I waited for more than 2hours then kinuha ko at inoffer ko breast ko, subo lang niya pero tulog na tulog, i did all the tricks, tickle dito, kalabit dito tulog talaga parang lalo pa napasarap tulog dahil nakadikit siya sa boobs ko.. Mamaya palang ako magpapump kasi, late dumating breastpump ko.. 3days old palang naman si baby, malambot parin breast ko minamassage ko siya lagi at hot compress but i guess i really need my sons help para magkamilk..
just keep on letting baby latch lang don't worry meron yan nakukuha, keep in mind that your colostrum is what your baby's getting and this is VERY important since it'll make your baby's immune system stronger. the reason why nakasubo lang si baby mo as what we've been always saying here is nagcocomfort nursing cya, and this is very normal for babies specially newborn ones.

and i won't recommend you pumping so early, mabubugbog boobs mo. focus on direct feeding your son first.

mature milk sometimes can take up to 5 days bago lumabas. relax lang. and sorry but i dont see the need to give formula to your baby. giving formula to your baby jeopardizes your supply.

i'm CS and i started BFing the moment i woke up... my baby is 10 months today, never had formula. i pump during the day, direct feed during the night.

i will try to pump more often because lumalakas naman consumption ni little princess ko kahit malakas magsolids :)

I was afraid wala ako milk when I give birth lalo na pro-bf sa TMC. They don't even encourage bottle feeding not at least after 4 weeks. I'm glad and fortunate na sa recovery room pa Lang when one one of the nurses tried to latch my baby eh may lumabas na from both breasts.

Pero being a mom now, I guess may kakaibang Lakas ka na hehe.

I can't wait to try my Medela breast pump though.. 1.5 more weeks. Prepare na rin ako before going back to work :)

Thanks sis, kaso bat ganon si baby, i know hirap ako pagkuha ng proper latching position but once na nakuha naman niya ramdam ko tuloy tuloy ang suck niya. Sobra sakit nipple ko nasugat na nga pero tiis lang ako, then after 20 mins, umiiyak nanaman, offer ko other side for 10 mins nanaman kaming maghuhulihan, then pagnakasuck same again after 20 to 30 minutes cry ulit siya, nastress pa ako kay hubby kasi panay sabi bigyan ko na formula, nung naawa ako kakacry i tried to give formula, tumahimik at natulog na... :(

ganyan din ako before, sis marssie.  mega-iyak baby and super worried ako na gutom sya at walang nakukuhang milk sa kin kaya nag-formula ako agad.  but then, nabasa ko na we shouldn't worry about the amount of milk we supply and they get kasi enough daw yun.  pero nakaka-panic kasi talaga pag umiiyak na baby.  also, make sure tama pag-latch nya coz if not, super magsusugat talaga nips mo and super sakit to the point na unbearable na sya (at least, based sa experience ko sa 1st ko)...

Newborns cry for different reasons.  Hindi lang hunger.  And please do not equate formula to satisfaction.  Be secure in the knowledge that women were able to raise their babies on breastmilk alone before the invention of formula and that is why if you just follow the law of breastfeeding (breastfeed on demand to build your supply), nature will take its course.  Once you alter the natural process, you risk compromising your supply.

I suggest you engage your husbands in your breastfeeding endeavors, not as taga-buyo na baka gutom pa si baby yada yada bigyan natin kahit isang bote lang ng formula, but as taga-burp (baka ito reason bakit uncomfortable ang baby mo, sis marssie), taga-hele, taga-hug, taga-karga, etc.

Be strong!  Resist, resist, resist the urge to give a bottle.

;) kaya mo yan!

Same here! Then out of blue bigla iiyak so i thought ubos na yung milk sa breast so i will transfer her to the other side, after ilang mins iiyak ulit. Now we know!!  :)

^^^^^please don't equate crying to hunger. this is a very wrong notion. babies cry for a lot of  reasons not just because they're hungry. and if you REALLY want to breastfeed, ditch the bottle first. magkaka nipple confusion ang baby mo sa pagintroduce ng bottle so early...

Thanks po sa replies and advices.. Dami ko milk today, and now i know na ano problema ko, di ko makuha tamang pagpapalatch. Ayaw ko naman sisihin cute kong nipples.. More practice pa talaga.. I do check his diaper din. Hirap ako sa pagpapaburp lalo na at sobrang liit ng baby ko, pero i still try my best kasi baka nga yun din prob.. Anyway, thanks again sissies.. Hope one day ako naman nag aadvise at nagsishare ng successful experience about bf :)

^I can sort of relate sis doon sa case mo about sa hubby mo. NO!!! Napakapakialamero. Eh now nagiging pampatulog nya ang milk minsan. Kaya medyo sinusunod na ako. Haha. I plan to EBF her up to her 1st birthday. Better if beyond but for now iyan ang plan ko. Mas malakas kasi resistensya nya because of BM.

^ thanks sis, thats what im doing right now, at madalas una ko napapansin at nalulula pa ako sa laki ng nipples ng ibang moms ;D ingit much :).

Lol.

^wala sa size ng nipple ang capacity ng mommy to breastfeed. don't worry take it one step at a time lang. if you're having problems with latching, try to consult a lactation consultant if ever. if feeling mo engorged na yung kabila, you can hand express instead to relieve engorgement.

do latching classes work?  the ones given by the hospitals?  di pa ko naka-attend nito but i wanna attend one.  may nabasa kasi ako feedback before na di raw effective.  it's like a lecture on how to ride a bike daw.
