Solo Travel (Thread 3)

^ Nakapag solp travel na ko sa Boracay. I joined the pubcrawl. Masaya!! Hahaha I met a lot of new friends whom I still keep in touch with hanggang ngayon.

Okay isolo ang Japan. I've only been to tokyo and very friendly yung city. Not sure about sa provinces though. Although pagbalik ko ng Japan, i'll try Osaka.

^I did Kyoto and Osaka ng solo. Mas na enjoy ko siya, kasi I get to go to placesna trip ko lang, eat whenever I feel like it, and ride all the rides in USJ, thrice for the roller-coaster

I also did Seoul solo (this was my first after I stopped travelling for more than a year), but I did not have fun kasi I was super tired from work(I have a deadline before the trip)and I also went there for a volunteer work. Sobrang pagod ko every night, tulog ako agad. There was a time pa I slept sa tour bus(hop on/off) and wasnt able to tour the city.

I did solo na nagjoin sa group tour na walang kilala, ok naman--this was a local travel. I went to SG solo, ok lang din.

Tbh, I really like being alone, sa office, during lunch, eating dinner. There are times na sumasama naman ako, but often than not,lagi akong solo--mas na eenjoy ko ang food, but I recently went with a friend (we are.not.close) on a trip, na appreciate ko naman kahit papaano na I have someone to lean on to and someone to split the expenses.

I have free plane tickets c/o the hubby, pero sya ayaw magikot & magexplore. Kaya for sure magsosolo travel ako when able. Bahala sya. Sana maabutan ko pa yung London ng PAL! 😁

Sapilitan akong solo travel these next few months lol. Unexpected and overseas. I've gone around some places by myself but this will be the very first time I'll be alone for long stretches of time and in countries where I don't speak the language. Nakakatawa lang kasi gulatan na magisa pala ako.

Did you guys do practice solo trips? Thinking about going on one, just so I can get the feel of it.

Walang nangyayari sa mga plano ko with my usual travel buddies. Medyo naiinis na rin ako mangulit if they want to go. I'm thinking of just going by myself sa kung saan.

sorry sobrang na-curious lang. which countries are these?

i tried solo travel locally. pero ang "solo" travel ko abroad ay mostly dahil nag-eextend ako for personal gala after a business trip, hehe. for example, the company sent me to London for a workshop for 4 days, ayun nag-extend ako 3 days para makagala so mag-isa ko nun. same with Singapore.

pero yun kasi, di na kailangan ng "practice" kasi tourist-friendly (good public transport, English-speaking, etc). nevertheless, even if i'll do solo travel in non-English-speaking countries, i dont think i'll do a practice trip, hehe. as long as well-researched ka, you'll survive. so mas ganung type ng traveler ako, hehe. kanya-kanyang trip lang.

I did these practice solo trips for the first time I went abroad alone haha. Went on a few solo domestic trips para ma-gauge ko mga kaya ko as a solo traveler saka para mej 'di ako baguhan kapag out of the country na. It helped me a lot, yes.

I'm planning to start my solo travel adventure after sa travel namin with my family this november sa cebu. since di daw pinapayagan si gf na makigpagtravel sa akin, hay ewan! might as well try solo backpacking. my prime target talaga is Batanes, hopefully next year.

^^^ sorry sis, medyo superstitious kasi ako so i try not to post details about my booked trips in advance. but i'll share it here after. thanks for sharing your experience

Hi, girls! Okay kaya mag solo travel to Cebu? Nakabili kasi ako ng piso fare ticket sa Air asia for two. Then sadly, nag break kami ni bf (at ex na ngayon). Sayang naman kung hindi ko itutuloy kahit mag-isa ako kasi gustong-gusto ko talaga puntahan yung place. Anyone na nakapag try na to Cebu?

^ Nag-solo travel na ako to Cebu nitong February lang. The city parang Manila lang din hehe. Easy to commute either pa-north/south dahil madaming buses so it's easy to not get lost around. I suggest you push through it. Hindi ka maiinip kasi ang daming pwedeng gawin at puntahan.

Do you guys bring a Swiss Army knife with you, when you travel? Been thinking if I should get one. Nagwuworry lang ako kasi I'm very clumsy, baka ako mismo makalaslas ng bag ko.

^ sis parehas tayo ng worry. may spray din ako before at 'yung balisong na nasa loob ng pen, pero napaka clumsy ko. baka ako makasakit sa sarili ko. lels.

I want to plan a trip alone pero siguro sa malapit na muna sa Manila. I'm planning din sa July since may 4 days leave ako. Punta ako sa Beijing mag isa. Medyo scary lang kase konti lang ang nag sasalita ng English dun.

^just got back from my shanghai and beijing trip last march 31. naku sis don't expect anyone to speak english in beijing halos wala kang makaka usap. siguro yung mga mas bata like 20's or below pwede pero super konti lang alam nila. and sometimes they understand a little pero sagot nila sayo in mandarin pa rin kasi di sila confident mag speak ng english.

yung mga taga airport, receptionist sa hotel lang ang nakausap ko ng may more than 2 sentences. i know how to speak mandarin and i downloaded a dictionary so pag may gusto ako sabihin i use it or show my phone na lang baka mali pronounciation ko iba na agad meaning.

shanghai and beijing are super safe cities. sa subway may xray machine yung entrance para sa mga bags. bawal dun gumawa ng crime kasi bibitayin. corrupt politicians there binibitay mababasa mo na lang sa newspapers na may nabitay. sana dito satin ganon din. hehe!

i suggest to do all your research before going there kasi super helpful. solo travel din ako and im glad nagabsa basa ako lalo na mga do's and don'ts. super time and money saver. also magkakalayo siya so mahabang lakaran bring the most comfy shoes you ever own. closed shoes kasi may mga nag spit pa din sa floor kahit inside subway while waiting for the train. before going there 2-3wks before i-condition mo na sarili mo walk 1-2hrs a day para di ka mabigla. july is hot already summer yun. parang dito sa phils ang weather nasa 30-33 degrees. hindi humid, dry sa kanila kaya hindi malagkit pero maalikabok. my steps per day nasa 19-28,000. grabe sa lakad.

^^ lol i was the same with the spray. worried na worried ako na ma-spray ko sa mukha ko. i think hindi na nga lang ako magdadala. baka din kasi mamrublema pa ako sa boarding/scanning ng bags.
