Sis Priceless, THANK YOU! My point exactly. I actually suggested her to do the same kaso ayaw paawat. Puro mga claims, wala namang scientific evidence. The ingredients she rattled off one by one are not only used in making vaccines but in food preparations as well. And like you said, most are naturally occuring pa.

Sis Allura, thank you for yet another interesting post. To answer your questions.. YES. I would gladly have my son vaccinated with those things if it means I can protect him from diseases. Now please answer mine because I am dying to know.. pag ba nakagat ng aso or nakaapak ng pako baby mo or magkaron ng measles or mumps outbreak sa lugar ninyo or sa school kung san siya magaaral, hindi mo siya papa-vaccine? Yun lang, thank you.

Brand switching is not allowed for PCV since the 2 brands differ in the the # of strains and in the adjuvant or carrier vaccine used. There may be a problem with antibody production later on.
However, let's say, for the 1st dose: Synflorix was used then the 2nd dose, Prevenar was used, then for the 3rd dose, it is recommended that you stick with Prevenar since it has a higher number of strains.

No problem regarding which thigh (right or left) is used as long as the administration technique is followed, such as intramuscular, subcutaneous, etc.

Where can I get my child's immunization records? Nawala na kasi yung baby book niya. Can I get it from the hospital? Or kailangan sa doctor talaga na nag immunize sa kanya?

^sis sa pedia ni baby 3900 yung 5in1 at 2600 naman yung rota. yan ang next vaccines niya pagbalik namin sa january yung rota eh oral daw pala yun sis..

hi Doc lelet, ano pong mangyayari pag nagpa vaccine si baby ng PCV ng meron siyang ubo pero wala naman phlegm. kasi po nung schedule ni baby mag pa PCV shot nagkataong di naman nauubo si baby, kaya di ko majustify na may ubo nga siya, pero pag nasa house nauubo siya na parang Makati lalamunan nya. E-effect po ba yung shot kahit may ubo ? thanks po

Sa pedia ko sa Fe Del Mundo : 3500 ang 5in1, 2500 sa rota. Depende kasi yan sa doctor. Di ko sure kung anong meron sa health center eh.

If there are no other associated symptoms (fever lang talaga), it may still be related to the PCV kahit 4 days since time of vaccination. Sa post marketing surveys, there were reports of high grade fever associated with PCV vaccination 18 days after time of vaccination.
Pero I suggest that you inform your pedia about this para malaman kung talagang PCV ang nagcause ng fever and hindi infection.

You have to go back to your pedia and ask for a list of the immunizations given.

PCV 13 and PCV 10 not only differ in the number of strains included in the vaccine but also in the carrier/adjuvant vaccine. PCV 13 is conjugated to a diphtheria protein while PCV 10 is conjugated to a non-typeable h. influenza.
Based on recent studies, halos comparable ang protection na naibibigay ng 2 PCV kasi kahit na 10 strains lang ang nasa PCV 10, may cross protection naman itong binibigay sa 2 strains that are not included.
I suggest you discuss this with your pedia so that your concerns may be addressed properly.
Please also try to backread since this has been discussed in several vaccination threads.

The vaccine will still take effect even if your child had a mild cough during the time of vaccination. Mild cough is not a contraindication to vaccination.

thank you doc lelet. actually third pedia na po kayo na pinagtanungan ko. tanging si pedia ni baby ang nagsabing hindi na associated sa pcv if after 4 days nagfever. hindi po ako convinced sa sinabi niya kasi hindi naman po nagubo/sipon si baby. panatag na loob kong normal nangyari kay baby..

No, hindi na pwedeng habulin ang rotavirus vaccination for your baby since she/he is past the maximum age limit (14 weeks and 7 days) for the 1st dose of rotavirus vaccine. As I said before, very strict ang age recommendations for the rotavirus vaccine because of previous associations with intussusception.

^ A child who was not vaccinated with the rotavirus vaccine has more chances of getting rotavirus induced diarrhea compared to a vaccinated child. However, if you are exclusively breastfeeding, even if you didn't have your baby vaccinated with the rotavirus vaccine, she/he will have some protection due to antibodies passed on by breastfeeding. This is why some pedias treat the rotavirus vaccine as optional in purely breastfed babies.
