Thanks again sis caren! :-) will look into that. How about yung neostrata ultra smooting cream 10 AHA? Kita ko may online seller eh hehe.

Hi sis, sorry for the late reply! Neostrata is a good brand for AHAs. You just have to find the right formulation that works for you :)

Started my second tube of stieva-a 0.025 percent yesterday.  So far my face is cleared now.  Just need to get rid of uneven spots. I've read somewhere online that mixing bha or aha when you're using tret lessens the trets effect, so i use my bha product in the morning and tret at night..

Been backreading and i am confused. Pwede ba siya for the underyes? Im starting to have fine lines na kasi and no cream works for me. Yung iba kasi sabi pwede uung iba no-no daw..

What are other tips for first time users aside from using the lowest percentage and should i use moisturizer first then tret or tret first then moisturizer?

Gonna bacread some more for the meantime

^ Some people can tolerate it on the undereyes. Some people can't. Since it causes dry skin, it's very likely that the skin on the undereye will look really really crepe-y. That's why iba iba yung answers. If you're willing to take the risk, go ahead. I suggest you buffer with a moisturizer first. and apply the thinnest amount you possibly can.

Iba-iba din yung answers on whether you put a moisturize before or after. Experiment. Do whatever works for you. Just space it out. Around 20 minutes after you put either of the two. So that both has time to settle in.

I use an AHA Serum - La Roche Posay Effaclar Serum. Hindi pwede sa akin ang cream. It gives me small irritation bumps all over. Was using Obagi din a few years back pero it was too irritating for me, sensitive kasi talaga skin ko, lalo na ngayon, for some reason.

And yes, you're not supposed to use HQ for longer than three months at a time, dito parang deadma ang dermas, gusto nila continuous use. Although mas mabilis talaga effect niya compared to AHAs, I feel mas permanent ang result ng AHA on the skin, with HQ kasi there are cases of rebound pigmentation when you stop using, pero case to case basis lang naman.

sis same lang ba ang La Roche Posay Effaclar Serum sa La Roche Posay Effaclar Renewal Fluid? Thanks!  :)

Hi ladies,

Been trying to backread but couldn't seem to find my answer. I'm currently using 0.05% for several months already. If I switch to another brand, should I start from the lowest concentration again or can I just get into 0.05% of the new brand?

Can someone also confirm, in the US, there are no OTC tretinoin meds right? I might visit the US soon, I might run out of my tretinoin. Would customs hold me if bring like 2-3 tubes of Tret? :(

Hi Featherduster, there's no need to go down. BUT note that the base carrier will be different. Depending on the brand, it may cause tretinoin to be dispensed slower, or faster, so your skin might react differently even if the concentration of tretinoin is the same.

My aunt buys tretinoin here and brings around 3 to 5 tubes of tretinoin, and ok naman.

Not familiar with the renewal fluid, but the effaclar serum comes with a dropper and is a thin, clear gel.

Thanks dear! :) I'll keep that in mind. Probably the best solution is to just buy loads of tret from my derm then bring it to the US. I've been wanting to buy tret from the drugstore as it is more accessible and hygienic (my derm houses them in tubs kasi eh), i prefer sana tubes, so I'm thinking of switching. But as you said, it might cause a different reaction to my skin :(

^ Minsan din kasi, yung base carrier, iba iba din ng feel sa skin. Like yung Retin-A, meron syang slip and parang di sya naaabsorb, unlike Stieva A na parang moisturizer na na-aabsorb ang feel.

Mas ok sana yung naka-tube para mas matagal ang shelf-life. Pwede mo i-store sa ref. Also merong tsismis somewhere in this thread or the past ones na may derm daw na ni-rerepackage lang yung stieva a into a tub/pot.

I stopped using it under my eyes because of the excessive flaking... but 2 months after I stopped I started developing millia. :/

Other than the cream cleanser I have and water-based moisturizer, nothing else touches the area, di na naexfoliate. I'm using it on my undereyes every other day at the moment.

Mga sis ano mas ok Retin-A gel or Tretinoin cream?
Meron kasi sa olx / sulit na online seller ng retin-a gel, acretin tret and differin. Mas mura sya

I don't know which one to choose. Ang nabasa ko is Gel is for oily type and acne prone tama ba?
Cream is for normal to dry skin and more on anti aging sya. Baka harsh po ang gel noh?

^ It depends which carrier will work well for you.

I'm oily and I use the cream version. Your skin gets drier din.

With gel, parang mas mabalis ma-release yung active sa skin, it could be more irritating. Pero pwede ding hindi.

Personally, I wouldn't buy from online sellers kasi di mo alam yung storage conditions nila, kung naka-ref ba sya, etc.

^ Tanong mo na din kung merong nakalagay na expiry date or manufacture date. Kasi baka matagal na yan.

Have you tried Retacnyl? Which one's better kaya - Stieva A or Retacnyl? Na-tetempt nako to switch to tubes talaga..

Hi featherduster! I've tried Retin A, Stieva A, Retacnyl, Airol, and Derm A. My most repurchased is Stieva A. Unfortunately, parang relative sya, and you'll only know once you try them. In past threads, some reported experiencing milia/ milia-like bumps with Stieva A. I like it because it feels like it's sinking in and doesn't leave a slippy residue. Both Retin A and Retacnyl has that slippy feel. Maybe because of isopropyl myristate.

Try typing in stieva and/or retacnyl in the search field to make it easier to back track :)

Sis, andami sa Amazon or some other online stores. Bumibili ako ng retin-A ko sa Walgreens. I think meron din sa CVS. I heard it can only be purchased by prescription pero nakabili naman ako ng walang prescription lalo na sa Walgreens. Depende siguro sa branch?not sure..try online na alng kung di ka payagan or better else, why not consult a derma and ask for prescription ng retin-a.
