^sis I'm so scared of that scenario. We are 6 yrs together and I don't see a wedding happening soon pa eh. Has something to do with career path and finances. We are just both happy of what we have now. But of course we're not getting any younger and I'm so scared na kung hindi pala kami in the end eh I'm old na.

This year magiging 35 na rin ako and still single for 7 years. nagka bf ako 3 years ago but for 2 weeks lang kaya hindi counted.

Although on a positive note, at least hindi kayo kinasal nung nangyari yang hiwalayan.

I can totally relate with you sis. Exactly the same thoughts. From an almost 12 year relationship, engaged to be married, planado na lahat sa buhay mo and all tapos mauuwi din pala sa wala. Ang masaklap pa i was 37 years old already then, and imagine yung takot ko na mag isa forever. ( im 39 now and havent found the one) . Madami pa ding tanong sa isip ko kung bakit nangyari lahat, sana nangyari na lang nung bata bata pa ko, how will i start again at this age etc etc.  Mga friends ko halos lahat married and with kids na. Turning 40 soon, desperate? Oo in a way, hindi ko kasi na foresee ang sarili ko to grow old alone. I always want to have a family. Pero hindi ako naghahanap,  i leave it all up to HIM, i have faith na kung may inalis siya sa buhay ko meron siyang ibibigay na mas magandang kapalit.

sis rasee16, i tried. tried really hard baka nga kase phase lang baka kase pwede pa ayusin pero wala na talaga. siya na kusa bumitiw. mahirap at napaka sakit sa simula pero kailangan tanggapin. its been a year pa lang na wala kami. sayang oo. pero wala na ko magagawa kundi nya na ako mahal.

sis shopaholic_in_rehab, grabe noh? yung tipong sobrang himbing ng tulog mo tapos paggising mo wala na pala. sabi ko nga sana it happened when I was younger para naman fair chance in love. kase paglalaki madali lang makahanap tayong girls hindi. saklap db? though im not searching for now. gusto ko muna buuin yung sarili ko kase sobrang wasak na wasak ako. yung hindi mo alam paano at saan ka magsisimula. daming tanong pero at the end of the day ikaw din makakasagot. though I still have single friends pero I feel so lost when it happened. Its been a year so sabi ko nga Im giving myself 2 years. 2 years lang siguro pwede na yun. not 2 yrs kasi hoping ako na maayos pa pero 2 years to be totally healed sa pain and everything.
also, ano pala ginawa mo sa engagement ring mo? ako kase I tried ibalik kaso di tinanggap. nasa house lang at di ko alam ano gagawin ko. ibebenta ko ba siya o ikeep?

@ rasee, I have a friend, she's only 26. BF nya 38, separated with 3 kids. So ever since ayoko sa guy for her. But the guy is mabait and caring. Pero point ko focus ng guy is retirement while my Friend still wants a wedding and kids and all. So sabi ko anong ginagawa nyo 2 years na kayo. They're just enjoying each other's company. Pero sakin kasi both of them are just wasting time and effort kasi wala naman silang future na pinag uusapan. Yung time na supposedly nagd date Friend ko and socialising to meet 'the Best one' for her eh di nya nagagawa kasi she is spending time with this guy.  So just recently, they broke up. Sad but at the same time she is excited to meet and find her guy.

@ shopaholic_in_rehab and najine - wala ba kayong indications with your long time BFs na Hindi sila para sa inyo? I'm just asking. Baka magka age kayo at di pa sila mature?

Just asking kasi minsan God has His ways of intervening. Mine naman nauwi nga sa kasal, laki pa gastos sa wedding, hiwalay din in the end. Gastos pa ulit sa annulment. So it might be for the best kaya di kayo nagkatuluyan.

Im quoting again my past post some 4 years ago...

Sa ibang countries (not Pinas), 50s and up may nagd-date pa nga.  So it can never be too late for us.  When I was younger, I have only known one man who became my bf and hubby. Marriage did not work out.

