@ KittiEKittiE
Purchased the Blender not at Belo but at HOO for P4950 iirc. I purchase my products from the latter and have my facials done at Belo. Re belo's acne kit, the Blender counterpart would be the Tyrosinase inhibitor cream I think. There is definitely something in the Obagi as I have used a straight 4% HQ product before with not so convincing results. PS - I'm a guy by the way  ;)

oops, you're a dude pala sorry hehe I'm just curious lang dun sa obagi blender. I'm very much satisfied naman sa belo modified acne kit as in kuminis na face ko and no more pimples at nagfade na blemishes ko (even those old ones). So if I may ask, ano yung complete regimen mo na ngayon? Just Retin-A and the obagi blender? I'm planning to stop na rin the modified kit as soon as maubos na yung DLC tretinoin ko. I've been repurchasing the PM, CHAT and the tyrosinase inhibitor lang ang tipid kasi gamitin ng tret.

My regimen looks something like this:

AM: Foaming gel
<Vitamin C serum>
Shiseido sunblock
PM: Foaming gel
Blender plus Retin-A

^It's a very toned down regimen but I find that works better for me. I don't use the entire Obagi regimen. I made a post on the Obagi thread a while back on how it's not imperative to use the whole system to get good results. If Belo were to package the DLC in a tube, then it would be perfect for me.

^ I was able to find your post. Planning to buy that kaso ang taas ng HQ content nya, 4%? Di ba its not advisable to use HQ for a long eriod of time. Though yung sa modified kit na gamit ko may HQ din but in lower concentration naman. but planning to stop na rin.

Yun lang di maganda sa DLC, sana nga nasa tube na lang, i'm using a tiny spatula pa for that. But kung effectiveness lang din, winner talaga.

@ KittiEKittiE

You def. don't want to go lower than 4% HQ. Studies show that 4% is the gold standard w/ the combined use of tretinoin. I would even use HQ twice a day if I can, beacuse the effects are two-fold. They say you should use HQ in 3-month cycles and alternate with a different pigment inhibitor (i.e. kojic acid). Personally though, I have yet to take a continuous break from HQ as I find I lose the 'glow'. As long as you are monitored by your derm, prolonged use should not be an issue.

^ My bad, hindi pala in lower concentration yung sa kit na gamit ko. I was looking at the percentage of Tretinoin in DLC which is 0.05% :p Well, the HQ I'm pertaining to is yung sa CHAT and nakaindicate is 2%, not sure though kung its 2% overall Clindamycin, HQ, Alum and Tretinoin.

I'll do my research din, but I appreciate your reply :)

^ A little bit off-topic: sometimes I alternate CHAT 2% with maxi-peel #4 (.025% tret 4% hydroquinone, available sa counter, not on the shelves)

i cant find maxipeel #4 sa shelves, so i bought yung RDL astringent (0.020% tret and 4% HQ)

dra. martires adviced me to apply yung acne solution nya ( 0.05% tret + erythromycin accdg to her assistant) 2-3 times a week.

i apply vit. C serum or physiogel moisturizer in between those days para di super dry/super peel yung face ko

now, i plan to use RDL 2-3 times a week, then vit.C serum/physiogel/acne solution in between those days (acne solution if i want to peel more)

Hello newbie and a Tret user here :)
3 years ago my derma prescribed me RA cream for my millia, I didn't know what it was and I just found it's Tret pala. I only used it for a month and I had 3 sessions of Diamond Peel so the effect was phenomenal! I was getting compliments on my skin, then come 2nd month I started breaking out! Huge zits especially on my forehead. Anyways I didn't go back to same derma kasi mukha siya pera and kung ano ano binibigay niya meds I didn't have acne naman just millias. And she didn't even explain what retinoic acid does, had I known about the purging stage I would have continued.

Anyways Feb this year I started using it again when I noticed how well it's working on a friend who has major major acne problem. We researched on it and I found that it helps the skin to replenish collagen faster (or something like that) and that's what I'm most interested in.  I stopped using it 2 weeks before we went to the beach and started using it again just last week. Every other day lang, I'm peeling like crazy but I love how it makes my cheeks glow! I'm using Derm A 0.025%. Will also recommend to my mother!

Honeybunny, you won't find it on the shelves. You need to ask for it from the counter. 4% is prescription strength, but you don't need to get prescription to get it.

