^good morning medyo ok na si baby today. may kaunting sinat pa pero i give him tempra every 4 hrs as per his pedias advice. back to normal na rin iyak niya unlike yesterday na parang in pain talaga. medyo mahina pa rin appetite niya. no choice but to pump my milk na lang kasi napupuno breast ko. thanks for the concern.

Curious lang po, someone advised me na sa center ko na daw ipa vaccine baby ko same din naman daw pero sabi naman ng MIL ko kulang daw dosage sa mga center.. totoo po ba yun?

Sorry to hear about your dad. Did he receive any vaccinations recently prior to contracting GBS? Vaccine related GBS usually occurs within a few weeks from the onset of symptoms. It will help you trace the cause kasi if you know what vaccines were given to him recently.
Viral and bacterial infections are the most common causes of GBS.
Unfortunately, boosters are needed to ensure adequate protection to the disease. If hindi naibigay ang tamang number of doses ng vaccine, there is a chance that he is not fully protected, which means he may still get the disease, although it may be in a milder form compared to a person who has not been vaccinated.
At what age did he get his first dose of PCV?
Perhaps it would be better if you have a talk with your pedia para malaman kung anong pwedeng gawin regarding your son's case.

Hindi naman kulang ang dosage ng vaccines sa local health center pero hindi complete ang mga vaccines that they offer since they follow the WHO expanded program of immunization so last vaccine given is the Measles vaccine at 9 months of age.

If they gave Pentact-hib, then it contains Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, H. Influenza type B and inactivated polio vaccine.

Si baby ko who is turning 4 months this April 16 just got vaccinated for 5-in-1 second dose medyo nagkasinat that night pero ok na kinabukasan. Second vaccine nya is 6-in-1 and isasabay na rin ang rotavirus sabi ng pedia nya ang rota hanggang 5-6 months lang daw puwede ibigay kay Baby.

I'm really confused... nagpapa-vaccine kasi kami ng son ko sa pedia ng eldest ko but the pay is too much for us right now. he was born dec. tapos na siya ng bcg (the day he was born Dec. 9, 2012, hep b1 (dec. 12, 2012) and b2 (jan. 12, 2013) and pentaxim 1 last feb. 9. naka-sched. siya dapat last april 9 but we told the pedia that we will try to get from the health center coz we can no longer afford the 3K fee for the next pentaxim 2.

when we contacted the health center, sabi nila what they have is pentahib and masyado na daw late si baby for the next vaccine because he is 4 months na.. we're really confused what will happen pag dinala na namin siya sa health center, just wanna make sure na tama ang ibibigay na next vaccine sa kanya.

what would be your advice that should be his next vaccine..?? do we really need to buy for pentaxim2 or let my son's pedia na lang to give the vaccine for them. sobrang mahal kasi kaya talagang mahirap. I had to resign from my job kasi no one will take care of my baby as well as my eldest although 12 na naman siya, syempre di naman pwedeng iwan pa sa kanya my 4 month old baby. worry ko pa lagpas na kami sa 2 months after ng next dose ng pentaxim 2. hay hirap talga at nakakalito.

Magkaiba ba talaga ang price nung 1st shot nung PCV kesa sa 2nd dose? Kasi I remember we paid 3500 sa first dose, tapos kahapon we paid 4,500.

What vaccine was given to your baby?
For what to do, please contact your pedia since you may need to bring in your baby for check up.

Clarify ko lang, did the local health center say they will not give the vaccine to your baby kasi 4 months of age na siya or dahil pentact hib ang gamit nila at hindi pentaxim?
Your baby is not yet late for the 2nd dose of the pentaxim vaccine since we really usually give it at 4 months of age. Mas mabilis lang kasi ang scheduling sa health center kaya late na para sa schedule nila.
Anyway, whether late or not, pwede pa rin naman ito ibigay. That is called catch up immunization.
Pentaxim and pentact hib are 2 different brands of the 5 in 1 vaccine. Ideally, if you start with one brand, there should be no brand switching para walang problems with antibody production unless there really is no choice but to give another brand (ex. nadiscontinue na ang previous brand, etc. ).
Maybe you can go back to your pedia and ask her for other options...

