Nako ilang years pa, malapit na ate ko rito. Wala ata siya balak magasawa. Haay! Gusto ko ng pamngkin from her eh hehe... Haha! Ill keep praying for her to change her mind. hehe! Sana magbago isip niya. :)

Minsan kasi it is best to be single kesa makahanap ng sakit sa ulo (tamad, babaero, nags smoke, financially unstable, sugarol, lasenggo). Di nalang bale.

Your Missing Rib
http://shawnmckenzie.net/your-missing-rib/

What do you look for in a spouse?

Are you the kind of person whose main focus is glued on to what’s on the outside? (the outer appearance/looks/physique) or are you the kind of person who cares what is on the inside? (the heart, relationship with Jesus, Spirit-guided actions).

Being true to yourself saves you from disappointments.

How many of you can honestly say that you told God who you wanted and gave Him a huge wish list of positive adjectives that explicitly described your future wife or husband? Some of you may have shared your dream man or woman with a friend. As embarrassing as it may seem, some of us have even created our dream spouse from romantic movies.

I will be the first to admit it. I gave God a list and shared my ideal kind of woman to my group of friends. It was silly of me to do, but as I matured in Christ, I have realized that is not how God works. I have learned that God gives you who you need, not who you “think” you want because you are not wise enough to know your need. Therefore, as a result, you become irritable, frustrated, and angry with God because you have not met the person that you expected Him to give you as an answer to your prayers. I love this quote…

“Love doesn’t always come packaged the way you expect. Don’t throw out the right person just because they came in what you thought was the wrong box.” -Pastor YPJ

The quote speaks volumes! This quote comes from, or I should say, is determined by a person’s daily walk with Christ. I want to break down four points that I believe will better help you to understand the difference between a “want vs. need.”

1. What we want

Ladies are delicate emotional creatures. That is how God designed them to be; they are fragile. As a child, they are raised and taught to be a lady of good quality if they wanted a man to sweep them from their feet. Some had a childhood of practicing early marriage ceremonies, being the wife/mom as they play house, and directing life scenarios with their dolls. Many enjoy the Soap Operas, romantic tales, and movies (The NoteBook). All of the princess happily-ever-after stories can influence their expectation of what the perfect man would be like.

Girls are building their own imaginary prince charming from what those romantic stories have taught them. They create a man in their imagination, adding and choosing the parts that are appealing to them. So now, their mind is filled with a false ideal man who they will never meet because that man does not exist! It is hard for some women to accept a good man with pure intentions when the man she meets is not packaged the way she imagined him to be.

The same for men. They are visual creatures though. The romantic novels, movies, and shows do not suit them well. Some admire to have a woman with the physical looks of a Victoria Secret model paired with the practical skills and heart of their mother. That woman does not exist! We are constantly disappointed because of unmet expectations.

2. God desires for us

God does not put two perfect people together because neither would be of help or beneficial for one another. God gives you your other half (your missing rib). In Genesis 2:17-25 the Lord saw it was not good for man to be alone, so He made a helper suitable for him. While Adam was asleep, the Lord took one of the Adam’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of Adam, and He brought her (Eve) to Adam. The two of them were one flesh together. She had Adam’s rib, and Adam’s rib was inside of her.

3. God will give you what is yours

There are many of you who are lacking something in your life, because you are missing your rib. And the rib you are missing has the qualities you lack such as organization skills, time management, spiritual growth, study skills, leadership skills, and the list continues. God will join the qualities you have in your rib and the qualities in their rib so that you both can come together to make a good fit.

4. There is hope

Each person has their strengths and weaknesses; that is God’s way of allowing both partners (one man and one woman) to play a role in a marriage that compliments each other. Remember, God has your life already planned out. All you have to do is to continue to keep your eyes on Him. (see. Jeremiah 29:11 & Matthew 6:33)

Anyway agree ako we always deserve better so why settle for less. Before i got married naman nakuha ko gusto ko before makapagasawa.

