Baguio City Thread 10

Just got back from Baguio.  Here was our IT:

Day 1
Flight was Ceb-Clark, arrived at Clark around 7PM and rode an airconditioned jeep to SM Clark. fare is 50 pesos.
- SM Clark  (Strolling, bought food, dinner at  Reyes BBQ and Bunjee Jump for the kid)

After SM, we rented a jeepney for 150 pesos and went to Dau Terminal. We rode the Dagupan Bus to Baguio.

Day 2
- 3 AM Arrival in Baguio
- Hotel 45 is fully booked and early check in is not allowed and by the help of some strangers, we we're able to check in at Brentwood Apartelle.

Day 2 (Noon)
- Check out at Brentwood Apartelle
- Check in at Hotel 45
- Lunch at Chicken Savory SM Baguio
- Mines View. Had fun picture taking in Igorot costumes.
- Wrigth Park
- The Mansion
- Botanical Garden
- Dinner at 50's Diner.  Very affordable and we're 8th on the waiting list but we patiently waited outside to dine.
- Christmas Village. Hanggang entrance lang, we did not push thru bec one of my companion is wearing slippers and its not allowed.
-Ukay. I did not enjoy because I had a stomach ache so went back to the hotel and sleep early.

Day 3
- Breakfast sa Hotel. 
- PMA (12noon)
- Late lunch at Sizzling Steak House. I had two servings of Sans Rival.
- Burnham Park
- Went back to Hotel and rest
- Christmas Village. The snow is made of bleaching soap (Perla) and yong kid na kasama namin na disappoint because he was expecting he can make a snowman out of the snow. Maliit ang place pang kids talaga.
- Dinner at Vizco's - this is my fav. I really loved pastas and sweets.  The food was delicious, I tried the famous strawberry shortcake but what I loved the most is the Mango Cake <3
- Ukay.  - I am feeling better this time and its not crowded because it was a Sunday so sobrang enjoy kami sa pamimili.  We're so excited for this and naiwan namin yung take out pizza and cake na hindi namin naubos sa Vizco's. sayang..

Day 4
- Breakfast sa Hotel.
- Maharlika for last round ng pasalubong
- Lunch at SM Baguio
- Travel to Clark around 1:45 PM- 6.5 Hours travel time, umulan sobra ang fog sa daan.
We thought our flight back to Cebu is at 10PM but when we checked back its 8:45PM pala. We arrived just in time and no chance to eat again in Reyes BBQ as planned. We also had a problem with Victory Liner, we paid 454Php each for the fare to Dau instead of 306Php, we just discovered it while chitchatting with one of the passengers. We talked to Victory in Tarlac and he assured we will get a refund in Dau but in Dau, Victory said it will not be refunded anymore. I was really disappointed kasi daming sinasabi ng taga Victory, I just said never mind and we left. Sayang din yon pang terminal fee na sana.

Ang dami naming hindi napuntahan pero sa weather pa lang sobrang happy na namin.. Baguio I will be back!!!

we were in baguio last year for 3 days, dec. 27-29. miss ko na pizza volante, sagada orange & ube jam  genesis joy bus sinakyan namin.

this year, side trip lang (dec. 30), we’ll be coming from sagada. i want to visit camp john hay 
sana may available pang seats sa deluxe bus ng victory liner pagdating namin sa baguio

sis entwife, there were two men in a car outside Hotel 45 bringing print outs of different transient houses/hotels' rates.  They let us chose, they contacted the hotels if there is a room available for us and after several minutes they brought us to Brentwood Apartelle.  They did not asked for anything pero syempre binigyan namin sila ng tip. 

Nagustuhan ko rin ang Strawberry Taho, naka 3 baso ako sa whole stay namin. Hindi na kami nakakain sa Cafe by the Ruins and gusto pa sana ng kasama ko nga kumain ulit sa 50's Diner pero wala nang oras. Sa susunod nlang balik

plan ko na pumunta sa baguio pero hesitant pa din kelangan pa magtodo backread and lakas ng loob. solo traveller sana kasi medyo out of budget daw mga friends ko

^commute lang ba to sis? nong galing kasi kami ng PMA 5pm wala ng pumapasok na taxi don so 1 hour kaming nakatambay don sa waiting shed na nilalamig. buti may hinatid na pasahero kaya nakasakay kami mas ok kung unahin nyo na lang yang camp john jay & PMA

Kapag pumunta ba sa Christmas Village at abutin ng gabi, marami bang masasakyan na taxi?