Price should be the same unless brand was changed or there was a sudden price increase.
Anyway, the best person to ask would be your pedia since she was the one who gave the vaccine.

hello po... ask ko lang po same lang po ba yung pattern ng vaccination sa ibang clinic? i mean parehas ng sequence? like after measles ano next? plan ko po kasi lumipat ng pedia mag inquire sana ako ano next sa measles at how much malayo kasi sa place namin yung pedia. E sa baby book ko hindi na nalagay ano next na vaccine

hindi naman sinabi na hindi ibibigay kasi parang hindi naman yun yung nag-aadminister ng vaccine yung kausap ng hubby sa phone (wala kasi akong landline kaya siya tumatawag). nag-worry lang din sila kasi nga sinabi namin na pentaxin 1 yung unang binigay at naka=sched. for 4 motnhs for the no. 2. siguro hindi lang din niya alam. ok thanks doc, we might visit muna our pedia first to ask for options since hib nga ang available sa health center.
papa-monitor ko na din weight and length ni baby kasi parng pumayat siya,  papa-update na rin ako

hi doc lelet, kakainject lang po kay baby ng penta. Hindi pa naman sya lagnat, hopefully hindi talaga. Pero feeling ko masakit yun hita nya dahil sa vaccine, cold or hot compress po ba yun? May possibility kaya na magka fever sya? Thanks po

Hi doc leletmd, ask ko lang po if ok lang na magkaibang brand yung 1st dosage ng PCV sa succeeding dosages nya? 4500 kasi yung pcv sa previous pedia ng baby ko. Eh i have a sibling din na physician kaya pwede sya mag administer ng vaccine. Kaso lang, wala pa sya broad knowledge sa vaccines kasi he just passed the board exam last year and mag-residency pa lang sya (sorry OT).

Anyway, may mabibilihan daw kasi sya na murang vaccine (like half ng price sa pedia). Kaya lang, di nya sure kung anong brand ang ok. Di na kasi ako nakatawag dun sa previous pedia. Ang nakalagay lang sa baby book, PCV-10. Di namin alam kung anong brand ang dapat bilhin.

hi sissies and doc leletmd,  ask ko lang po, ano ba sa tingin nyo ok, yung hiwahiwalay na vaccine o yung mga bago ngayon na 6in1, 5in1. kasi nung galing kami kay pedia, kami daw bahala kung ano gusto namin. basta sabi nya kasi advantage nung 5in1 or 6in1 e isang turukan lang daw kay baby pero mas ok naman daw pag pure lang.. naguguluhan tuloy ako lalo na dami pala ng vaccines na kelangan.. e ang mom ko naman di familiar sa 5in1, 6in1 na yan kasi nung panahon daw namin e wala ganun every month daw talaga ang injection namin nung bata. sa price naman, sabi e 700 daw yung hepa b2 (next vaccine ni baby), tapos yung 5in1 daw 2,500. sa mommies na nakapagpavaccine na ano pinili nyo? at ano [textspeak!] pedia nyo regarding dun ano daw advisable? salamat.

PS. sa monday na sched nya kaya sana po makapagreply kayo to help me decide. thanks in advance po!

^ sis personal opinion ko lang, mas ok ang 5 in 1  or 6 in 1 kasi nga isang turukan lang, unlike ng hiwa-hiwalay. itanong mo din kung magkano gastos pag isang shot vs. the seperate ones. para mas makatulong sa decision mo.

hindi talaga familiar ang mga mas nakatatanda sa atin dyan sa mga shots na yan. kahit kasi para sa chicken pox dati eh hinahayaan lang natin na maexperience kasi maiimmune naman after. pero as my pedia said, hindi kasi lahat ng bata eh simple ang reaction sa chicken pox, he showed me a book full of pics ng mga nagkachicken pox na malala and other viral infections na posible sanang naiwasan kung navaccinate sana. iba na rin kasi ang panahon ngayon, nageevolve ultimo viruses at bacteria. para sa akin lang, hindi na pwede ang katwiran na "noon naman ganio lang..." kasi iba na talaga ang panahon ngayon. we should research our options and discuss this with our doctors.