I never use hydroquinone for longer than 3 months at a time. Kahit anong sabi ng derma, I've read about the side effects and I am quite wary of them. I've also noticed that local derms are quite careless with these things, so long as it gives the instant satisfaction of clearer-looking and glowing skin. I've also learned na you don't need to use HQ consistently to get that glow. My skin is actually healthier and more glowing now that I've stopped using HQ and just using AHA products and moisturizers with my tret.

^ I notice that too with derms here. Everything I learned about tretinoin, hydroquinone, AHAs, etc., I've learned from online articles written by dermatologists and cosmetic chemists.

When I was prescribed with a skin care program consisting of topical antibiotics, tretinoin, hydroquinone, wala man lang explanation or whatnot.

Sun protection was mentioned but not emphasized enough. And resting from hydroquinone was not mentioned.

If I hadn't read about it beforehand, I wouldn't have known.

^haay sinabi mo. Most people go blindly about the regimens prescribed by dermatologist. Yang sunscreen use issue mga 5 years ago lang nag-start mag-emphasize ang mga local derms. I remember when I started using tret before, sa set ng derma, walang sunblock! I asked the derma about it and she said it can feel heavy on oily skin and wasn't really necessary! Kaloka diba?

Another derma I had was an ex-girlfriend of my ninong who was then around 65 years old at the time. They went to the same university and was roughly the same age. My ninong was pure Spanish and my derma was mestiza. My ninong looked his age at the time, people often teased him that he looked 10 years older (generally because caucasians tend to age faster than asians), but my derma could pass for 90! She gave me Obagi Foaming Gel, a Retinoic Acid Solution with Clindamycin as my skincare regimen against acne. I asked for a sunblock and she said it wasn't necessary, again because it can make my skin feel oilier daw. Her RA solution was so effective, I brought my sister to her. My sister was concerned because she looked really old for her age and she said I shouldn't be trusting my skin to someone who wasn't able to tale care of theirs well enough. We switched derms a little while after. At the time kasi I was looking for older dermatologist na hindi "glutathized", as younger dermatologists tend to be.

Currently, I'm using a lot of products from Clarins, kasundo kasi ng skin ko and their toner is alcohol free and doesn't dry me out. I use their gentle foaming cleanser, iris toner, multi-active day and night creams and their age control oil.

I've been using this regimen regularly since November. Every 2 nights, I just use the cleanser and my derma's erythromicin solution then Stieva 0.1% cream. I also always have La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (Euro Version) which I use when I'm breaking out, I use that with Physiogel AI to prevent me from drying out and I alternate LRP with DDF 10% Glycolic Toning Complex. Pero when my skin is "normal", I just use clarins. I feel na mas better behaved ang skin ko when it's properly moisturized and without too many actives. Note that I just use clarins since it suits my skin. I also alternate with likas papaya + olay TE regimen. Yan lang mga kasundo ng skin ko. I also have my derma's creams pero I use when necessary lang. Constant peeling isn't healthy for me. If you're acne prone, you can't stick to a single regimen, it always has to be evolving with whatever your current skin condition is, at least, that's how it is for me.

Clarins interests me, actually.

Right now, I'm using Dove soap, Physiogel AI pa din, that's it. Ive been saying I'm going to stick to Tret
pero mga ilang gamit lang nakakalimutan ko na. I have a huge Steva 0.025% tube pa.

I want glowy skin. I read somewhere Clarins skincare daw is phenomenal. But I don't know where to start.

^Medyo off topic tayo dit Chel pero if you have very senstitve skin, try mo yung gentle line nila: gentle foaming cleanser, gentle day and night cream. My best friend uses that and she has very sensitive skin. Ang galing din ng Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate pag may mga allergic reaction.

As for your tret, hindi naman necessary na daily use, lalo na if your skin is very sensitive and you don't need it for acne. Once every three days should provide you enoungh benefits of tret. Basta wag lang lalampas ng 3 days without it, kasi ang effect ng tret only lasts while you use it, and that's the maximum time you can go without it.

I decided to go down from 0.05% to 0.025%

My skin is pretty clear now and I'm using it for maintainance and anti-aging purposes na lang. Figured I can do away with less irritation and dryness.

I've been using Physiogel AI Cream with my Tret regimen. Wondering if the AI Lotion is the same as the cream?
