Padre Pio Devotees - Thread 3

Hi mga sissies!

This is my first time to pray a Novena to St. Padre Pio. I'm currently here in Baguio City but will be going down next week to Manila and the first I'm going to do is visit St. Padre Pio in Libis. Parang pinagtagpo talaga because I need to go to my old school na malapit sa church to St. Padre Pio to get my record. Then sakto nabasa ko ito and found out na malapit din pala church si St. Pio sa old school ko.

Just want to ask, san part mo ba sabihin yung petition mo? Normally aksi sa ibang novena they would insert yung "(Mention your petition)" or malalaman mo pag dun na sabihin yung petition pag may "....."

For this one kasi wala. For example itong Introductory Prayer:

Come to me as Father and friend, Jesus, and do not leave me alone. Lord, abide with me!
I am just a pilgrim wandering in a world enveloped by darkness; bestow on me your light and your grace. Lord, abide with me!
In this precious moment, embrace me; let this union between us last forever. Lord, abide with me!
Accompany me along life’s journey; I need your presence. Without you I become faint and fall. Lord, abide with me!
Evening is coming and I am racing like a river towards the deep sea of death. Lord, abide with me!
Be my strength in sorrow and in happiness, while I live and until I die within your embrace. Lord, abide with me!


San ba dyan? May nabasa ako dito na yung isang sis sinasabi nya petition nya before sya mag start ng novena. Is that really how it works? Sabihin mo muna petition mo before mo pray yung Introductory prayer and yung pray mo for Day 1 to Day 9?

Sis, as I know it, you begin the novena each day with this prayer:

Prayer to St. Pio

O God, You gave Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, Capuchin priest, the great privilege of participating in a unique way in the passion of Your Son, grant me through his intercession the grace of.... which I ardently desire; and above all grant me the grace of living in conformity with the death of Jesus, to arrive at the glory of the resurrection.

Glory be to the Father.... (three times)

Mga sis, pwede ba magdala ng pet sa compound? Di naman for "walk" or pasyal yung purpose ko for my dog. Actually, isa sya sa mga petitions ko. He has kidney problems kasi... Dun lang sya sa may parking, if ever.

Sis, there are signs there which say that pets are not allowed, but I see some people bringing dogs naman when they hear mass. But they stay outside the chapel, and they usually carry the dogs or have a leash.  I'm sure they'll understand especially if you are praying for your pet's healing.  I really hope your dog gets well.

very thankful again to St. Pio for 2 answered prayers. one for my successful tatt session (safe and pain-free session) last weekend, and the second one was, my son made it to class honor roll again. thank you very much St. Pio for always being there for me and my son.

Mga sis sorry newbie lang. Nakita ko tong thread na to and from hopeless bigla akong naging hopeful (hindi ko pa natapos basahin lahat dahil ang dami from previous thread). Gusto ko sanang malaman anongexact novena yung ginagawa nyo I mean yung prayer. And is it for 9 consecutive days or 9 consecutive weeks? Sobrang need ko lang mga sis sana may maka help. ^ sis, yung sa akin binili ko sa St Pio Center yung 9-days novena. i'm not sure if available yung prayers dun sa handbook sa online site. i pray it for 9 consecutive days. if hindi pa rin answered yung prayers ko in those 9 days, inuulit ko yung novena for another 9 days. from experience, naging effective naman sa akin and my petition was granted. hope this helps.

When I feel like I am losing my patience, I always pray to St. Pio and in a matter of seconds, ok na ako. Sana grant na rin yung matagal ko ng petition.

Sis baka pwedeng pasend naman sakin yung exact prayer kasi I'm not from Manila. Okay lang ba sis kahit sa bahay lang mag novena or dapat sa church?

Another question pala mga sis (since I can't post a new topic). Okay lang ba na you pray/novena to different saints din kasabay ng kay Padre Pio? Hindi ko kasi kayang mamila sa mga saints na pinaniniwalaan ko like kay Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Padre Pio, Our Lady of Manaoag and St. Clare of Assisi.

@sweet_chloe --  Sis, mukang mahirap i-copy paste dito 9-days novena na galing sa booklet kasi mahaba yun.  Iba-ba ang prayers for each day, plus the other prayers pa na kasama like the prayer to Pope John Paul II.   Backread ka na lang may pinost akong links to some sites na meron ding novena to Padre Pio, hindi nga lang yung same as that in the booklet.  I think as long as you pray fervently, from the heart, kahit anong novena ang dasalin mo, kahit nasa bahay lang, pakikinggan ka.  And I also think na ok din to pray to different saints.  They're there to intercede for us dba?

sis sweet_chloe, agree with sis manhattanite. i think there is a link dito sa thread to the novena prayers to St. Pio. mahaba kasi sis yung novena on each of the 9-days.

as to your question about praying to the other saints, i think ok lang naman. it is also nice to include Mama Mary in your prayers. i remember praying for a personal petition in the past - nagdasal ako kay St. Pio at kay St. Claire, sinamahan ko pa ng prayers sa Mother of Perpetual Help.

Ako din, I'm looking forward na makasimba na ulit kame after I gave birth...sa kanya ko pa naman sinunod yung 2nd name ng anak ko...sobrang salamat, dahil tinulungan nya kame ni baby all the way...hindi rin ako nakapag simba nung birthday namen ni Padre Pio...sayang..

Will have a quick visit to Batangas tom hoping na matapos lahat ng errands so we could drop by pa ni hubby sa Padre Pio Shrine. I am feel so peaceful and calm pag nasa shrine kami, thankful din sa mga blessings na dumarating.

miss ko na yung padre pio church sa libis..tagal ko an rin hindi nakakadalaw do..sana one of these days mabigyan ako ng time and chance to visit there

hopefully i'll be able to do again my regular visits to padre pio once ma-assign ako ulit sa eastwood (hopefully late july or early august). will try to bring my guy kasi nacu-curious din sya kay padre pio after i told him of the many answered prayers i've had. i hope he'll also be a devotee of padre pio.

Been to st pio mga 5 times na pero hindi ko alam pano ba magpa annoint ng holy oil?

^ sis, usually the annointing of holy oil happens after the 12noon and 7pm sunday mass. i'm not sure if may annointing after the daily 5pm mass.

We attend mass in Padre Pio chapel in Libis almost every Sunday. Very solemn ang mass. I admit, hindi ako pala-simba this past few years pero nung nag-simba kami dito nung start of the year (Jan 5), naiyak talaga ako while saying my prayers. Ganun din nangyari sa friend ko. Kaya lagi na kami dito nagsi-simba kahit medyo malayo sa Pasig.

And just last June, I had 2 answered prayers.