But some of the things I have learned -
1) never be desperate
It is only now at 40 that I started dating - it's been 9 months, dated 5 men, turned down dates as well from other men - yes, it is raining men out here.  kaya dont be desperate.

2) I have psyched myself to grow old alone, kaya kung hindi ok ang date, drop him. I can live without a man kesa live with a man from hell.

3) pinaka importante parin to be financially independent. kahit ano pang mangyari, no one will help you but yourself.

4) mas matindi ang criteria ko this time around. sabi nga ng iba, di ba dapat mas mababaw na ang mga criteria ko in meeting guys. no way!  dapat mas maging critical nga tayo because we cannot afford to mess up our lives at this point. mas konti nalang years natin tapos sisirain pa ng kung sino lang?

5) never fail to take care of yourself. it pays.

Wow, a thread for me. Haha.
Currently engaged but part of me still miss the single life. Dunno maybe Im not with the right guy?  :o
Siguro pressured din kasi Im no spring chicken and got flattered that someone still want to marry me, haha... However some people are saying Ive had my fill of singlehood. Its about time I give marriage a shot, maybe theyre right, maybe not. Who knows?

Pareho tayo sis nataliaesperon,

Im happy din with my family kaya I really enjoyed my singlehood. But dont let your worries get the best of you. Pray lagi and Im sure di ka pababayaan ni God. When a person starts to feel negative about their lives, they start to be desperate then mostly makes the wrong decision.

If you have really decided to settle down with someone, try expanding your network, baka dun mo makikala si "the one"  :)

sis Girltalker2, My bf is 3 years younger than me. If there's any indication I dont know. im not sure all I know is Im too blinded to see. Its not our 1st break up since we got together. we tried then but this time he chose to leave. At first, I became desperate to win him back but eventually na accept ko na din. matagal na process nga lang pero importante I got there.

this year i had 3 dates with 3 different guys. puro first dates. after that hindi na nila ako tinawagan. while during the date naman super ok kame nag uusap.

after a series of first dates and never getting a call back medyo na hurt na ang self esteem ko. then recently date no. 4 happened. this time wala na akong paki alam. nakaka 3 fails na ako kaya wala na talaga akong ine-expect na magandang outcome. it just so happen na i will be at a certain place for a meeting then afterwards pupuntahan niya na lang ako. he was consistently texting me for a week kaya when we met it didn't feel awkward. tsaka in my mind i have nothing to lose. if this is another failure i will survive it. choz!

hindi ako naka ayos sa date na ito, dito ako pinaka di nag prepare. polo shirt (may butas butas pa) at pants lang suot ko, with shoes covering my toes kasi di ako nakapag pedicure. hindi rin pala ako nakapag dala ng matinong bag so yung shonget na body bag na nahanap ko sa car lang ang dinala ko. at this point i didn't care na talaga. compared to my usual first date outfits na gabi pa lang iniisip ko na outfits at bag and shoes that will go with it. and my hair and makeup na may wow factor talaga. lelz.

anyway to cut the story short, 9hours long yung date namin. ayaw pa umuwi e super sakit na ng tiyan ko na je-jebs nako at 2am na need ko na matulog dahil usually 10pm tulog nako. the next day he kept texting na miss niya na daw ako at he really likes me daw. he also asked me when he can see me again.  sana soon daw. i don't want to jinx anything kasi bago pa lang but i guess things happen for a reason. baka kaya di nako tinawagan nung mga iba kasi i was meant to get to know date no. 4. and in his eyes i'm perfect coz he said so. kahit may butas yung damit ko di niya napansin, ako rin di ko alam na butas pala e.

kaya advice ko lang, let's keep meeting new people. sometimes nakakapagod na pero part siguro yun. not all love story will be the same. may na me-meet na nila agad, meron naman kailangan mo pang madaming makilala bago mo makita yung talagang para sa iyo.
