Hi! May i know from our sisses here the current situation of qatar para sa mga nagpaplan to work there? Is is still advisable to work there amidst the recession? Im a nurse, and plan ko mag tourist visa sa doha. Pero i heard may kabi kabilaan na ang pagle lay off na sa health industry specifically hamad any advice mga sis?

Yes sis medyo recession dito sa Doha ngayon pababa na ng pababa kasi ang oil. Oil kasi ang pinaka bread and butter ng Qatar. Although some companies hindi masyadong feel, most of the big and  government companies nagbabawas ng employees. My sister is working in Hamad Hospital. Nagtanggal sila ng mga employees especially seniors. Meron nadin silang memo na magsasalary reconstruct na sila. Try mo parin mag apply. But as far as I know, hindi sila tumatanggap ng direct applicant. Thru agency sila. Try mo mag ask sa Universal Staffing Services jan sa Pinas.

Payo ko lang din, mahirap mag tourist visa ngayon dito. Tourist visa 30 days stay lang yan. So hindi ka agad agad makakahanap ng work sa short period of time. And mahirap ang working visa ngayon dito especially sa mga babae. Usually ang hinahanap ng mga companies dito ngayon is under husband sponsor or kung meron kang sariling visa. Kapag nalaman nila na under tourist visa ka, binabarat nila ang salary, since no choice ka kundi patulan, otherwise, mag eexit ka ulit at gagastos ng malaki to re entry again. So better try mga agency sa Pinas.

Yes sis try mo parin. Try mo pumunta sa Universal Staffing Agency along Makati or Magallanes ata to. Hindi ko sure. Agency yan ng Hamad Hospital. Ask mo rin. Kasi ang alam ko seniors lang ang tinanggal nila. Although hiring sila ng nurse, ang salary ata bumaba compare sa dati. Tapos nagbawas din ng benefits. Hindi nga ngayon advisable ang middle east. Try mo rin western countries like Switzerland or Canada. Kung magaabroad ka na lang din, go for the gold na. hehe

True. Tourist visa also will last for 30days only, after that you need to exit which is supper hassle and mahal. I doubt kung makahanap ka ng work within 30days ngayon. Kung may kamag anak ka dito, pa sponsor ka nalang kahit sagutin mo lahat ng expenses, hindi ganun ka bigat. You're allowed to stay pa for 6 months.

Qatar will host the FIFA World Cup on 2022 so it is a must that they should start building the stadiums to be used for the FIFA. Hence mga construction workers need nila, plumber, electrician, painter, etc.

In terms of long term, mag bu-boom dito ang mga agency or contracting services. Eto na trend kasi dito sa Qatar, they will hire contractor na lang para less gastos (walang health insurance benefits, education assistance, etc.).

Sabi sa Qatar National Vision by 2030, dapat 10% na lang ang expatriate.

I'm not working in Qatar but the 5 star hotels all have Careers section page in their websites, subukan mo apply dun. Marriott, IHG, Starwood, etc

Sa ganitong way ko nakuha ko current job ko dito sa UAE. Usually they partner up with an agency sa Pinas to help them process the recruitment papers pero it was the GM and Director of HR who interviewed the applicants

hi sa mga sisses natin na nasa qatar! bale one and a half month pa lang ako dito sa doha. ask ko lang po kung saan may ok na dental clinic dito sa doha na may magaling na orthodontist..yung hindi naman masyadong mahal. saka saan po may cellphone repair shop na ok..yung pinoy sana ang gumagawa. sensya po dami tanong. bago pa lang kasi ako dito. thanks po sa mga sasagot!
