Buying Toys For Your Kids

I don't buy a lot of toys for my 8 month old baby. In fact, I plan not to spoil her with toys. The last toy i bought for her was in Christmas 2012 (a Nemo stuff toy). I'd rather spoil her with books and educational DVDs. Currently, she's loving Barney though she easily gets bored watching and end up walking around the house in her walker.

But i have to admit, I fell in love with the kitchen toy set i found in Ikea. She's too young to play with it but I am planning on buying it for her.

I don't plan on buying a lot of toys too, of the toys i have given, i've given a lot of thought and research. I veer away from electronic toys and we don't let our daughter watch tv, at most downloded youtube disney videos. I look for educational toys that can be played with over and over again as she grows older.

She was gifted the find-a-shoe octopus and it's an interesting toy, teaches fine motor skills, colors and numbers not something i would have bought so i'm pleasantly surprised
