Hello mommies!! Buzzing this topic. Musta na po sa mga mommies who gave birth here at up-pgh?  Am also considering this hosp dahil yun vbac-friendly ob that was refered to me is affiliated here. Ob's ne is Dra. Jose.
Appreciate your feedback sisses! TIA!

gave birth here last month. overall ok. check nyo rin sis yung hospital rates and feedback thread there are inputs there.

total bill for mommy -around 77k - pf for ob, anes, and all hosp expenses
total bill for baby - -round 17k - nicu and nursery with meds for three days plus pedia fee

my room was small private. had an elective repeat cs. my doctor was also convincing me to do vbac pero my husband refused so nagpaschedule na lang kami.

may deposit system na sila depende sa room that you're  getting. Our dp was around 19k paid upon admjssion.

therr are many types of rooms -payward for 7, studio room (shared cr), semi private for 2, small private, big private, superior, suite, etc.

philhealth friendly sila...may office ang philhealth sa loob mismo. unfortunately wala akong philhealth.

only lroblem i encountered hospital wise is the billing. mabagal and you have to ask an itemized list of the meds and charges kasi sa dalawang beses ko dito laging may error sa billing.

Thanks sis for the feedback! May I know who your OB is? On fairness okay sya kasi she encouraged you pa to try VBAC samantalang other OBs would sugget Repeat Cs talaga.
Appreciate if you could refer your OB. Salamat! Happy baby mooning!

Hello. Share ko lang mga sis. Gave birth at PGH last month thru induced labor. I stayed for 22 hours at the Labor Room. My experience is good. Then baby and I stayed for 1 week due to baby's pneumonia na kailangan i-antibiotics for 7 days. Baby stayed at NICU for 2 days then roomed-in na siya sakin and I prefer to stay, ayoko iwan si baby sa NICU. Pwede na sana ako umuwi since I gave birth via NSD. My total expenses is around 55k, no philhealth, all in na yan, including pfs ng OB, Anes and Pedia. We stayed in Ward, since there's no available private room the time na magpa admit kami. Ward and biggest suite lang availble that time, and when hubby checked the ward, maayos naman, maluwag saka may sariling cabinets for each bed at maayos ang aircon. We are 7 in the ward.

Good thing I chose to give birth sa PGH, laki ng natipid ko, kasi mura lang hospital bills, considering I and baby stayed for 1 week.

i just need help,am on my 24th week of pregnancy, nakapagpacheckup ako sa PGH just once, that was around 15weeks of my pregnancy and hindi pa ako nakabalik.am supposed to be back aug13,kaso hindi ako makapagleave sa office, im just curious if i can go back to have a checkup anytime pag available na 'ko,or will i have to start from scratch as in pipila ako ulit as if first time patient ako? also,im interested in giving birth there sa pgh kasi mura, but based on what i read in the other posts, parang mahal din dun, does anyone know magkano talaga aabutin ang panganganak dun? sa charity ward ko lang gusto, kasi yun lang din naman ang afford ko. hope you can help.thanks in advance!

i know someone who gave birth sa charity ward mga three or four years ago parang less than 20k emergency cs. not sure ha basta ganun kasi yung hinihiram na amount nung hubby niya sa hubby ko for his wife. magready ka lang sis kasi medyo crowded at bawal ang dalaw sa charity. nung pinuntahan namin yunv kakilala namin sa labas lang nga kami pati yung husband nya. re checkup di ko lang alam sis pero balik ka na para macheck na si baby mo ask mo na lang yung proseso :)

Hi sis!

Charity patient kasi ako sa PGH and malaki din ang nagastos ko sa checkup (lab tests, transpo etc) tapos hindi pa maganda treatment sa pasyente. ang ending hindi ako dun nanganak dahil hindi ko kinaya yun treatment nila..i had to wait for the ultrasound ng 13hours. i cant even eat kasi bawal daw. nakakaawa lang ang mga pasyente dun kaso nga dahil walang pera eh no choice. aabot din ng halos 40k or maybe more than that ang price pag private patient dun, so if you have other options, you might want to consider those.

This Friday will have Biometry, Dopplers, Nst and BPP (perinatal exams ata ito).  Sana mauna ko sa macheckup and will have a good experience sa unang lab tests ko sa PGH.

