meron akong friend from quebec sila kaso lumipat ng new brunswick kasi di sya makahanap ng work dun  dahil di sya magaling sa french kahit na libre french lesson nahihirapan pa rin sya, she is a nurse sa pinas.

^^feeling ko lang kasi maraming resources dito in Canada. Hindi impossible and magwork at mag aral at the same time. Siguro kasi, society and culture structure wise, ok eh. Here in Winnipeg, una, bihira ang traffic. In 30 minutes I can get home. Second, hindi uso ang OTY dito unlike sa Pinas. Kung 4pm ang uwian, boss pa ang magpapauwi sayo. Parang feeling ko, I have more time here. Little things like that, talagang na-appreciate ko ng sobra. Also, you do not need to be a college graduate to earn big money. You can study certificates muna and see where it goes and then continuously upgrade ka na lang if you want to. The simplicity of life here in Winnipeg din siguro kasi. I have officemates who works at Admin, Customer Service jobs that are 60 years old and masaya na sila dun. May mga anak at apo na yang mga yan ha pero they do not care working at jobs that may seem entry level sa ibang tao.

I don't know, maybe it's just me. Yun lang kasi yung nafeel ko when I got here. Parang ako pa yung napaisip kung ano ba pwede gawin. Of course, mahal ang tuition pero kung matyaga ka talaga magagawan mo ng paraan yun. If you are resourceful enough, may mga bursaries and help naman from the government without resorting to student loan. Good luck sayo sis!

Kung single or wala pang anak madaling pagsabayin ang school and work dito. Pag may anak medyo mahirap sa schedule, but pwede pa rin (night class, online etc.), may ways naman talaga kung gusto mo. Nung nag-aral ako, sa weekend work ko. Yung anak ko, kinuha ko friend ko sa pinas as live-in. Pagka graduate ko (one year) ni release ko sya to find other employer, it works for both of us and Im so thankful. From time to time, i still enroll for short courses that interest me. Ang maganda dito sa canada, you will always find a job that will work for your time, schedule.

I think pwede naman, as skilled worker, yun lang, be prepared, if ever na pasado ka sa criteria sa CIC, baka ma-question ka naman dito ng embassy (CEM), kasi magtataka sila kung san galing ang settlement funds mo

hmm, yung mga kabatch ko na preggy, don ata natagalan yung application nila, kasi need nilang ideclare yung baby, kung malapit na silang manganak, pero may isa ata na umalis preggy siya, don na manganganak e, hehe..

pero kasi kapag preggy, hindi pa tapos yung MR nila, kasi bawal ang xray, kaya after pang manganak maccomplete yung MR.

hmm, last year, sa CIC muna, tapos ifforward nila sa CEM once na ok na.

ngayon, hmm, as skilled worker, sa Express Entry, not sure lang kung sa CIC pa, kasi lam ko, may MR ng kasama once na nakareceive ka ng ITA..yung MR kasi, sa CEM na yun e..so baka sa CEM na lahat ng requirements, since pumasok ka na sa ITA stage

Hello. Hindi pa ako makapag start ng new thread. Ask ko lang sana kung meron dito mga nag apply ng Caregiver sa Canada and waiting for Medical or Speak Test request. Or can someone please make a new thread for me title "Any Caregivers applying to Canada" possible ba ito? Thanks in advanca!

^^ Kami we give tip to taxi. Basically, me and family members give tip to all services. It is considered polite here, I think. Plus, some credit card machines have tip option. Nakakahiya naman kung zero ilagay diba. It is better to explore workshops or seminars in your area about settlement in Canada. Here is Winnipeg kasi may 1 week, half day each day ako na pinuntahan telling you things about Canada. Mga basic facts, to housing, school for kids, transportation, politics, looking for work. Basta marami. Masaya sya and useful naman lalo na wala pa naman ako work noon. Chance din to build networks diba. Marami naman ako natutunan plus we are encouraged to share kung ano yung pinagkaiba ng Canada sa Philippines which is funny and embarrassing sometimes. I can only cringe pag usapang corruption na. We are a mix of people from other nationalities din so you are open to their culture. What is appropriate and what is not. Try to check out events at your area.

meron dito tinatawag na personal space. like kung sa pila ayaw nila ng masyadong malapit sa kanila. Kung pupunta ka sa friend mo or relatives tawag ka muna to let them know in advance like a week or days ahead. Yung price na nakalagay sa mga bilihin dito wala pa yung tax dun. Sa taxi nagbibigay ako lagi ng tip depende kung magkano kung machika yung driver malaki bigay ko. Isip pa ako.

When you order coffee at Tim Horton's, you say the size (small, medium or large) and then the mix of sugar and cream. Like double-double for 2 cream and 2 sugar or triple-triple for 3 cream and 3 sugar. So you say, "One Medium Double-double, please."    Even at Mcdo, that is how we order coffee.

Other tip:
Don't be shy when asking for help or directions. People here are very helpful. & most Canadians they always greet or say "Hi how are you?" Or "How's your day?"..and "Have a nice day" when parting.
So, do answer na lang siempre and greet them as well
