Minsan merong 3 months minsan merong 4 months so it depends.

Ang advantage nito is ginto ang presyo ng bigas ngayon at halos lahat ng Pilipino kanin parin ang pinaka meal even sa merienda at almusal andyan ang kanin sa hapag kainan.

anyhoo, with most of the farmlands being converted to subdivisions etc, kumokonti ang nagpro-produce ng rice, kaya tumataas din ang presyo. very profitable din talaga kaya naman naiisipan ko na mag retire sa corporate world and go to academe kasi if ever kaya na suportahan un simple life namin. i still prefer to have a day job though (teaching sana) for everyday expenses since mejo matagal ang anihan. pero sulit naman ang paghihintay. take note, tax free ang ani mo so madami talaga sa lugar namin ang nagiging milyonaryo dahil sa yaman ng lupa  ;D

Maganda itong business kung hands on ka or kung makakatiwalaan mo ang mag ma manage. Yun nga lang since calamity prone tayo mahirap i maintain.

^sis i think since u own the land may amilyar o property tax talaga which we don't have since sangla lang yun mga farm sa min.though maliit lan naman sya vs being an employee talaga in which automatic na 25-30% ang tax.

^^sis twice lang din sa min. i actually asked the same thing to my hubby nun nag start pa lang kami pwde ba thrice kasi lam ko may mga lugar na pwde and here's his answer:
-yun mga places daw na yun like bulacan has an all year round supply of irrigation water so anytime basta natapos sakahan pwede uli sila start. sa min kasi pinuputol un supply from pantabangan kapag anihan para maka ipon uli un dam then after a month or two saka uli magbibigay so need hintayin un patubig.
-pwede naman if gusto talaga kay lang nid ng bomba o water pump. if magtanim ka naman ng solo syempre lahat ng peste syo pupunta so parang lugi rin. in a way it's a time for the soil to recover din kasi na-used up rin un nutrient nya.
so ako...ahh ok, hahaha halatang walang alam sa bukid. pero i'm slowly learning. mostly on capital, expenses and earnings ang focus ko ngaun para makita kung pano pwede i-maximize un return.
@sis momlory, 100 po ba o 1000sqm? to give you an idea, a 1hectare is 10000sqm. un 100 kasi is usual lot for a townhouse so mejo maliit. a 1000 pwede rin pero if you're not into farming talaga mejo ma-effort so mas maigi siguro na palakihin mo muna. we actually started with 2500sqm and dahil nga sa sipag ni hubby mejo nadagdagan na sya ngaun  ;)

My husband and I are slowly turning my family's weekend farm into a viable business. We both have full time jobs in Manila, but every weekend we go to our farm in Cavite. We have goats, pigs, and we sell produce to restaurants. Kami mismo naghahakot at nagdedeliver. It's fun but tiring, but at least we earn a little. Hehe. Di big time yung kita, but there's a lot of potential to make it big, as in really big. I think some of the ingredients to make it big are: really hard work, luck with the market, and luck with people. Hehe. We've endured typhoons wiping out our trees, got katiwala who would lie and steal from us, etc. If madali ka mahinaan ng loob, farming is not for you. Right now, things are looking up. We finally cordoned off an area for several greenhouses, nakahanap kami ng formula to make our crops resistant to pests, and we finally, finally have a reliable and trustworthy katiwala/farmhand.

Maraming success stories (one farmer we know was able to buy a car, in cash, dahil lang sa papaya, hehe. Another naman struck millions with his chickens). Of course meron din namang mga nalugi, hehe. Another thing to mind is the upcoming ASEAN integration, this 2015. The markets will really open up, so expect a deluge of goods. They expect the agriculture industry to be one of the hardest hit, but they're saying marami pa ring potential, so I'm not so worried. Ang dami kasing pwede pasukin - hog raisng, chicken, food processing, etc. You have to enjoy the whole process, or you're not going to last. My husband and I are totally in love with the idea of farm to table, of growing our own food. It helps that the weekend farm is such a nice place to go to every weekend, so we're also thinking of turning it into an events venue place, or a venue for agritourism.

momlory, pwede na yang 100sqm lot. We have a friend who supplies big hotels, with herbs grown from his backyard. Akalain mo.

Look at also these private individuals who are into farming, they can help you or they can connect you to someone who can

if you are into rice farming dapat 5-10 has para maganda ang income.
in 1 ha nasa 60k to 80k lang ang NET income, for 3-4 months pa yan, me kasamang goodluck yun.

there's an advocacy today (of DA) about " one million income per one hectare"

i asked some of my professors (MS Agribusiness here) if its feasible and they told me na "oo daw"

basta proper timing of crops or animals at saka dapat meron ka na sure market.  ;)

i dont know, its not yet proven, but i want to try, that's why i am scouting an area to be purchased
para sa agri-business namin ni hubby.

we'll start hopefully by April or May, and i will give u an update kung ano result;

proposed project to be housed in 2 to 3 has:

poultry (for native chicken)
piggery (native pigs)
half hectare rice farming
mahogany or gmelina sa paligid
kambing/baka/kalabaw
fishpond (tilapia)
garlic/onion/corn (for hilly part)

whew! sana makayanan lahat yan  ;D

I am scouting for an about 5 to 10has property to purchase through loan or through investors' money. I am planning on agri-farm resort and hopefully, in 3 to 4 years time ay magmaterialize na at pwede ng magretire completely from being an employee.