Sis Tamarind, how much did it cost you when you had your delivery and perinatal exams? How many times ba ang perinatal exams na pinagawa sayo ni Dra. Aguilar? Please advise.

Thank you sis.

My OB is Dra. Quimio-Esteban. She's also a VBAC advocate. Was that bec of the type of room that you got po or was it your OB's pf na nagpalaki dun?

gave birth last feb.

Twice akong naconfined sa pgh, first one on July 2011 to remove an ovarian cyst. 4 months pregnant ako nun. Ok naman experience ko, stayed in studio room, solo ko room, w/ ref, cabinet and divan para sa bantay pero shared bathroom with the room sa kabila. Bill was 58k, less 19k for philhealth.

By 10pm, pumunta na kami PGH. I was already 4 cm dilated and was admitted sa labor room. 2 resident OBs ang tumitingin sakin nun. Pero mukhang first time nila magpaanak kasi naririnig ko usapan nila. Pinagalitan pa niya yung isang resident OB kasi mali yung ie sakin, 5cm dilated lang daw ako and not 9cm as what she was told. Then she looked at my amionitic fluid. Tapos kinausap niya agad ako telling me that I need to undergo emergency cs kasi nagpoop na si baby. 4pm, baby's out na.

Unfortunately, my baby died 2 days later due to PPHN, a fatal complication of meconium aspiration. Hanggang ngayon iniisip ko pa din kung nagkaroon ba ng lapses yung resident OBs and even my OB.   According sa medical records, my AF was thickly stained with meconium. So most likely matagal ng nakapoop si baby, possibly even before I got to PGH. Were they not able to tell that something was wrong na with my baby from the time I was admitted until they pop my water bag? Due to inexperience kaya yun ng resident OBs? Nung nailabas na si baby, he didn't cry. Sabi nung isang resident OB, he just squeaked then lumupaypay na yung ulo niya. They tried to suction out naman daw yung meconium na nainom niya but some went into his lungs kaya nagka-complication na.

They all tried to comfort us during those grueling days na nakikipaglaban pa si baby sa NICU. Yung isang lactation nurse pa nga when she learned I lost my baby na, niyakap pa niya ako and prayed over me.

But I guess yung pinaka disheartening was when it was time to bring my baby to the morgue. As in yung ordinaryong kahon. Sabi ni hubby di naman aso yung baby namin so bumalik siya sa room at kumuha ng lampin, and he carried him in his arms.

Malaki talaga matitipid if sa PGH mangangak, and if you and baby are normal, and you're not picky about the facilities, okay din manganak dito. The doctors are competent but the hospital itself is not.

I stayed in ward and baby stayed in NICU for 2.5 days. Lahat-lahat ng nagastos namin including yung mga gamot na binili sa labas and 2 machines na nirent namin is more or less 100k. Minsan naiisip ko if with that 100k, nanganak ako sa mas magandang hospital, will be the outcome be different?

Hello sister, nakaka sad itong experience mo. I am 15 weeks pregnant and my OB is affiliated sa St Lukes Global, Medical City and PGH. So among those 3 hospital, PGH daw ang cheapest sa package nya.
My OB is asking me na to decide when will give birth pero eto napunta ako sa forum na ito at nagdadalawang isip nako sa PGH. First Baby pa naman namin to. I can afford naman, kaso practicality-wise, PGH ang pasok sa budget.

Hays. Napapaisip na talaga ako. I am really confused. Can someone tell me that PGH is worth it sa panganganak lalo if you want to pay naman. Nakakatakot lang mga nabasa ko about them dito sa Forum.
salamat mga sis.

Hi happybride! If you can afford edi dun kana sa mas magandang hospital. Huwag mo i-risk lahat ng pwedeng mangyari. You'll never know naman kasi. PGH is a government hospital. Most likely nagrerely lang sila sa supply ng gobyerno, so anything na wala sa kanila like meds or machines kailangan mo maghagilap talaga. Take note, marami din sila pasyente, as in. So, if ever na may kailanganin ka example, machine then gamit na lahat ng pasyente you cannot just tell them to get the machine kahit na magbabayad ka ng mas malaki.
