^while it is true that ankyloglossia can be a hindrance to bfeeding, it doesn't mean that all babies with that condition will have difficulty in latching. My son was tongue tied but we didn't have any "extraordinary" issues. It was difficult at first but any mom naman who is new to this encounters hurdles. Btw we only discovered his condition when he was 3mos old and was only corrected at 5mos. What I'm trying to point out is while ankyloglossia can affect breastfeeding, it is still possible to breastfeed your baby.

Thank God ive been able to sustain breastfeeding - 6 months na kami ng son ko. It was a tough start and di ko inakala na ill be able to last this long but its really a choice that I made together with my husband. Mahirap parin sya lalo na when im tired from work & i have to direct feed him at night but its all worth it when i see his face contently sucking at my breast :) sarap ng feeling talaga. :) now i u derstand why mommies have a hard time when babies wean na. :)
congrats sis :) we are nearing our 7th month na din. ever distractible pa din si baby and may times na i want to pump na lang, but then again i still manage. taking things one day at a time.

congrats cldy_1981! we are on our 7th month exclusive breastfeeding/breastpumping today!!!

my little princess would never fail to feed in these situations
1. in the church while attending mass
2. when we eat out. lagi syang nag feed while im eating. di pa kasi sya na introduce ng table foods. in time siguro, kasali na sya sa meals :)
3. pagdating from work even when she just finished feeding. pag nakita ako, searching for boobiesn a, ang cute :)

yung one day a time namin, 7 months na :)

congrats to my batchmates kaice and iristacey for being able to ebf your babies exclusively for 7 mos na. although I may not wear the EBF badge since we started with mixed feeding, am happy that after the first month, we've been exclusively giving her breastmilk. good thing na am on leave for 8 days. I'll build up my stash plus bonding time with baby. kaya nga pansin ko lumalakas ulit milk ko. yehey! although my baby consumes around 3 oz na lang per feeding compared to her usual 4oz when she wasn't taking solids yet.

should: hot soups and green leafy veggies :)

all others in moderation lang dapat.

personally, i eat anything i want haha! but again, in moderation. and i also observe my baby for any effect. for instance, i cannot take coffee at night or after dinner kasi sure yun, gising ang baby ko ng wee hours in the morning haha! or talong. i can't eat too much, it'll make her gassy.

geekchiq - ibang level naman ang sa yo, sky high pumping haha! pero really glad of GT and other support group that made us stick to BFing in our trying times and to give answers to our questions :) we learn from everybody's experience in this thread.  ;)

^^ eat in moderation lang, wala akong diet restriction and have not experienced fussiness kay baby dahil sa diet.  :) pero galactagogues could help in milk production such as oatmeal, veggies, tofu, etc

Mga Sis, meron ba sa inyong nagbre-breastfeed na nakahiga lang kayo ni baby? baby is 3 mos old, pero ayaw nyang mag feed ng nakaupo ako, kailangan pareho kaming nakahiga.. Di tuloy kami makalabas ng bahay. I've been practicing to nurse her na naka upo ako, kaya lang iyak siya ng iyak. :(

^honestly ha, don't rely so much on those formula milks kahit mga prenatal milks etc. kasi they're very high in sugar. just my 2 cents :) dahil sa anmum kaya nagshoot up ang weight ko before when i was pregnant and when my ob found out that i was taking anmum she told me that low fat milk with folic acid supplement is enough already and mentioned that most cases na lumalaki while preggy is because of these unnecessary milk supplements etc.

Tsaka pano pala lalagyan? Nasa bottle na sya w/nipple or yung storage bottle lang then isang bottle lang w/nipple baunin transfer transfer na lang? Sorry 1st time kasi magbabaon sa bottle no idea talaga. Thanks.

Nakakaexcite naman pag nasa thread na to, i failed to BF my first son before dahil na rin sa lack of knowledge and dedication, sa upcoming baby ko, i will really try my best na makapagbreastfeed na..

Mga working moms, as mentioned sa mga previous post, pag bumalik na sa work, magpapump nalang and magiiwan ang milk sa ref for baby, diba hihina ang supply kung sa night nalang magdadirect feeding si baby sa atin? or maninibago kung sa araw sa bottle siya then sa gabi sa breast naman like magkaroon ng nipple confusion?

Hooray to us breastfeeding moms!

I love this thread! I'm an advocate myself. I'm a working mom with a six-month-old baby. So far, I was able to breastfeed him exclusively. Pero lately, I noticed, kumonti yung gatas ko. Sobrang stress ata sa work. So I asked for formula support from our Pedia (Don't judge me!). The thought of giving him formula also increased my stress level. Hay grabe! Kaso di na talaga kakayanin kasi ng stock ko sa bahay, unless di na ako pumasok sa trabaho. So hayun, I gave in to mixed feeding. Just until I build up enough stock again.

Inspiring ang magbasa ng breastfeeding stories niyo! Keep it up!

I think the reason why some moms fail in breastfeeding is the lack of proper instruction. Especially if we just rely on our moms. Lastly, misleading advertisement nuon. (A mom of a cousin of mine actually mentioned that she thought, formula milk is better than breastmilk. This is their mentality back then.)
