Actually, hindi talaga paltos ang rash ng chickenpox. Vesicular rash (small rash na may water sa loob then puputok then magkakaroon ng scab) ang type of rash na lumalabas kapag may chicken pox. What is different also from your child's case is that 1 day after the vaccination, there was already a rash on the forehead.
What was your pedia's assessment regarding the rashes? Blister ba daw or vesicle? Magkaiba kasi ang cause ng blister sa vesicle.

sabi ng doctor effect daw po ng vaccine, nagkataon daw na very susceptible sya sa virus. kasi napansin ko lang na nagstart cya as small red spot. tapos eventually naging paltos na.  tapos once maging paltos lumalaki yung area nya (ganto yung nangyari sa chest nya and sa hip area). ang sabi ng doctor e keep it clean and bantayan sya na huwag kamutin. wag daw takpan para hindi maginduce ng bacteria sa sugat.  pwede naman daw namen i-betadine tska calamine lotion.

Sabi ng parents ko parang pamaso o mamaso yung sa baby ko. Alam nyo po ba medical term or term lang ng mga matatanda Yun? Lumalaki kasi yung sugat as in malaki po.

Iba ang mamaso sa vesicle ng chicken pox. If it was due to the chickenpox vaccine, then it should lead to scab formation in a few days.

hi .tanong ko lang po my so is 18 months old and nakachedule ang booster niya ng PCV13 on nov. how long po ba yun pwede madelay. ang mahal po kasi.salamat

Which is better, yung mga 3 in 1 vaccine o yung paisa isa lang?

Which 3 in 1 are you referring to? MMR or DPT? Those are the only 2 3 in 1 vaccines available in the market right now kasi. Walang single or monovalent vaccines available for MMR and DPT so you really give it as 3 in 1 or as 5 in 1/6 in 1 for DPT.

Mamaso is impetigo. It is different from the vesicles you get from the chicken pox vaccine. Also, as I mentioned, the 1st blister appeared a day after the vaccine so medyo off na ang temporal relationship.
Anyway, since it has been diagnosed as impetigo, it is unrelated to the chicken pox vaccine. You might want to enforce strict hygiene measures on whoever touches your baby. I hope your baby gets well soon.

You can delay it for a few months, but please bear in mind, that the longer you delay it, your baby remains at risk for pneumococcal infections. Mas magastos magpagamot compared to vaccination.

Hi dr lelet!

My daughter had her first dose of pcv10 yesterday. I gave her paracetamol as per dr advise as soon as we got home. Come evening she had fever 38.5 up to now she still has fever despite giving her paracetamol every 4 hours. Is this normal dr? Sa Ibang vaccines niya Kasi Hindi ganun katagal at kataas Ang fever niya.

High grade fever is one of the possible reactions associated with pcv 10 and 13. Like all side effects, hindi naman lahat ng patients nagkakafever post vaccination. It depends on the patient's immune response.
Usually fever will last for 1 - 2 days. I suggest you inform your pedia about the fever.

Hi Dr Lelet!

Ask ko lang po.  My daughter is already 3 years old.  After giving birth po kasi, nagka financial problem po kami, so di ko po sya napa-vaccinate.  Yung mga usual lang po na vaccines sa brgy health center ang nabigay sa kanya.

Now, I was wondering if there are vaccines na pwede ko pa ihabol for her.

Assuming she got all the required vaccines at the health center, then your daughter can still have catch up immunization with the following vaccines:

a. Chicken pox vaccine 1st dose (recommended to be given at 12 months of age)
b. MMR vaccine 1st dose (recommended to be given at 12 to 15 months of age)
c. Hepatitis A vaccine 2 doses 6 months apart (1st dose recommended to be given at 12 months of age)
d. 1st Booster dose of DPT and Polio (recommended to be given at 15 to 18 months of age)
e. booster dose of Hepatitis B (given 1 year after the 3rd dose if the 3rd dose was given before 6 months from the 1st dose)
f. Pneumococcal vaccine - at her age, 1 dose na lang
g. Hib vaccine - at her age, 1 dose na lang
h. Annual flu vaccine

Optional vaccines: Meningococcal and typhoid vaccines (usually given at 2 years of age)

At 4 to 6 years of age: 2nd dose of MMR and chickenpox, 2nd booster of DPT and polio

^ Delayed talaga ang fever sa MMR. Usually it takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the fever and rashes to appear after MMR and chicken pox vaccination.
I suggest you ask/inform your pedia about it to be sure na it is because of the MMR vaccine and not due to some other infection.

is there any way po ba to prevent the reaction from chickenpox / measles vaccine? or should we just let it happen? what type of babies po ba ang may malaking chance na magkaroon ng reaction sa vaccine? if my baby is laging may low grade fever after vaccine, malaki po ba ang chance nya na magkaroon ng reaction sa chickenpox/measles vaccine?

^ Sorry, as of now, there is no way to predict who will have adverse reactions to the chicken pox vaccine or MMR vaccine. You cannot prevent it also since it is an immune response. It will really depend on how the immune system of the patient reacts to the vaccine on whether or not there will be reactions.
All medications/vaccines (even herbal or so called naturopathic vaccines) have side effects but not all patients will have side effects. The best way to be prepared is to know about the side effects (always ask your peda regarding possible reactions) so that you know what to do in case side effects appear.
And also, just because there are side effects doesn't mean wag na ipa-vaccinate si baby against Chickenpox and MMR. Yung side effects, ilang days lang yun. Yung scars and possible complications of actually having chicken pox, measles, mumps and rubella, some of them can be long lasting. Measles can cause sub-acute sclerosing panencephalitis (usually in kids less than 1 year old who get infected with measles) and can also cause pneumonia and even death while chickenpox can cause encephalitis (the child goes into seizures due to brain infection).
Kaya nga, aside from learning about side effects, alamin din ang posibleng mangyari if you choose not to vaccinate the baby.

Hi doc lelet! May chicken pox ang eldest ko 9 yrs. old kahit nagpavaccine sya nung 1 yr. old sya pero slight fever lang & konti lang ang lumabas. He's now taking Aciclovir 400mg 3x a day as per doctor's advice. Ang concern ko po ay yung 9 month old baby ko wala pang MMRV vaccine. Aside from keeping them separated in different room, ano pa pwede kong gawin para maiwasan mahawa ang baby ko?

Sorry, the price will depend on a lot of factors (supplier price, # of vaccines ordered, etc.) and it would be best to ask your pedia regarding this.
Philippine Pediatric Society recommends a 1 month interval for catch up immunization.

If 1 dose lang ang na-receive ng 9 year old child mo then pwedeng pwede talaga siya magka-chicken pox. Before kasi 1 dose lang ang recommended for kids less than 13 years of age (2 doses for adults), but studies showed that a lot of the kids still had chicken pox despite the 1 dose kaya nirecommend na dagdagan ang # of doses ng chicken pox vaccine.
Did you have chicken pox before? If so, your 9 month old baby might still be protected from maternal antibodies since usually late naman nawawala ang chicken pox maternal antibodies (kaya 1 year old pa binibigay ang vaccine). If not, then strict hand washing is a must, especially if pareho sila ng yaya.
Years ago, meron chickenpox Immunoglobulin (Ig) na available na binibigay to those who have been exposed to chicken pox. Immediate kasi ang protection nito (since meron na kaagad na antibodies against chicken pox) although temporary lang ang protection (approximately 3 weeks) and kailangan pa rin ibigay ang vaccine during the required time. I am not sure, though, if this is still available. Baka you can ask your pedia if meron pa sa supplier niya...