Mga sis, pahelp naman sa iti namin. We'll be going there january next year.  I've booked citylight hotel in advance.  So far, ok naman mga feedbacks here.  But we'll be bringing 2 of my kids ages 4 and 6.  We got the deluxe room in which you have a choice of 1 queen bed or 2 double beds.  Hindi na ba ako mag add ng payment for them since they'll be sharing the beds with us.  Under construction [textspeak!] site nila kaya hindi ko alam pano ko sila macontact. I messaged them thrubfb pero wala pang reply.  I booked thru agoda btw. TIA!

Usually, pag ganyang age pa lang (6yo below) walang additional bayad if they'll be sharing your bed. Pag nagpa extra bed ka, tsaka lang me bayad.

Thanks sis rocky and bagaholic_chewy.  Yes, commute lang  tamad si hubby mag long drive from manila.  Is better na camp john hay and pma sa morning together with botanical garden, the mansion and wright park?  Then after lunch na lang kami samines view and good shepherd?  Did i miss any attraction pa?

we're not big eaters. hubby and i are full agad kahit sandwiches lang. my kids aren't heacy eaters also (aged 15, 11 & 3) ... how much kaya ang pocket money ko for this trip? settled naman na ang hotels namin... di rin kami mag-shopping. except yung sa Good Shepherd.

saan po may magandang ukay-ukay? have never tried it in Baguio. curious lang i-try. haha!

From Holiday Park hotel, malapit na dun Burnham Park. Unahin niyo na lang yun kasi if hotel-omg-burnham then SM, pabalik balik na kayo nun sis. So hotel-burnham-OMG tapos walking distance na to to SM.


Dec27, suggest lang sis if kaya pa ng oras, walking distance sa 50s diner ang Pink Sisters Chapel. If interested lang kayo. Yung mga sisters na pink ang suot nila though not all the time silang nagaappear.
Hindi ko na rin alam kung ano yung malapit sa hotel pero ang dami ng bagong restaurants sa area na yan.

Dec28
Sa camp john hay, mauuna ang technohub, sa harap lang yun.  Mile hi is a long walk. May mga kainan din dito like Papa Johns, good baby back ribs, and another diner, like 50s diner. Starbucks is walking distance sa na, walking distance na rin ang Batirol.
 
Maganda ang ukay sa skyworld kaso mjo mahal na dun. Yung cheap finds talaga is night market and sa palengke. Yung mga park wala naman entrance fee. Minimal rin lang yung sa bencab and tam awan. Mukhang sa food ka mapapagastos.hehe

Sis pchym, sa city light kayo stay? Masarap breakfast dun. Konting akyat na lang cathedral na,so unahin nyo na to.  Then burnham. Walking distance din to, malayo lang if feel niyo lang magleisure walk, if not taxi na lang.
Doable naman yung iti niyo, basta hindi kayo magtagal sa Burnham kasi kahit pa napakatouristy nun, nakakaaliw talaga ang Burnham.  Ang daming pwedeng gawin.

I agree na PMA and John Hay sa umaga kasi mahirap ang taxi sa mga area na to pag gabi. The rest nasa iisang area lang.

just got back from baguio.. this is my 5th time in baguio and super naenjoy namin ni hubby ang cold weather. Thanks sa mga nagsuggesst ng La Brea, for a budget accomodation is ok na to. Maganda ang location and spacious yung rooms, and best of all walang extra charge ang early check in (pero siyempre need to check kung may avaialable). ang cons nga lang is kung nasa dulong room ka (which is yun ang nakuha namin) ng hina ng wifi, saka medyo creepy yung bathroom (or baka ako lang yun ). Di ko rin pala nabasa na may bar pala dun sa 2nd floor, pero di naman nakakabother sa min kase we are at the 5th floor. If you're on a budget and magtour naman kayo most of the time, I'd recommend the place. Will share my iti later.

For the hotel i recommend "Chalet Baguio" located at the upper session road. Hindi siya budget hotel pero for me worth it yung price. Very elegant and convenient yung rooms (di nga lang spacious), friendly staff, ayos lang yung food.

We've tried Azalea last september, medyo pricey, malaki yung rooms and friendly din yung staff yun nga lang di masyadong comfortable. Walang aircon - kaya medyo nainitan kami. Ang maganda dito may mini kitchen so pwede magluto. Madaming dumadaan na jeepneys so di problem yung transpo. Pero mas recommended ko padin chalet mas nagustuhan namin yung ambiance - relaxing
