Can a passport be renewed even though it's still valid for 17 more months? I'm planning on studying for a year outside the country and the program i think requires a passport that's valid for 18 months.

Question pala, do i need to fill out an application form for baby beforehand? O dun na ako mag-provide ng info sa encoder?

Sa experience ko sis, yung encoder na ang nag-fill ng application form based sa info sa birth certificate. Tapos ipina-double check na lang sa akin.

I think, yes. Prerogative mo naman if you want to renew it earlier.

Sino nakatry dito gumamit ng travel document instead na passport? Malapit na travel date ko pero wala pa yung passport. Tinawagan ko embassy at sabi nila wala daw problema, apply nalang daw ako ng travel document sa kanila. One day processing lang daw, may konting bayad. First time ko po nakarinig about travel document gamitin instead passport. May nakaexperienced na po ba nito?

Not me personally but my Mom nung nawala nya passport nya when she was in the US. The Phil. Embassy in SFO issued her a travel document na ginamit nya to exit the US and enter the Philippines.

Pinakuha ko ng passport yung sis ko para sa anak ko, dumaan sila ng agency. Naprocess naman daw, narelease...sa kasawiang palad, nahold-up daw yung agent na me dalang passport...so considered lost na yun. Hindi ko lang matandaan kung kelan yun nagyari.

Ngayon, plan ko ikuha ng passport ulit ang anak ko, since kinasal ako last January at napalitan din ang last name ng anak ko..ano ano ang proseso at additional docs para dun...new passport ba yun or lost passport?

^di ba sis dapat cargo nila yung pagprocess ng application of lost but valid passport kase nawala yung document sa kanila. employee parin naman nila yung nakawala kahit na accident ang nangyari.

for the lost but valid passport, you need the following:
all the requirements for a new application +
notarized affidavit of loss explaining when, where saka how your passport got lost
police report

OPTIONAL - photocopy of the passport's first page (kaya lang on your case hindi mo man nakita yung mismong passport)
may 15-working day clearing period  ito

pati anak mo iba na apelido? need mo yung anotated na birth cert niya na may change of last name
