I'll be traveling alone with my two kids (2&3) bale 24 hour flight kasama 1 hour lay over. Mababait naman kids ko never throw tantrums anywhere and every time we go out. Sana din maging cooperative sila with our journey. I packed some of their favorite books and toys. I chose afternoon flight kase they nap in the afternoon. I plan to bring my own snack like cheerios and fish crackers. My son also drink nido kase allergy sha sa fresh milk so may baon din akong 1 small can of nido. I wont bring stroller and car seat hassle lang sa tingin ko kase hinde mahilig sumakay sa stroller mga anak ko. Since 1 hour lang lay over ko sa hong kong i think its time for them to walk around and not ride in a stroller after 19 hours in a plane. After an hour another 3 hours i guess sa plane again. So I decided not to bring stroller na lang.

^Good luck sis. Kaya mo yan. Pwedeng wag na magdala ng stroller. Meron din naman sa mga airports just in case you'll decide to use one. And 1 hour lay over is short naman. Baka palipat lang kayo nyan ng terminal. So kayang kaya mo yan :)

^ sis, have you considered babywearing? Baka lang makatulong, like in case tulog yung 1 kid mo sa airport (before departure, during transit, etc), at least you can carry him/her and still have your hands free for your things and for your other kid..

@katyap - I suggest that you bring a lightweight stroller for your baby. That said, ingat din and make sure na you keep an eye out for baby even while he is in the stroller and never let her out of your sight!

@hakunamatata & @harleyporky - back read sa thread na ito, including yung First Flight ni Baby thread. Marami kayong makukuhang tips at useful details doon! Ang masasabi ko lang, kahit anong age, pwedeng i-travel si baby, as long as may passport/documents na sya at prepared kayo ahead of time sa mga posibleng kailanganin ni baby sa flight at sa pagtour/pag stay ninyo overseas.

Sis yung 2 yr old ko 38lbs and yung 3 yr old ko is 48lbs kaya malabo ako makapag baby bjorn.
(Growth spurt)

^ actually sis, di yata advisable talaga ang Baby Bjorn kahit for smaller babies kasi naka-dangle ang legs, di sya naka-M position. Uncomfortable sya after some time, not just for baby but also for the wearer.. There are other carriers that can carry up to 45-50lbs (up to 4years old). Like Ergo/Boba/Tula/Beco, etc. suitable for toddlers.

Anyway, that was just a thought. Sometimes kasi, their sleep patterns get messed up during travels so I anticipated lang na what-if tulog or something, hehe..

Do let us know how it goes and share tips of what worked for you as well. :)

Kung going to a beach resort lang, I don't mind bringing baby along.

Pero kung island hopping mismo, I personally wouldn't bring my baby along. First, hindi sya safe - unless of course kung luxury yacht ang sasakyan namin at may shade, may comfortable area for my son to play, to stand, rest or take a nap. During that time kasi hindi pa naglalakad si baby, so most of the time karga lang sya or naka upo - so kung yung normal motorized bangka lang ang pang island hopping, I don't think it will be comfortable (or even safe) for my baby. Besides, I don't know how he will handle sea sickness and it might be too late to change my mind and go back to the hotel/resort (without spoiling everyone's mood) kung biglang hindi okay pala si baby. Add to that, masyado pang delicate ang skin ni baby para mababad sa sun - even those reflected sa dagat.

Naisip ko - I doubt kung maeenjoy ni baby yung island hopping; I don't see what value my child will get from it at his age; saka nalang pag malaki na sya, mas maeenjoy pa nya yung scenery and experience.

Thanks for the insight. Okay scrap Coron. Yun nga din sabi ng Hubby ko, kung Boracay where everything is in the island lang and you can easily go back to the hotel when baby becomes sleepy eh okay lang.

At 1 year and 4 months ba okay na mag disneyland ang baby? Im really scared to travel because my baby doesn't sleep well on the go. 30 minutes lang whenever we are out eh pag sa crib niya he takes 2 hour naps.

Has anyone requested a tub or clean cooking wear for sterilising bottles during travels abroad?  I just got my baby's passport, and I will be bringing my yaya with me.

Kaya lang mabait lang yaya ko pero she is no expert so I still have to do my own research sa ganito.  I want to ask nga the hotel we plan to stay in kung ano pwdeng pahiram.

Also, do you leave your yaya sa hotel at night so she can sleep?

I dont think you can do it yourself. Like putting the baby in a carrier without the help of other. I dont think its a good idea, well for me.
If ever sleep sila gigisingin ko hehe or nag tantrums kakalungin ko na lang kesa mag ask pa ko help kung kaninkanino just to put the baby at the carrier. For me its hassle.
And also pwede kaya sha or sila iupo sa luggage cart like pag nag grocery ka? If not then mag walk sila.
Backpack kase dala ko and one long champ for their food. Kaya i guess pede din ako mag kalong sa bunso if ever sleep sha.

You can check the hotel if they have electric kettle, you can use that for sterilizing the bottles. Or if not I think there are disposable bottles available that you can buy. In that case you don't need to worry about sterilizing bottles.

May nabibiling microwave sterilizer bag. Uun ginagamit ko pag out of town kami. Pagkalinis ko bottles lagay ko sha sa bag then microwave ko sila for a few minutes.

Not all the hotels have microwave available in the rooms. Unless you're staying at a serviced apartment type place o kaya a suite, baka walang microwave available so your best option is the kettle.

I've travelled abroad with my child with and without the yaya. Pag kasama si yaya, we usually either get a room for her na joined sa room namin, but oftentimes we get a suite with two rooms or we request for a spare bed for her and she sleeps sa living room ng suite.

Depende sa activity but we ask her to join us sometimes, minsan we give her money and show her kung saan yung pwedeng puntahan or shopping area para makapag-gala sya on her own, and she has a spare key to the room. At night depende sa plans namin, we either ask her to have dinner first  or order room service for her and then we go for our own plans - sometimes kasama si baby, sometimes iwan sila ni yaya sa room.

Sis snowflakes, yup I can put baby in a carrier on my own. Used pouch, SaYa, meitai, woven wrap, SSCs. :) it takes practice and confidence para baby won't feel Mom's anxiety. So relaxed din sya while being put in a carrier..

Some moms can even do a back-carry using a woven wrap on their own. Di ko pa carry yun, papraktisin ko pa, hehe..
