not sure if you can work here as a nurse agad... i've known people who've worked in the middle east as nurses yet when they arrived here, has to take some come courses to able to work not as an RN but a RPN.

Hi sisses!  Mukhang OT ito pero hihingi lang sana ko ng suggestion sa inyo.  I applied for PR visa and done na with medical pati si husband and baby.  Initially, ako lang sana ang pupunta and non-accompanying dependents ko sila.  Ni require si husband to pay ng right of permanent fee but i reiterate to them na non-accompanying si husband.  Now, parang nagdadalawang isip ako na isama na siya para magka tulungan kami and tsaka na lang kunin si baby pag medyo okay na kami.  Ano ba mas okay mga sis, ako muna or isama ko na si husband?  (Im not sure pa if i a allow ni embassy to na i cha change ko to "accompanying" dependent na si husband.) Destination is Winnipeg. TIA

^Depende sis, kung may trustworthy kayo na mapag-iiwanan sa baby, isama mo na si husband mo sis. At least dalawa kayo. Isa man sa inyo makakuha ng work, eh di ok. Kung mag-isa ka lang kasi, magrerely ka lang sa sarili mo diba. Anong work ba ang balak nyo I-pursue?

^Hi sis.   Yun nga ang iniisip ko, parang mas ok kung kami nang 2 ang pumunta para madali maka ipon at settle.  Gusto ko sana sa opisina, pero alam ko hindi madaling makapasok sa office so kahit anong work willing kami.  Travel Agent ako, IT naman si husband.  We know din naman na hindi namin ma pa practice yung profession namin pagdating dyan, kaya kahit anong work ok lang sa amin. Sana payagan ni embassy na i change ko sya to accompanying dependent.

ano bang okay na private insurance in British Columbia? yung temp lang while on waiting period sa Medicare pag migrate namin.

^may medical issue ba ang pupunta (like asthma, uti etc.)or required ba sa application? Kung wala naman i would not recommend na kumuha ng insurance kasi mga 2 months lang naman makukuha mo na medicare card mo e. Yung kapatid ko kasi required so kinunan ko sakitin pa yun partida pagdating dito kahit sipon ubo wala naka 2 winter na sya di nagkakasakit. Binayad ko sa insurance nya $265 a month. So anlaki din. Pwede rin na pagdating mo rito saka ka na maghanap madami naman e.

Hi sisses. I want to work sana in Canada para makaipon at makuha ko rin sana yung family ko kung papalarin. Question po, how do I start? Saan pwede mag apply na hindi po ako maloloko? I am currently an IT consultant, pero kahit simple office clerk basta ok ang ang sahod pwede na ako. Thank you.

^^if you are a newly landed immigrant, will will not be covered by OHIP (Onario health insurance) for a couple of months. After that you will have to apply for a health card. Every time you go to a doctor, present your health card, you will not pay anything. What is covered by ohip are medical check-up, xray, ultrasound, blood, urine, etc kinds of test. If you get pregnant you dont pay when you give birth. If na-confine ka for any kind of illness, that's covered also.

What is not covered is any kind of dental exam, preventive maintenance, bunot, pasta and the like. You can buy separate insurance for this or you can be provided by your company.

wala naman po existing medical issue, pero we dont want to take a risk din kasi.

Naku, pinapauwi na po ang mga Temporary Foreign Workers dito. By April, sobrang dami na ang uuwi. Desperado na nga sila, hindi malaman kung ano ang gagawin.

Also, noong nagha-hire pa sila ng temporary workers, hindi sila kumukuha ng office workers. Blue collar jobs lang talaga (mostly fastfood crew). Kahit nga mga permanent resident dito ay hindi basta basta makakakuha ng office job, kailangan ng Canadian experience o mag-aral pa uli. Ang mga new immigrants talagang survival jobs lang muna ang nakukuha.

I work for an insurance company and most companies in Alberta are either terminating or downgrading their benefits para sa empleyado para makatipid. Oil prices are just a pain.

Sis crzysxycl, If you have friends or relatives living in Manitoba then you can qualify for Provincial Nominee. Makakapunta ka sa Manitoba pero hindi guaranteed ang work. Ikaw na ang bahala sa sarili mo pagdating mo. Pero ok na rin at least andito ka na. Plus Permanent Resident agad ang status nyan.

Question again. If pasta ng ngipin or bunot, or medicine, mura lang ba if ever na wala pa kameng insurance..

Medo may kamahalan, min siguro for simple case bunot $100++ - though I'm not really certain since we have coverage. root canal is probably 1k++.
but normally before bunot or pasta is performed, meron pa xray which is a separate pay. Sa gamot naman, kahit hindi dental related yan, if there is prescription, there is pharmacy dispensing fee, this is an additional cost to the cost of the meds itself.

another concern ko pala if ever na matuloy na kami mag migrate, saan ko kaya pwede ipacontinue yung adjustment ng braces ko? 3 years na kasi and im currently overseas kaya ang tagal ng progress.

There are a lot of orthodontics here so they can continue with your treatment.
