Gusto ko sana makarinig based on experience. Thanks!
i took augmentin for a week and continued to bfeed, ok naman wala naman naging negative effect kay baby

^drink tons of malunggay soup and papaya veggie soup. Ulam ko yan everyday, lunch and dinner. Then before breastfeeding, massage your breast and i-hot compress mo. It works for me!

Sis how many times do u latch your baby? The more u latch the more milk. Kung ayaw mo naman tumigil sa formula, u should pump every 2 hrs kahit madaling araw round the clock. Saka there's no way na kokonti ang milk mo when your baby is 1 mo old. Yung milk natin is more than enough sa tummy ni baby kasi maliit pa tummy niyan. If u really want to ebf, latch your baby.

^^wala makain? why? hindi ka ba nagdidirect feed? direct feeding is the best way to increase your milk supply. And I agree that you have to drop the formula. breastfeeding works on a law of supply and demand. you don't expect your milk supply to increase if you're supplementing with formula and babies normally feel full longer if they're given formula milk because it's harder to digest unlike breastmilk. i don't understand why mo nasabi na walang makakain ang anak mo if you drop the formula  ???  your milk will not increase given that you keep on supplementing with formula.

if you want to successfully breastfeed your baby, you have to do your part also. aside from backreading here in the thread, there are a lot of online references that you can check like kellymom.com and it won't take so much of your time to do a little reading about breastfeeding :)

^^no amount of soups, supplements can boost milk supply as long as there's the presence of formula.

I just recently suffered from clogged milk ducts. I though I was having mastitis, buti na lang hindi natuloy to infection talaga. i even had fever on those 3 days. I just placed hot washcloth on the affected part for 15 minutes, once to thrice a day. And buti na lang off ko so pinalatch ko lang mg pinalatch si baby. Pero grabe ang sakit pala talaga. In addition, humina napupump kong milk, from my usual output of 4-5oz, nagdown to 2-3oz. But I think nagback to normal na.

^ That happened to me as well.  It was really painful.  I had to seek help from someone who does lactation massage.  She was a big help to me.

^ Sis marose, can a lactation consultant still help me?

Eto ang situation ko. I was really decided to breastfeed baby kaso nung inuwi ko na sya, he was having difficulty latching on me. Andun ang lola ko and she made my baby drink the formula kasi gutom na nga daw. So I decided na sige, mixed feeding na lang, I express my milk and give it to him in a bottle. Kaso parang lalong lumala, hindi na sya naglalatch sa akin, nanghihinayang ako sa gatas ko. tapos nawalan pa ako ng yaya so nawalan ako lalo ng time to express and 5 days na akong hindi nakakapagexpress.

If I would have a lactation consultant help me, how much fee would they charge? I still am bothered talaga na up to now.

for those mommies na strictly breast milk lang even from the start, nalagang bow ako sa inyo.  ako kasi parang di ko kaya.  wala pa akong milk and konti pa lang.  after 5 days tsaka ako nagkaron ng konti... after using breast pump.

^no need for water. BM is 90% water :)

^^last time i was in pinas, may mga breastfeeding rooms na ang mga malls like rustan's, SM, greenbelt 5 so you can just go to the breastfeeding rooms if feeding time na.

and breastmilk, or should i say mature milk comes in, at most 5 days. and based on your kwento maybe you didn't let your baby latch right after giving birth is also a factor why inabot ng 5 days rin lumabas ang mature milk mo. baby's tummy is only pea size also so don't expect you'll be getting a lot of milk and we should be realistic with the output we get in pumping. take note also that breastpump output is different from direct feeding...

Since nagstart ako magpa BF kay baby, kanina lang yata siya tumagal ng one hour sa isang breast ko,then nagstop, nung ihihiga ko na umiyak, so next breast naman more than 30minutes kaso yun yung side na nagbleed dati at sumakit na nipple ko natakot akong magbleed nanaman kaya pinastop ko siya, nagiiyak tuloy, kaya sa bottle ko nalang pinainom ng napump ko na milk.. ::)
