Si baby Tylie kasi hindi pa nabigyan ng vaccine, she was born feb. 2 this year. Na nicu sya kaya hindi nabigyan ng vaccine.
And how much ba kapag sa pedia o hospital nagpavaccine?

I think your pedia would be the best person to answer when the best time is to bring your baby out of the country. It would depend kasi on a lot of other factors such as the current health status of your baby, the immunization schedule in the country you will be transferring to, your family history (health risks for baby based on the common illnesses in your baby), etc. If you will be staying abroad for a long period of time, it would be best to continue his vaccination there.

Your baby has partial protection to Hepatitis B at this point and the risk of getting infected with it is lesser compared to those who did not receive vaccination.

There are a lot of differences between health center vaccination and the vaccines given at the pedia or private clinic. Health centers kasi follow the WHO expanded program of immunization so up to Measles vaccine lang ang binibigay nila while private doctors follow the Philippine pediatric society schedule of immunization so up to 4 to 6 years of age ang schedule of immunization and mas maraming vaccines ang included. Magka-iba din ang brand na ginagamit sa health center and sa private clinics since the vaccines at the health center are provided by the DOH kaya pwede nilang ibigay na free of charge while private doctors order their vaccines from vaccine suppliers.
As to cost, it would be best to ask your pedia.
How long was your baby in the NICU? Hindi ba siya binigyan ng BCG and hepatitis B vaccine 1st dose prior to discharge from the hospital? At 2 weeks of age, yan palang naman ang required vaccines niya.

doc, magkaibang brand ng hepA po yung ibinigay kay baby.  napansin ko nung nasa bahay na.  nakita ko yung idinikit na sticker.  iba yung brand sa 1st dose sa 2nd dose.  okay lang kaya yun?

ganun po pala yun doc lelet. Si baby po, nagstay sa nicu for 5 days, due to abo incompatibility and jaundice. Sabi po ng pedia nya, hindi na po navaccine si baby kasi hindi na sya macocover ng philhealth and one more thing, 33-34 weeks lang po si tylie nung pinanganak ko. Sa tingin ko naman po na mas maganda na [textspeak!] na sa pedia nya kami magpavaccine para matutukan sya ng mabuti. Feb.2 po birthday nya, and sa feb.22 pa ang first vaccine nya, ok lang po ba yun?
Dami po kasi ko worries dahil premature si baby. Thanks po.

Allowed ang brand switching with regards to Hepatitis A and B vaccines since konting konti lang ang difference between the different brands available. There are studies which show very little difference with regards to immune response in cases wherein brand switching was done.

No problem if the vaccines will be given at Feb 22 as long as it is given.
Since premature si baby, I think it would be better if she will be under the care of her pedia with regards to immunizations and check ups.

Very strict ang age limit recommendations sa rotavirus vaccine.
First dose should be given between 6 weeks to 14 weeks and 6 days, not later than that. While last dose should be given before the baby turns 8 months of age.

hi doc lelet! question lang po, my son is due for varicella last jan but he got sick almost the whole month (measles, upper respiratory tract infection, diarrhea), now naggamot naman po kami for ameba naman. so medyo nadelay ang pagbigay ng varicella vaccine. his pedia suggested na if ever maging okay na si baby finally we can opt to have him vaccinated with mmr-v para makahabol. when i backread, i saw your post na delikado if MMR-V will be given as first dose since there was reported incident of seizure, bigla nman po ako natakot. if ever po ba very late na po siya for varicella or pwede pa naman kami makahabol? naisip ko po kasi will tell his pedia na varicella na lang muna para sa safe side lang kami. also, after varicella ano na po ang mga vaccines and age na dapat po niya iyon matanggap? salamat po!

andito po kame sa UAE, hindi ko po sure kung parehass yung mga vaccines/vaccines sched dito sa atin. at birth po e bcg at hepa B ang vaccine ni baby ngayon po e 5 weeks na sya at sa 2nd month nya sched namin para sa 2nd dose ng hepa B, dtap, hib, polio at pneumococcal, balak na rin po namin isabay [textspeak!] rotavirus,ask ko lang po kung meron pang ibang vaccine na need si baby, [textspeak!] meningoccocal, hpv, typhoid at influenza kase nasa optional list lang po, mas ok ba kung pati yun e ipapagawa namin?

There is no deadline for varicella vaccination so hindi pa siya late and pwede pa ito ihabol. Even adults can get vaccinated with the varicella vaccine. Ask na lang your pedia if it is ok with her na varicella na muna for this month then sunod na lang ang mmr sa next month.
The ACIP recommendation to just give separate vaccines for MMR and varicella instead of the MMRV was based on post licensure surveillance studies which showed that there's an increased risk of febrile seizures for the 1st dose of MMRV but not during the 2nd dose so no problem with giving the MMRV as 2nd dose at 4 to 6 years of age. Hindi naman lahat magkaka-febrile seizure. May risk lang and hard to predict kung sino ang magkaka-febrile seizure, unless there is a family history of seizure and a previous episode of febrile seizure sa patient.

Technically, the rotavirus vaccine is already part of the PPS recommended schedule of immunization and is, thus, not considered an optional vaccine, but there are doctors like me who opt not to give the rotavirus vaccine to babies who are exclusively breastfed since breastfeeding offers protection against the rotavirus. I suggest you talk na lang with your pedia regarding this so she can offer you her own explanation.

Pasensya na, I am not familiar with the UAE recommended schedule of immunization, but from what you cited, halos the same as ours since BCG and hepatitis B vaccines were given at birth plus the next vaccines to be given are: 2nd dose of hepatitis B (sa 1st month ito sa atin), 1st dose of dtap, hib, polio, pneumococcal and rotavirus.
Other vaccines during the 1st month of life are:
a. Influenza vaccine - 2 doses for those receiving it for the 1st time, may be given as early as 6 months of age
b. Measles vaccine - at 9 months of age
c. MMR 1st dose - 12 to 15 months of age
d. Chicken pox 1st dose - 12 months of age
e. Hepatitis A vaccines - 2 doses at least 6 months apart, given starting at 12 months of age

Meningococcal and typhoid vaccines are also optional here. If you will be staying there for a long period of time, I suggest you ask your pedia there how prevalent those diseases are there. If common ang typhoid, then better to have it given pa rin. Same with meningococal infections.
Typhoid vaccines and meningococcal vaccines are usually given at 2 years of age, although if the meningococcal conjugate vaccine ang ibibigay, pwede na ito ibigay at 9 months of age, 2 doses at least 3 months apart.
Ang Hpv naman, at 9 years of age pa pwede ibigay so matagal tagal pa ito.

First time mom po kasi ako at mag-isa lang if ever po kasi uuwi ako sa in-laws ko para matulungan po ako next po vaccine nya bcg at 8 weeks. Thanks po!

My baby is turning 4mos. Na kumpleto na nya yung 3 doses ng 5-in-1, 2 doses ng rotavirus pero after nun nagka ubo't sipon naman halos mag 1 month na ubo nya di pa rin nawawala..

Kelan ko ba pa vaccinan ng PNeumococcal baby ko? kelan po ba ang 1st dose nito? TIA

^Pneumococcal vaccine's 1st shot should be given by 6 to 16 weeks as per my chart.. 3 doses din yun. talk to your baby's pedia para sa sched ng mga vaccines ni baby. ano nga pala sabi ng pedia na 1 month na ubo ni baby? afaik kasi pag lumampas ng 5 days to 1 week ang ubo bibigyan na sya ng antibiotic.
