I've been on retin-a for 5 months now. So far so good, until 2 weeks ago, bumabalik yung small bumps sa forehead ko and chin. I hate it. Can i use clindamycin toner before applying tret?

^ I used to do that. It was my prescription before.

^^ Please check the previous pages. :) You may also use the search button, use "tretinoin prices" or something similar as your search term :)

^ it's not mainly for removing pimple marks.

It can help because it makes the skin cell turnover faster but it can also exacerbate the pimple marks (if you purge and get even more pimples)

Most derms prescribe this more as pimple prevention and prescribe something else for the pimple marks e.g., products with hydroquinone, for hyperpigmentation, microdermabrasion for scars, laser resurfacing, etc.

^ It's not for spot treatment and for treating pimples that already erupted. It's more for prevention.

For spot treatment, you can use benzoyl peroxide (panoxyl), salicylic acid, zinc oxide creams, tea tree oil, and those specifically marketed as spot treatment porducts. :)

My I know what is the name of product? How long can I use tret for my face? I'm using rdl #3 and my face is now better than before. The label said rdl can only use for 2 mos. I'm just confused if after 2 mos I will stop rdl and will not use in entire year. When can I use this again? Thanks for replying me.  :D

Hi Nikita, the name of which product? :)

Anyway, after you're done with RDL, continue with using a Tretinoin cream. Derm A, available at Watsons, is only around Php250. It's on the shelf, not over-the-counter.

The reason why you need to stop RDL is because of the hydroquinone content, not the tretinoin. Sayang if you stop tretinoin, kaya I really suggest you continue and use tret without hydroquinone .

Anyway, if you want toner type pa din, merong toner ang Derm A, with 0.01% tretinoin. :)

^ what cosmetic chemists and dermatologists say as the gold standard of whitening ingredients. :)

Though you can't use it continuously for more than 2 months. Not really sure why coz I dont regularly use it and I never found the interest to find out why.

^^ as far as i know, pwede magkaroon ng melasma or pigmentation kapag nasobrahan ng pag gamit sa hydroquinone specially kapag naaarawan yung gumagamit. the skin becomes more sensitive. right now i'm using tret also lumalabas mga whiteheads ko pero natutuyo din sila agad at nawawala. ayaw ko ng hydroquinone gumamit ako before maxipeel tapos di ko na inulit. grabe nilabas niya lahat ng pimples ko

so kapag beginner ka pa lang you just use it every other night? tapos every night na to gagamitin pag tagal??? Gusto ko kasi to i-try eh. pero confused ako kung kelan siya gagamitin.

And totoo bang it makes your pores smaller?? I've read somewhere kasi that retin-a has made his pores smaller.

^ the frequency will largely depend on how your skin is tolerating it. Some of the really sensitive ones can only do it once a week, in the beginning. Some are so sensitive that they cant tolerate it at all.

In the long-term, the frequency will depend on what you're using it for. If you're using it for acne, and your acne was pretty bad, you might need to use it everyday. If you're using it to prevent premature aging, maybe 2x or 3x a week is enough.

Listen to your skin.

Also, for now, I think you should take things one step at a time. Some get overwhelmed with tretinoin questions at first and later on find out that they cant commit to it or that they cant follow-through the initial purging, irritation, and dryness.

If you're able to stick to it for 3 months, by then you'll be able to assess how your skin is and decide what frequency and strength you'll stick to.

On the pores issue, the reviews are split. Some reported even more obvious pores, some said it didnt change, and some said their pores are less visible now.

In my case, I cant tell. The change wasn't signicant enough for me to assess if my pores stayed the same size or if it's smaller now.

Hello. I would like to have this regime.  Maxi peel #1. Then after 2 months, rest. After that gusto kong mag derm a tret. Pero di ko alam kung ilang percent siya for starters. At kung tuloy tuloy ba siyang gamitin? Thanks.

There's 2 watsons store Im sure na meron, their smaller store at MOA and at megamall. Tapos nasa shelf lang sya not at their drugstore.
