In my baby's last check up (last Saturday) he lost weight. From 7kg a month ago, he's now 6.5kg. Although he grew 1cm. The pedia was a bit "alarmed" that my son hasn't been gaining weight, my husband suggested that we supplement my BM and bfeedin with formula milk.

Grabe! asar na asar ako and we even argued about it... But her refuses to listen na pag breastfed di naman magugutom ang son namin since he will ask naman if he wants to eat/drink. Im so sad kasi ayaw nya maniwala sakin.

My sister in law gave birth dew days ago and she's having a hard time breastfeeding. Mejo mahina pa daw mag-suck yung baby nya so parang naiipon yata yung milk nya and ang sakit na ng boobs nya. She wants to get an electric pump kase ang hina daw lumabas sa manual pump ng milk nya. I told her to take a hot shower first, I remember kase before pag nasstress ako humihina paglaba sng milk ko. What's a good suggestion to her kaya? Mejo wala kase ko naging problem mag-breastfeed kay Zoe before eh.

^^nangyari sakin yan sa first baby ko, and grabe nga parang sasabog boobs ko sa sakit. Nag hot shower And hot compress ako and it helped na mawala pain but what really helped me is lactation massage.. Lumabas na milk ko by then. And sabi din ni pedia na try not to get stressed kasi nakakaapekto din to and pa latch lang lagi kay baby..

I also breastfeed my baby from the time he was born until now that he is 1 year old. Exclusive BF ako, have not tried formula milk so far. It is my choice to BF my first baby since I really believe that mom's milk is still the best. Hindi talaga sakitin si baby, yung dalawa niyang pinsan na almost same age lang din naman, laging may sipon at ubo. As in weekly ata bumabalik ang sipon nila, si baby ko mabibilang sa kamay yung mga times na nagkasakit at sipon.

Maaga rin siya naglakad at pansin ko, ang lakas niya. Kapag makikipag-agawan ako ng gamit sa kanya, ako ang talo palagi, makapit ang hawak niya. At bibong bata rin, mabilis pumik-up sa instructions at laging happy. All of these i attribute it to BF. the best talaga, tipid pa kami!

Kailangan lang talaga ng tiyaga at pasensiya mga sis... We will all benefit from it naman, healthy si baby, sexy si mommy, maraming budget si daddy! Everybody happy

Nangyari din sakin yan.. I tried using manual pump. Pero since im new to it, wala rin masyadong nalabas.. Naiiyak na ko that time kasi sobrang sakit..  hindi ako makatulog..
Hindi pa rin ako aware sa lactation massage.. What I did is ng hot shower ako then naghand express ako until maempty yung breast ko both sides.. After nun unti unti na naging ok pakiramdam ko.. I pump every 3 hours tapos pag alam kong may natira hand express ko ulit..

May nakaexperience na ba here ang baby ngka breastmilk jaundice? My son will be 3weeks old tomorrow and he still has jaundice. Twice na sya na nicu for phototherapy. Breastmilk jaundice daw. I don't want to stop naman breastfeeding kaso I'm worried baka tumaas masyado his billirubin. Has anyone experience this ? Nagstop ba kayo mag breastfeed? Gaano katagal bago nawala ang breastmilk jaundice ng baby nyo?

Sis, yung baby ko nagka breastmilk jaundice & we did not stop yung pag breastfeeding namin. Gananyan din kami we had to go back sa hospital for phototherapy. Ang sabi ng pedia sa akin breastmilk jaundice daw si baby plus naging factor pa ang prematurity nya. Even after ng phototheraphy everyday pinapaarawan namin sya. Mga around 7-8wks si baby tsaka pa lang totally nawala pagiging yellowish nya. Now 9wks na sya.

happened to me before also, madalas ako magkaengorgement before. aside from massaging the breasts before feeding my son, i also did hot compress.

what does this supposed to do for breastfeeding? AFAIK taking calcium supplements doesnt really directly affect the supply but yes it's a must to take or eat calcium rich foods for lactating moms.

sis cldy_1981, alam mo maybe its because our babies are getting more mobile na kaya they don't gain that much weight. my baby naman did not gain weight the past month, but he gets ample wet diapers and poops and all that. i also got paranoid to just bottlefeed him but maybe baby's instinct. baby doesn't take much bm in a bottle if i'm the one giving it to him. but when i offer the breast, he would drink naman (basta sleepy/gutom na).

sis mamichula, my baby had jaundice when baby, but it went out after a month naman. we just expose him to the sun every morning. i didn't stop bfeeding.

Mommies question...I'm pretty new to breast pumping for NB. For my son we didn't have a yaya for him so everywhere dala-dala ko siya. Now with our 2weeks old daughter, I leave her with a yaya whenever I need to do errands. So far I did errands twice and I was gone for 3 hrs max. Nagulat Lang ako cause she finished the 4oz milk I left for her. In fact bitin pa. I thought that is enough since I even breastfed her before leaving (she emptied both breasts). Per my experience if she empties both breasts, she would only nurse 2-3hrs after. Sabi ng yaya, an hour after I left, she drank the milk already. Usually how much milk do you leave for your babies at this age?

Grayce: nope my pedia isnt a breastfeeding advocate, she doesn't push formula naman pero yun nga since she's not a BFeeding expert di rin sya maka-provide ng input to allay my husband's worry. We've started on solids na and he seems to be taking well to it, pero 1 oz lang ang pinapa-feed ko and everything else is still milk. And actually parehong yes yung sagot sa questions mo regarding my son being more active tapos early September he got sick with fever kaya rin nga namayat kaka-sad na di sya nag-gain though...

Yun nga iristacey, I was also thinking na why he lost weight is because he's really magulo... As in hyperactive nga eh, haha! Even the pedia said "oh he's so likot and gulo!" hahaha! Pero he's been pooping and wetting his diapers like normal naman.

Thanks sis nakakapanatag ng loob He's on his 3rd week now. Will see the pedia tomorrow. Sana nga mawala na after a few weeks I don't want to stop breastfeeding din kasi very convenient sa akin and gusto ko mas healthy sya. Natatakot lang ako na baka masyado tumaas [textspeak!] bili. Anung bilirubin count ng babymo before? Yung sa baby ko kasi  baba taas eh haay after phototherapy bumababa pag inuwi tumataas kasi ulan ng ulan di mapaarawan ng matagal
