor's pf, medications

NSD with Nursery:  Php 80k-90k with same inclusions as above

CS without Nursery: Php83k with same inclusions as above

CS with Nursery: Php130k with same inclusions as above

We're probably going for NSD without Nursery to save money

@sweetscience : pwede magrequest basta early ka nagpareserve and di pa taken yung room. According dun sa in-charge sa admissions, magpareserve daw at least a month before your scheduled date. Higher konti ng 500/day ang renovated rooms but the deposit required is P40,800 upon admission.

Sa amin kasi last minute na nagdecide si doc na cs ako kaya kung ano lang available kinuha namin. Hirap din kasi if di namin kunin yung available,  we might end up not having a room or  baka sa ward kami mapunta na walang privacy.

If pasok sa 9 month contribution prior to your duedate ang hulog ni hubby mo sis sa Philhealth, pasok kayo sa discount. Kelangan lang MDR, photocopy of receipts and Philhealth ID +  filled out Philhealth forms.

sis sweetscience yes so true! her saturday clinic is c-r-a-z-y 1st visit we were waiting for more than 3hrs and that was after 12nn (which is supposed to be the start of her clinic hours) we got there 9am and we were already number 7 sa queue! but halos 33 people were waiting for her, si hubby was already wanting to go home na but she must really be worth it if a lot of people were there waiting diba? siguro kasi she felt guilty na naghintay kami we were surprised that she didn't charge us her consultation fee na just the ultrasound. pero during the 2nd visit she was on time, this time she charged consultation fee but we're not complaining, tama lang naman talaga doon pa lang we felt like we could trust her

sis tamarind26 glad to hear you had a great experience with her during childbirth, yes true it seems reasonable naman nadadala lang siguro kami sa mga in laws ko who are saying to keep looking for a cheaper ob. non nego talaga for me ang cardinal santos

hi there! any one who gave birth in Unihealth Tagaytay? Dun daw ako manganganak sabi ng OB ko, since dun din naman ang regular check up ko.. Eto ang quotations niya: 25k for Normal delivery, 32-35k Normal delivery (painless procedure). Hindi pa less ang philhealth dun.. Then 60k for CS (less philhealth na).. Ang hindi ko lang natanong e kung ano na included dun sa mga package na yun.. Anyway, the hospital rooms and facilities are ok naman.. always clean.. And my OB is mabait naman at maalaga, siya din ang OB ng sister ko for her 2 children..

Hi sis yang.. kay dra. palala naman ako, yan daw yung packages nila sa MMC.. maybe you can ask your OB kung may additional pag high risk pregnancy on your next check up.. is it your first baby?

^ first born ko sis. i asked dra cabrera accdg to her for uncomplicated pregnancy lang daw yun which sadly i dont fall in. sayang.

si tamarind26 - since nov 20 due date ko based on LMP dapat pala by mid October magpa-request na ako. re philhealth, updated naman contribution ni hubby.. paid na kami hanggang december para wala ng maging problema. thanks for the tips sis! big hlp talaga

sis bummed - grabe saturday sched noh! kaya di talaga ako pumupunta pag saturday. sobrang dami pasyente at mas madalas late si dra. re dra's rate, pag work up pa lang mura charge niya sa friendly care kasama na ultrasound.. 450(discounted) lang ata bayad ko nun.. but nung na-preggy ako, naging 1080 (discounted) na.. kahit same lang ginagawa every check up ngayon weekly ako bumabalik kay dra to monitor baby's  progress. Yung mga friends ko nga na buntis din sabi baka daw pineperahan lan ako ni dra kasi weekly, sila monthly lang.. samin naman ni hubby ok lang yun basta sure na safe si baby. pero practical din kaya decided na kami na sa PGH na ako manganganak.