My own mom even insulted me  for being single at 38. Kesyo daw Iam mainitin ulo because Iam still single. Walang kinalaman yun pagiging mainitin ko ng ulo sa pagiging single ko. 5 years old pa lang ako, mainitin na ulo ko,as Iam on a maintenance ( hypothyroidism) kaya alam ng mga tao na may hypothyroid yan! Nasa characteristic yan ng may hypo.

Ayoko naman ng may asawa nga, like my ate, pero.. MASAYA NGA BA SIYA?!  Left and right ang sakit sa ulo! Ugali ng asawa, ng in laws.. Thanks, BUT NO THANKS!!:)  laging nag hihinaing sa pakikisama sa pamilya ng asawa niya.

reply lang based on thread title...

Meron akong co-worker mag 60 na sya at wala pang nagging bf(ata).

As a guy di ko masabing panget sya.

The reason being(which I think is worth the life spent) nagtrabaho para sa kinabukasan ng mga kapatid at pamangkin.

...I do wish God / Allah reward them greatly with their next life.

I have a friend na 38 na, she just broke up from her bf of 5 yrs. mukhang happy naman sya sa buhay nya.

I'm a few months shy of being age 35, 2 years na kong single and since nagging single ako dami na good things nangyari sa akin which I don't think would be possible if may BF ako.

Sabi ko nga dito nalang siguro ako maghahanap sa UAE (not literally look for a partner) pero my chances are better here. At times namimiss ko magka BF yung may kausap sa gabi, may ka-date pero sa age ko mahirap humanap esp dito sa work. either my colleagues are way younger than I am or way older naman. Those in my age group are mostly married, kahit pa muslim ang religion at allowed ang two wives ayoko naman ng ganun para sa sarili ko.

Good things come to those who wait, yan ang mantra ko. Pag naiingit ako dun sa isa kong kasama (kasi galante suitor nya) I just tell myself, its her "prime" time, she's "bankable" because she has the youth and she doesn't look intimidating. whereas sa age ko and position sa company, medyo scary for single colleagues to approach me.

Kapit bisig mga ka age group  ;D

Have you considered dating a foreigner/non-filipino guy?
How about dating a single dad or a divorced man?

Have you tried signing up to online dating sites?

About fertility, need na ba mag pa-check ng hormones for reproductive health if pregnancy is still safe/possible? And knowing this can also affect your decisions/future.

For ages 35 and up, feeling ko tama lang din naman Magong choosy.

@sis lovely_carrot, ok din iyan na may criteria ka. Bata ka parin naman pag tutuusin;). Tsaka syempre in your 30s, ayaw mo din naman mag BF for the sake. You've survived breakups/heartaches in the past, ano ba naman maging single di ba mas better kesa sakit sa ulo yung guy.

Mas mataas chances if you will open your options to foreigners, single dads/divorced guy.

I really hate to say this, but having been there, pag foreigners kasi, mas open minded sila kesa sa pinoy. At least the foreigners we meet at work or who travel outside of their own countries, mas malawak pag iisip nila.

Secondly, if you're considering a divorcee or single dad, highly likely mas maayos papeles nila, or if not pa ayos, Mas madali ayusin.kesa sa pinas na puro hiwalay but legally married parin or sometimes di mo alam totoong married pa pala.

Have you tried signing up to online dating sites?

No, I still prefer pakilala or at least someone you know knows him. Iba na ang panahon ngayon.

Always be at your best, be it sa physical appearance, attitude, or pananamit etc. Tapos make known to people that you're single. I'm sure meron at meron lalapit.

This is very subjective. If one really wants to have kids, maybe this is an important consideration.

it's okay to be single at 35, but please don't be a hypocrite lang. i know someone here in our workplace na single but always say they are choosy, ayaw ng sakit ng ulo etc. but really feels insecure towards going-steady couples, always bragging that being single is better, even if no one is asking her.

if you love being single, embrace it. no need to be defensive. enjoy and finds ways to improve yourself, so when the right man comes, you're worth the wait.
