Just found this thread - loving it already! :) Parang gusto ko nang mag-grocery now na! Hehe. Mukhang must-try yung pork kinamatisan - hopefully by next week ma-try ko mga recipes nyo mga sis. Wala ako ma-share kasi hindi talaga ko pala-luto - more on pala-kain lang. Pero dahil nakakasawa na yung usual ulam, might as well try cooking a different kind of meal naman. :)

Patola and Tomato Soup

1K Patola cut into cubes
4pcs Tomato cut into cubes
2pc siling haba (optional)
Fish Sauce
15pcs Calamansi - squeeze juice and discard seeds (optional)
1. Put chopped Patola and Tomato in a pan and cook in a very low fire and cover.
2. once the veggies are soft get a strainer and press the liquid out of the veggies.
3. Throw the veggies away and season with fish sauce and add the siling haba and calamansi juice.

****You can put bangus or sugpo para may ulam na din.

Taste like sinigang!  If ayaw ng maasim pwedeng walang calamansi.

Very healthy!!!  My 7yr old son loves it!!!

^need mo tanggalin yung water sa veggies kasi itatapon mo siya yung tubig lang ng veggies and iinumin mo.

hi sis SnowBall.. anong part ng manok ang ginamit mo for this recipe?  and may I know if you did exact same thing as when you used pork? or did you change any procedure?  I've cooked Pork Kinamatisan several times and am glad even my picky daughter (hubby too) is liking it already  :)   ..Thanks!

^HEHEH [textspeak!] KINAMTISANG pork, lagyan mo lang ng tubig at gulay like pechay, labanos at sili panigang, sinigang sa kamatis na. yum yum! basta madaming kamatis para mas masarap.

Macaroni with Spaghetti sauce

elbow macaroni noodles
chopped garlic and onion to saute
1 cup luncheon meat (sliced in small squares)
1 cup corned beef
small can of liver spread
1/2 cup condensed milk
1 cup all purpose cream
cheese whiz (optional)

1.cook noodles.drain and cool.
2.saute garlic and onion. add luncheon meat. stir for few minutes until luncheon meat becomes brown.
3.add corned beef and liver spread. stir occasionally.
4.add spaghetti sauce, condensed milk and all purpose cream. mix well.
5.add cheese whiz as desired.sauce will be ready in 5-7 minutes.mix the sauce to the macaroni.

Note: purefoods yung brands ng corned beef, luncheon meat at liver spread na ginamit ko. ito lang kasi mga available sa bahay. kayo na mag-estimate how much sauce will you put on the pasta. ako kasi gusto ko ma-sauce. hehe

I cooked the tofu sisig using pork giniling.  At first, medyo nagdry yung pork when I fry it kaya the second time saute na lang sa oil hanggang maluto.  Masarap siya sabi ni hubby better than eating pork ears and etc etc... thanks sis for the recipe.

I also tried it with tuna pero hindi bagay yung sauce mas masarap kung mayo na lang mix sa tuna

I usually eat at this Restaurant - Eat Well and one of my favorites is the green beans so I've tried to re-do my own version of the recipe.

I served it to my picky husband and in fairness, he liked it.

Green Beans and Minced Pork Sautee

Ingredients:

2-3 bunches of Green Beans cut into 1 1/2 inch lengths
1/2 kilo pork giniling
minced garlic
1 small shallot minced
cooking oil
salt
pepper
----------------------------------------
3 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/8 cup water

Directions: (10-15 mins)
- Heat oil and sautee green beans until the beans turn a darker green in color, set aside green beans.
- Sautee garlic, onions and minced pork in oil and make sure you break the meat apart, season with salt and pepper.
- When meat is cooked, add green beans into the wok/pan and continue to heat through.
- Mix oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, dissolved cornstarch
- Add the sauce mixture in the beans and meat
- Wait for the sauce to thicken. You may opt to serve it saucy or a bit more dry.

Serve with steamed rice :)

Tried this chicken sisig recipe, pambaon ng son ko since school time na naman... Experimented muna kanina and it was an instant hit!

Ingredients:
10 pcs of whole Thighs and Legs ( i used 3/4 chicken giniling instead )
3 big onions
5 pcs of green chilis (mild)
100 grams of butter
Salt and pepper
Soy sauce
Lemon juice
Vinegar

Cooking Procedure:
- Debone the chicken and chop into small pieces
- Chop the onions and green chilis
- Heat up the pan and sauté the onion until it's half cooked then set aside
- Using the same pan, fry the chopped chicken until it’s tender but if it has broth throw that. Chicken needs to be cooked until it’s a little bit brown.
- When the chicken is cooked, pour the cooked onions.
- Pour salt, pepper, lemon juice, soy sauce and vinegar. The measurement depends on your taste buds. The technique to not overdo it is to pour little by little until you get your desired taste.
- Lastly pour the chopped chilis.

I also poured in a little bit of a mayo... Healthy alternative for pork sisig! Try ko to with pork giniling next week!
