^ I'm 22, I've been using tret for 8 months. Stevia-A (?) brand, 1%. I still get the occasional acne here and there and I'm also suffering from a major flare-up at the moment (finals week). I used it before on my lids, it was a disaster. I used it on my under-eyes for 6 months till I noticed that the I started getting more wrinkles on my under-eyes! Yikes!

Icepick scars don't disappear when using tret, it merely makes skin regenerate quickly thus immediately shedding old skin, thus preventing pimples from growing and pores from getting clogged.

My purging stage lasted for 3 month and another more 2 for my skin to get completely accustomed to the tret (na wala nang major peeling.)

^hindi pang eyelids ang tretinoin sis! and never ever put it into the sides of your nose. youre gonna destroy your eyes and your nose dahil manipis ang skin in those area.  :o

im using tretinoin again and since iba na ang skin type ko: dry skin na, alternate days ko nalang nilalagay. ang ginagawa ko ipaghahalo ko ang equal moisturizer and tretinoin together saka ko ilalagay sa clean face na moisturized na skin. super doble moisturizer ang ginagawa ko :)

effective and i love my skin more now!

oshiawase - you'll purge if you have something to purge underneath. it's most likely purging if the pimple appears on areas that you usually get them. otherwise, that's irritation.

it will be hard to tell if tretinoin is causing that. esp if you're really acne-prone. there could be a multitude of reasons like lack of sleep, stress, eating inflammation inducing food (eg dairy, milk products, and legumes), and hormonal imbalance. there's also no common purging period duration. it's different for everyone, unfortunately.

momentum - it's always safe to start with the lowest percentage. medyo mahal sya but a little goes a long way. mga 2 rice grain size lang, ok na for the whole face. and it can last you ng mga 6 months.

on undereye lines - the skin in that area is very thin. and this product can cause dryness. dryness can make the wrinkles and fine lines appear worse. but my skin is not prone to dryness and i've developed tolerance to tret. i've been using it one cm away from the perimeters of the eyes (on the lids, undereye, and crows feet areas) kasi gumagapang naman sya. no problems so far. but in general, this not advised.

on pores - it will not help significantly with the size. but it will clear them out, so, somehow, it will look slightly better.

share ko lang experience ko with tret. inapply ko siya for 2 days sa wrist ko and wala naman adverse reaction. tapos sa face ko na i apply nakaka 2days palang ako bigla namula face ko tapos sobrang kati..lalo namula after 3days parang nasunog.. nagpacheck up ako at me allergy raw ako sa tret..hindi ako makalabas ng bahay ngayon dahil ang itsura niya parang one hour after pixel pulang pula minus the grid marks..

Thank you so much sis rae

Nako, mukang Tret is not for me kasi I have dry skin ever since I started taking ocp, as in kahit mababad ako sa araw and I wipe or feel my face esp nose area, walang bakas ng oil.

Baka kung mag Tret ako mas magiging dry pa skin ko :-(

I never use hydroquinone for longer than 3 months at a time. Kahit anong sabi ng derma, I've read about the side effects and I am quite wary of them. I've also noticed that local derms are quite careless with these things, so long as it gives the instant satisfaction of clearer-looking and glowing skin. I've also learned na you don't need to use HQ consistently to get that glow. My skin is actually healthier and more glowing now that I've stopped using HQ and just using AHA products and moisturizers with my tret.

Hi sis, i'm also thinking of using AHA/BHA, how do you use it with your tret? :)

my derm upped the percent of my tret to .10% na. so far minimal peeling and no purging at all, also i paired it up with obagi nuderm clear and blender which helps to lighten spots and whiten my face. 2 weeks into obagi and .10 na tret so far so good wala naman ako spots i just want to whiten my face since medyo pinkish sya now white na sya. forever na ko magtret kahit minsan nagpepeel kinis naman ng face after months of using it, no hormonal pimps na during that time of the month, also never as in never na ko nagka blackheads at whiteheads :)

I don't want to use any moisturizer 'coz I have oily skin. Alam kong kailangan din mag-moisturize kahit oily skin. But I'm using tret right now and it makes my skin dry. Is physiogel okay for oily skin? How much is this?

@gppb24, since RDL has hydroquinone, you'll probably get the even skin tone you're looking for. It will be hydroquinone doing the work for that :)

It depends on which physiogel moisturizer you'll use. The cream-type one is a lot heavier than the lotion. But if you'll only be using the moisturizer at night, it won't matter if you'll look oily. Also, consider switching to a non-drying cleanser like Physiogel, Cetaphil, or cream cleansers (like those from VMV)

^^ Thanks sis rae. :) Another question. Can tret help to get rid of blackheads on nose? I use iwhite korea nose pack to remove my blackheads but when I remove it, still nandun pa rin yung blackheads. Ang natatanggal nya lang ay yung white heads. :(

I use obagi clear and blender together with my tret .1 %. mabilis magpalight at puti ang hydroquinone 3 weeks ko pang gamit puti na ng mkha at neck ko hehe. pero yah i will use this for only 3 months then pahinga ng 2 months then use it again it's not advisable na tuloy tuloy ang gamit pero if you are suffering from spots and discolorations pwede  sya i called obagi last week and kung ok naman skin mo no amjor discolorations you can use it every 2 days nalang for maintenance. tret and hydroquinone works hand in hand to even and lighten my complexion till now nagbabalat padin ako but then micropeeling lang and mooiturizer lang wala na pero the pores superlinis i don't even have a single bump on my face right now tee hee!( also blackheads whiteheads and milia wala kahit isa so i think tret is effective for those concern.)

Sis ask ko lang okay parin ba mag Tret even if dry skin?
what do you think is best? i-halo/sabay ko siya sa day and night moisturizer ko nalang para hindi drying?

I remember the derma from Asian Hospital told me na Tret will only try to make our skin stay the age we started using it, as years pass by.
kumbaga kung 29 ako ngayon, it will help my skin be at 29yo parin habang tumatanda ako with continuous use. kung I started at 35yo, it will try to make my skin remain at 35yo as years pass, hindi yung gagawin niyang 20+yo skin ko.  tama ba ito mga sis?  ;D
