^ Sis, if you have the time and patience to research about your destination, I suggest mag-DIY ka na lang. You can join a tour naman when you get there. Cheaper pa DIY than packaged, and mas challenging on your part. Sorry to hear about the breakup.

hi ohcmon, how are you doin? natuloy ba yung bacolod trip mo? remember me? i pm you if we can be travel buddy dun. unfortunately di ako natuloy kasi pinadala ako ni bosing sa manila for a few days seminar. pipupostpone ko nalang sa december.

Hi, cussler! Yes, I pushed through my Bacolod trip. Figured something came up sa'yo kaya 'di ka natuloy. Sayang naman.

^hi sis! grabe. ang bata mo pa pala. hihi. buti ka pa maaga nakapagtry ng solo travel. when i was your age (16, younger pa)...ang natry ko lang is to live (partly) independent.

btw, napakasaya ng Davao Trip namin sis! napakamababait at kwela ng mga Davaenos! kaso di ako nakapagsolo travel. good thing, di naman ako iniwan ng mga kasama ko. hahaha. will try to travel solo soon!

@ohcmom, dami mo atang mga long weekend, i envy you. have you been to siargao or davao? ako cdo, iligan and some part of bukidnon na malapit sa cdo pa lang napuntahan ko sa mindanao. maraming mga lugar dun na mgaganda.

Mga sis would you know an affordable tour package? I've been through a break-up just last week and will lose my job very soon. I need a break and whenever i check laging at least 2 travellers ang need. Someone please help me.

why don't you go solo, atleast my time sa sarili mo to be alone. become an adventurer. ask some GTs here who did it already. mas enjoy kasi your free to so whatever comes to your mind. just take good care of yourself.

I love travelling with my friends but i love being solo as well....sarap ng feeling pag wala kang iniisip na baka di nila gusto yong kakainan nyo or baka napapagod na sila hehe.

Backpacking solo in Europe has got to be one of my best experiences ever so I'd highly recommend it.

Hi Ladies, pasali po.

I went on my first solo trip to Langkawi Malaysia. I was craving for the beach and since mahal kung uuwi pa ko ng Phil to go to Boracay, I did some research in the neighboring country of Singapore.

It was a nice experience. was able to meet some nice locals. even the cab drivers were very informative. Tinuturuan pa nila ako ng language nila.

Signed up for a tour group for Island hopping since solo traveller lang ako. Around RM40 may lunch na. puro chinese halos kasama ko. ako lang Filipina.

Then spent some days in the beach hanggang maging negra na ko.

Sabi nga nila, if you want to travel fast, travel solo. if you want to travel far, travel with friends.

Next solo travel ko is probably Australia and Ilocos region.

I really find it cool hearing about those who travel solo. I've never traveled solo but I'm really thinking of going to Korea alone next year. Naaencourage talaga ako sa mga sis dito. Hehe

traveling solo in in south east asia with the exception of singapore is really cheap.

in my 9 weeks of solo travel across Indochina (4 countries ),  siguro mga 80k nagastos ko. I didnt count kasi I was working at the same time online. Ang baon ko lang na pera was about 35k. Hindi ako nagtipid, nag eroplano ako 2 in between countries, nag solo room ako sa saigon for 10 days, at 10 days din sa phnom penh.

Pero kung nag tipid ako, at nag hostel dorm room ako all through out, nag bus from laos to vietnam, hanoi to saigon, I could have saved about 30K pesos more.

50k for 9 weeks is not bad at all. Actually, pwede pang less yan kung mag couchsurfing ka every destination mo. Siguro thats another 10K off for 9 weeks.

Also, maraming places nag aaccept ng volunteers. You work for them in exchange for food and accommodation. My american friend worked for bar resto in Cambodia for couple of hours at night, in exhange of food and accommodation.

went to San Juan, La Union last week for an event and I fell inlove with the place ♥ gusto ko bumalik dun, kahit mag isa lang ako. Madali lang kasi, pag baba ng bus andun na mga resorts.
Mura din din coz 1k RT ng bus Cubao-LU; tapos may mga hostel naman.
Mahaba lang talaga land travel, wala naman ako problem sa ganon except sakit sa ass haha.

it's my first time to travel solo this weekend to Ilocos!

at dahil newbie ako sa solo travel, i kinda made a stupid rookie mistake. when i impulsively booked a flight ticket, i didn't pay for check-in baggage kasi iniisip ko "backpacker-style" tutal 3D/2N lang naman ako. tapos when i was listing my "things to bring", i listed umbrella and tripod, then realized "ay, bawal sa handcarry ito!".

naku mga sis, magkano ba inaabot ang baggage fee during check-in? alam ko mas mahal. waaaahhh! napamahal pa ko. naisip ko lang, yung mga backpackers who don't check in baggage, so they don't bring umbrella? what do you do if it rains? haha, i know it seems like a silly question, pero iniisip ko lang, seryoso nagja-jacket lang ba sila?!

tapos i wanted to bring a tripod kasi syempre mag-isa ko, so gusto ko naman ma-picture-an ang sarili ko. so mukhang i need to check in my baggage nga. tapos di pa kasya ang tripod ko sa backpack ko, so mukhang maleta ang dadalhin ko at hindi backpack. hehe, sorry super lost, first-timer.

^i dont bring umbrella pag nakabackpack lang ako. And i dont have a tripod, lol monopod dinadala ko and lumulusot naman sya sa handcarry ko. If you'll be travelling and walking around super hassle ang may maleta. Ilocos din ang first solo travel ko and yung backpack ko dala ko kahit saan. Haha. Ayoko na kase magiwan ng gamit sa hostel tapos babalikan pa, eh ang IT ko nun was diredirecho --- laoag then pagudpud then direcho vigan tas balik ng laoag. Kaya pagkacheckout ko sa hostel, tour around tapos direcho na sa next destination.

^aaaahhh... lumulusot yung monopod mo... kasi nga ang iniisip ko, whether monopod or tripod eh bawal sa handcarry. yun nga lang, mas madali ilusot ang monopod kaysa tripod.

you don't bring umbrella?! yun na nga rin ang iniisip ko lalo na sa backpackers who literally do not check in their "backpacks", hehe. so iri-risk niyo na lang? di ko yata keri, paranoid much. haha!

^ Ilocos was my first solo travel din. No monopod and umbrella, isang backpack lang talaga. Good thing di umulan during my trip. Same with other sissies, my bag was with me the whole time around. My route then was Pagudpud-Laoag-Vigan by bus lang ako.

Sis meimei, tripods and monopods are allowed na daw sa carryon sa pagkakaalala ko. You may confirm it with your airline.
Re umbrella, you may either bring a raincoat instead or buy an umbrella sa destination mo nlng
Btw, if you really want to bring a checkin baggage, you can still buy at your airline's discounted price by calling them or modifying your booking online..
One last advise for solo travel: pack and travel light.. it will make moving around and planning so much easier

^^Sis, when I backpack I bring raincoat na manipis in case of rain.  Its more appropriate para covered yung backpack ko.
