^^ that's the case of my cousin, sis. kinuha sila, PR na din sila ng kids. before nila makuha, nag apply sila for tourist visa ng kids twice, both times they were denied. at least ngayon, andyan na sila at okay na sila dyan.

so sis, di pa kami makaka avail ng benefits, kasi spouse open work permit lang eh? that is the only way kasi that we can go there, november of next year pa kasi si hubby makakapag apply as pr thru skilled worker eh.

Sorry sis roxykarlo, i am not familiar with the spouse open work permit. If hindi PR or Citizen, walang benefits from the government kasi hindi ka pa naman talaga resident. Mahirap din ata i-tourist si baby. Paano pag nag-expire?

^^ ahh sorry i didn't know that. pero yung anak kasi ng pinsan ko, may uniform. grade school sila. st. michael catholic school ata sila.

meron catholic schools talaga na may uniform. actually, hindi naman uniform yan na tulad sa catholic highschool or private schools na meron school logo, etc. its just like a color scheme the school will adopt. like blue or khaki for pants then white for tops. pero kahit ano style.

If you are just a temporary worker, wala kang benefits. those with PR status meron na benefit. in ontario, a child below 6yrs will receive $100 monthly regardless of financial capacity of the family, plus there is a child tax benefit for under 18, but this one is dependent on the family income. the more income, the lesser the kid gets.

ok thanks you mga sis. actually kasi po pwede i-apply ng skilled foreign worker ang spouse and kid niya to temporarily stay there during the duration of the contract, which in turn, after a year of skilled work experience, thes killed worker can apply for a PR inland. yun nga lang, there are no benefits if not a PR yet.

^ May kilala ako na cook tapos pinasunod niya wife niya to work din sa same inn where he works. Ayun, nabuntis nga lang agad yung girls so she had to quit. Suwerte kasi doon pinanganak yung bata kaya Canadian citizen na. Libre naman lahat sa hospital (so benefit yun) tapos they are getting monthly from the government (or is it because Canadian na rin yung baby?).

yes sis. ganun nga talaga dun. automatic ba na magiging canadian citizen ang mother pag yung baby citizen dun?

^Hindi, sis. Actually pwede rin ngang mapauwi sa home country yung mother eh (that is, kung hindi sila eligible for PR). Yung ibang cases na nabasa ko, pag 18 na lang saka bumabalik sa Canada yung mga anak na Canadian citizen hehe.

yun din ang nangyari sa co-worker ng hubby ko sa mdo gp. pinauwe ang girl (crew) kasi nanganak na. hindi kasi siya eligible for PR kasi fca lang siya, di siya skilled worker. pero ang anak niya, naiwan sa Canada, under government's care. ginawa ng company is that hired siya uli, nakabalik dun, then pina take ng exam for managerial position, nakapasa, then manager trainee na. after a year, she can apply for PR. but her child still gets full benefits from the government. the child is 4months old na daw now.

^Yung friend naman ng cousin ko pinauwi sa Pinas ng gobyerno. LPN siya tapos na-out-of-work, hindi naging PR. Dalawa naging anak niya sa Canada (pero may pamilya siya sa Pinas ha) pero ayun, sinulatan ng government. Pinauwi sila. Nang sinabi niya na wala siyang pamasahe, binigyan sila government.

No. Maraming ganyan, nauuna pa na citizen ang baby before sa parents. hehe.

For some reason, ang dami ngang biglang nabubuntis pagdating dito. Also, just some information, on the maternity benefit. 1 year kasi ang maternity leave and a percentage of your salary is still being paid to you by the government through employement insurance. hindi ko sure kung ilang weeks pero may qualifying period kasi yan or number of weeks/months na dapat nagcocontribute ka sa EI before ma-avail ito. Kaya, wag magpabuntis agad. hehe. Sayang din yung makukuha mo while not working.

naaliw ako sa pagbabasa dahil sa pagbubuntis na yan. hehe. anyway girls di ba sa pinas pag name lang ng mother ang nasa b.cert ni baby the sole custody is hers. so there's no need for me to secure an Agreement of full custody from baby's dad. ok na kaya yun o baka hingan pa ko ng immigration ng canada?

^i have seen a lot of cases like that, yung nabubuntis na caregiver. usually ganoon naman ginagawa kasi nila thinking maging citizen yung bata.

we have a friend asking us if we would like to help a caregiver na nabuntis, baka gusto daw namin sa bahay kahit shelter lang daw tapos she'll help out naman daw sa bahay kasi the employer kicked her out. eh ayaw ko naman kasi baka mapaano pa yun kargo pa pa namin. dont know what happened to her, i think she was adopted somehow pero walang sweldo kasi no employer will take her.

if you dont have an employer and the visa expires, you would have to return home, pero... you can opt to stay, illegally nga lang.

Hi mga sis. We just got our visa notice kahapon. Ask ko lang how long do i have to stay sa canada before i become a citizen?

I'm 21 years old, CPA. i know hindi maccredit ang pagkaCPA ko sa Canada. Mahirapan kaya ako makahanap ng job? Sa Toronto kami ng family ko.

Also, can I bring my dog with me? Need pa ba ng dog ng visa or something?

^3 years sis before you can apply for citizenship and medyo mahaba din ang processing for citizen. sila hubby, landed Canada ng May 2007, nag-oath taking sila ng  October 2012. Yung 3 years or 1,097 days kahit accumulated lang yan pero in a span of 4 years yan dapat yung 3 years mo nasa Canada ka. So ok lang na umuwi ng Pilipinas basta hindi matagal and crossing of border going to US is also not counted sa 3 years of stay.

I have "batchmate" sa spousal visa noon, her husband yung nasa Pinas and is bringing their dog to Calgary. I they hired some pet agency para yung agency yung maglalabas ng dog and magpapakain pagdating ng Vancouver. No direct flights kasi going to Calgary from Manila. Pero may Manila to Toronto naman ata. So mas madali for you. Pero strict sa bringing of animals. Fresh fruits nga bawal magdala eh, so mas mahigpit sa animals pero pwede naman kung sa pwede, mahabang process lang.

Like I said, CPA is a good base job kasi nga very flexible from admin, payrollm accounts receivable. depende sa experience mo sa Pinas. But stiff ang competition sa Toronto, big city kasi ang madaming tao.

Happy to hear about your success stories there in Canada.

I also want to work there.  But i don't know where to start. Should i look for an agency here (phils) to look for a job or do i search the net for jobs.
